We stayed at the holiday inn, had our breakfast here, it was normal breakfast, nothing fancy, average price. Friendly staff. Went to the bar for drinks. They have an outdoor/covered area in addition to inside seating. Live music each night, the guy I heard there was pretty good, I only caught the tail end, just a really laid back kinda place.

Normally very good but went with a group of 14 and order grouper sandwich. It smelled so bad and tasted terrible. Replaced it with coconut shrimp that came after everyone finished. And charged us full price for the dinner. Very disappointed!!! John always took care of us!

The location is great– the food is meh and the service is seriously lacking! But there’s not many places you can go to by Boat anymore and the deck on the water is lovely!

I came to Indian rocks beach to the Jimmy Guanas bar and grill in hope of a relaxing meal with my out of town relatives. The steel drum band gave a nice ambiance as we took our seats on the outdoor deck. We were greeted by a lovely man, who never had a flaw in his service skills. Unfortunately I would not recommend the food to anyone who has mildly hopeful expectations. When we ordered what we’re meant to be fresh oysters on the half shell, we received a measly and very bland tray of supposedly fresh oysters. It was obvious that they had been de-footed, and washed removing all flavors. The grouper cheeks were tasty but the breading that was choosen didn’t compliment the tender cheeks, but instead insulted them. The calamari was breaded well but was accompanied by a clumpy and thick marinara. If you had even considered ordering any of the wines don’t! Especially not the house wine because you might as well be drinking water, because it was bland, tasteless with no bite. Over all service 5 – 5 Music — 4 – 5 Food — 1 – 5 Wine — 0 – 5 The manager was accommodation in attempting to rescue a disastrous situation, we appreciated.

Exactly what I was looking for tonight. After moving to Vegas 15 years ago from St. Pete, I wanted some fresh sea food and live 80’s music. Jimmy’s didn’t disappoint. Great band playing my favorite 80’s tunes and good seafood. I had the craw fish chowder, excellent! For my main course I had the seafood platter with grilled Grouper, Scallops and shrimp with a side lobster tail. Other than the Grouper being slightly over cooked, everything was very good. I have to remember this place for the next visit.

Atmosphere. That’s all this place has going for it. The food is terrible, the portions small, and a wait staff that doesn’t seem to care. Went a couple is nights ago, food came, no silverware, had to ask for napkins. Never cleared plates. Or cleaned table in any way. Menus still on the table when we left, never picked them up either. Only help was the food runner, he got us what we needed.

As others are writing, the atmosphere is great. I’m surprised this has as high a rating as it does. Probably because many are only drinking. The service was extremely slow on a pretty empty early evening week night.(5:30). Food was mediocre at best. Several people in our party feels it was all microwaved. And to have $$ for the menu price is deceiving. Most everyone in our party thought it was way too pricey. We are quasi-local and will find another place next time. Ps. Waitress was very pleasant.

The location is great for a relaxing evening. Drink specials are great & the staff is really attentive without being in your face. As for food, the breakfast is the only fare I’d recommend here. We tried several lunch/dinner menu options(avocado burger, quesadillas, pizza, artichoke dip) and it was all under-impressive. So take my advice and enjoy happy hour and amble over to PJ’s or Crabby Bills for food.

Ate here twice while staying at holiday Inn. Would highly recommend. Service was always great. The free coconut bread you can ask for and it is excellent. The Reuben Grouper is a must! Very kid friendly and great kids menu. Grouper sandwich is also excellent. Also ask for free tickets to play miniature golf in the lobby. Prices are slightly overpriced but for a hotel not bad, plus the food has always been great. Would recommend checking this place out.

Didn’t eat any food here, but enjoyed the hell out of my tropical frozen drinks! Big and plenty strong after a long ass day on the beach. I did see a sign that they server breakfast starting at 7AM, and had I been staying at the hotel, I would have taken full advantage. Service was prompt and friendly, thanks Jess!

