I have had one VERY bad experience with a fishing charter, so I was a little skeptical about this one. Fortunately, Captain Tom and his first mate Ricky not only knew their stuff, but went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day. This might have been the best day of fishing I’ve ever had. All we could say on the drive home was how much fun we had, and spent most of the night talking about our day on the boat. Coming home with a ton of fresh fish to grill was a huge bonus, too. :) We chose the 6-hour trip, but they also offer 4-hour and full day options(8 hours). You can bring 6 people on board, and they will try to pair you up with other people if you have a smaller party. There were 4 of us, so we teamed up with another 2 people which helped bring down the cost(by the way, this was much cheaper than other fishing charter companies we found in the area). I found our trip to be the perfect amount of time. We first stopped to catch some bait fish, then went further out(about 70 – 80 feet deep) where we caught amberjack, barracuda, grouper, and jack crevalle. We were catching fish after fish for awhile, but once the fish stopped biting we moved to another spot to catch grouper. I loved that we got to experience three different types of fishing in one trip. Once we got back to the dock, the captain filleted all of the fish and divvied it out between everyone. We had so much fish that we ended up giving one of our bags to the crew. We still had enough to make a huge dinner, and have a freezer full of fish that will give us about 5 more meals. I highly recommend this company to others visiting the area or even locals like myself who just want to feel like they’re on vacation(and catch a bunch of fish, of course). We look forward to using them again when we have visitors.
