This place is really amazing if wildlife is what you seek. It’s a little out of the way but worth the search. There is a long wooden winding walkway that goes from the park out to the bay. Along the way are signs explaining all the things you might see. When you first see some water be sure to look closely at the ground. You will see it move with all the Fiddler crab and blue crab. They are about 2 inches in diameter and bury themselves in the sandy soil when disturbed. It is really cool to watch. As you continue your walk be sure to look closely out in the wetlands. There are many birds walking around. Great picture taking! When the boardwalk reaches the bay there is a sign telling you about the Manatees. We were not lucky enough to see one, but they say they do hang out there. Be sure as you are walking to also look closely at the trees. We thought we saw a large beetle in the trees. As we looked closer we realized it is the blue crab. They climb trees! Truly a cool thing to see. If you are ever in Clearwater Beach take a little time to go visit the crabs!