After a day out on the boat, a group of friends and I decided to stop for a light lunch at Jimmy Guana’s. We docked our boat and walked through the hotel area over to the restaurant. There seemed to be a lot of families enjoying the pool and tiki bar area, so I had high hopes for a nice meal. I decided to get the sauteed shrimp appetizer as my meal. It came in a garlic cream sauce, very similar to alfredo, and with garlic bread on the side. There weren’t many shrimp for the price and I couldn’t eat the bread due to dietary restrictions. If I had to guess, I’d say there way have been 4 – 5 normal sized shrimp for $ 10. Slightly disappointing! Granted, it was an appetizer but on a normal occasion I would have shared it and expected more than two pieces each. My boyfriend did eat the bread and sopped up the rest of the sauce; he seemed to like it. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure our drinks were refilled regularly. My only other complaint is that for a bunch of appetizers, it took a pretty long time to get our food. There were only two other couples in the restaurant at the time, too. In the end, we paid too much for not enough food. But under the circumstances, you don’t have many options for restaurants to dock at and it could have been worse.

The pool side bar is a nice spot to spend some time. Drinks were good and bartenders will make you something different if you don’t like one of the house cocktails. Prices seem reasonable for what you get and there are a number of locals who come here so it is not just tourists. They usually have live music in the evenings.

I was very surprised for a restaurant attached to a Holiday inn. The décor was very fun and inviting which works for date night & family night. The food was far from gourmet but tasted very decent. However, the Mango Margarita was a must and so were the coconut cakes. Even though it was a slow night the staff was extremely professional and courteous. We will definitely be going back there soon. #Naturally_KidnKat

I love this place!!! It’s a year round awesome spot! Food is good at the vibe is great they even have a public nice pool with a tiki bar that kids can play in. In their building a water park out front of the hotel as well which will be done by the summer!!! They always have a live band on the weekends, sitting on the large deck outside in the sun, and watching the beautiful view of the intercoastal while you eat, and look at the boats Docked at the marina. It’s definitely a hidden gem for locals and for tourist. It’s very very kid friendly but still an adult friendly fun atmosphere. And you can’t forget about the cocktails they are always amazing!

I have to say that Jimmy Guana’s was a big let down, I’d read one of those free magazines you see around restaurants and shops advertising local establishments. There was a full page add for Jimmy’s listing nightly specials. Wednesday nights showed a one and a half pound lobster dinner special so we decided to go there for that particular special. When our server arrived, she told us that they hadn’t had that special in months. What a let down. The magazine was supposed to be good thru March. Since we were there we decided to stay for dinner. Dad liked the grouper sandwich and Mom had a nice piece of salmon. Service was not great. The restaurant is connected to a Holiday Inn, so it serves a lot of the hotel’s guests. It might be ok for them but we don’t plan on going back.

I have been coming here for many years. I have never had a bad experience. Love the Key Lime Martini & the view of the bay is gorgeous. The band’s are always rockin’ & the bartenders are always slingin’ drinks! The food is good, I always stick with the fish sandwich and you can never go wrong with the raw oysters. What’s not to like!!! Cheers…Kimberly Parker(Atlanta)

Jimmy’s is great for a good drink, great ambience and just being able to relax. It’s not insane busy like most places on the island. Stacy was a great server! Definitely would come back and ask to sit in her section.

Great Service, Great Bar Tender(Julia) the drinks were made perfectly, live music on the deck over looking the water. We had calamari(some of the best I’ve had in awhile) a few more drinks top shelf of course, a cup of seafood gumbo let me say I am extra picky when it comes to gumbo being from Louisiana this wasn’t bad dark rue with a little dirty rice I’d do it again needs a little Tabasco to make it righteous tried the pizza(don’t bother) but the chicken sandwich jerk style was excellent. We really like this place second time around we were here about a year ago I’d say if you don’t want to leave the hotel there is no need to leave to eat or have cocktails I found the prices inline so it’s all good come and enjoy we will be back for sure.

We have been twice, once for drinks only and once for dinner. Great atmosphere and layout. Bryan at the bar was awesome. Good variety of beer and liquor… meaning thwy had IPA so I was happy. Appetizers were great… especially the grouper bites. Downside is the band and all other activities are over at 10. After that it is just a quiet bar on the water. Too bad because the band was fun and had people up dancing. They have a nive pool area and putt putt golf on the inside wakway. All closed. Otherwise we had a great time. It is a 2 minute walk to the beach and the rooms at the attached Holiday Inn were nice and very big. Overall we had a great weekend.
