Meh. We’ve eaten at the Wichita KS location for years so expected the food quality and taste to be just as good. It wasn’t. The chicken pot pie was average and the chicken fried steak terrible — it looked and tasted like a banquet frozen dinner. The gravy was gross and pastelike. Service was good and the price reasonable. If they could improve the quality it would be terrific.

Do not come here with a party with more than 8 people, they say is all separate and we asked if they could move the tables and they said no, so our party of 12 go to look at each other from across the room, great birthday dinner for mom, NOT! Thanks chedders management for making her birthday dinner suck!

My kids and I had an early dinner today and our visit was quite nice. We came in and were sat right away, our table was still dirty but the hostess was nice enough to clean it off. We ordered appetizers before our meal and it all came out very timely. I hate when the entrée comes out two seconds after you get the app. Good job Cheddars! We will be back. The monte cristo is calling my name!

Once we ordered supper, it was seldom that anyone checked on us. In fact, she only checked on us ONE time. Someone else brought our food out. I had to flag down a fellow waitress to get one of my side items corrected. I ordered corn. I received a potato. I was told that they out of corn and assumed I’d like a potato. I would’ve preferred someone coming back and asking if there was another side I’d like instead of giving me what they thought I’d like to eat. I reckon I can credit our waitress with actually bring my replacement side to the table. She did not check on us for the remainder of the evening. She came back as the restaurant was CLOSED therefore we weren’t able to order anything else to eat or drink. I can’t comprehend WHY we weren’t checked on or advised that the restaurant was closing and we should order soon if we would like additional menu items. We were simply provided a check. We arrived at the restaurant within 90 minutes of closing and had she checked on us more than once, we would have been able to get what we traveled so far to receive. What a disappointment.

Service is hit and miss here. The menu has a great variety but the items are just average. For the price, it is a good chain restaurant to go to. Nothing horrible to say about it but nothing spectacular, either.

Was worried about other lower Unilocal reviews but came with a group of four for dinner. Seated PDQ and received great service and food was outstanding.

You should know going on the weekend is never a good idea ALWAYSPACKED. You can wait up to 45mins or longer. The food has been decent and hot. I get the fish tacos or the bourbon glazed salmon dinner. That bourbon sauce is tremendous. My favorite drinks are the Painkiller and Maui Margarita… awesome awesome awesome.

We stopped in at Cheddars before the Missouri Mavericks hockey game.(We lost) The restaurant was very busy, but we walked in and were seated immediately. Our server was nice, but a bit forgetful. We had to remind her a couple times of things we had requested. I ordered the Monte Cristo and it was great! I got fries as a side, but I would not suggest that. A friend ordered the broccoli casserole, and it looked wonderful(she said it was). It’s a great quick place to go if you’re in the neighborhood. The prices are very reasonable, but I’m not thinking about going out of my way to eat here.

Good food and service was great! I had spinach dip as an appetizer and I had the lunch portion cornmeal catfish, loaded bake potatoe and green beans for dinner. Everything was delish! And my nephew ordered dessert(hot fudge chocolate cake with ice cream) There was 6 of us and the waitress did a great job! I will definitely be going back!

Cheddar’s has a wonderful atmosphere with slowly turning ceiling fans. Noise level is minimal and the wait staff is almost too eager in asking how everything is going. I was here about 9 months ago and(sounding like a heretic in a true Steak town), I had one of the best KC Strip steaks I’ve ever had. We went back about two months ago and I ordered the same steak again. It was not cooked to order(I like rare to low medium) and was tough and gritty. The wait staff wasn’t as attentive. BUT, we will be back! The menu us great! Lots of good meals. We love the embiance!

Food here is just average. We have eaten here a few times and food is nothing great, but it is okay. Service is so-so. Some of our favorites are veggie plate, chicken fried steak, and potato soup.

I’ve only been here once and didn’t know what to expect. This place is always busy every time I drove by, so I never stopped in. When I finally did, I ordered half of a Cheddar’s Club and bowl of baked potato soup from their Ultimate Lunch Combos menu. The club was a typical club sandwich. The potato soup was amazing though! If anything, I’d definitely return for the soup, lol.

Multiple Bad Experiences! Every time I visit Cheeders in Independence, MO the service is horrible and my food is always served cold. Another issue I encountered was sitting in the booths. The tables are too high while sitting in the booths which makes eating somewhat of a challenge. My overall dining experience was a disappointment and I probably won’t be dining at Cheeders again.

Waitress was great. Food hummmm. The Chicken Fried Steak was NASTY… It was so full of batter you could look down THE middle and pull the nasty meat out. ONEBITE… NOTHANKS. I have tried to eat there 3 times. Seems to be a place to get drunk not have a good dinner.

My family goes here probably at least once every couple of months– it’s really good food at a great value. Every time the check comes we all think ‘that’s only as much as all this cost?!’ The menu is basically ‘down home cooking’ but it’s fresher, not as greasy as that label would normally imply, and there’s more of an emphasis on healthier items than at some similar, family friendly restaurants. The tilapia with fruit salsa is my husband’s favorite. The chicken pot pie is delicious and comforting, & my daughter loves their classic Monte Cristo sandwich. They have a great vegetable plate entrée that is a generously sized side salad plus your choice of 4 vegetables from a list of about 12. The list includes steamed broccoli, apple and raisin creamy slaw, a baked potato, beans & rice, among many others. You can go ultra healthy or not. They used to have fresh, steamed edamame on the list, and I’m sad they took it off. You can order a plate of 3 of their special honey glazed croissants(so yummy!), and 1 croissant also comes free with any salad. They have an extensive cocktail menu, their cheese fries are dynamite, and if you still have room(the portions are fairly big– expect leftovers,) they have an incredible warm cookie dessert, served à la mode with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It feeds 3 people easily. Cheddar’s is often busy, but for good reason. The wait is worth it. *This review is based on the only Cheddar’s I’ve ever been to, the one in Overland Park, KS at 11865 W 95th St.

Me and my wife eat at Cheddars a couple times a month. No more. 1. They changed the menu. Bland — no pics of nothing. 2. They raised the prices — and not just a little. 3. French fries with my club sandwich were ice cold and the ham was fatty. 4. Our waiter shorted us $ 10 when he returned with our change. All in all — a bad experience. We were there Wednesday Feb 18 at noon. This used to be a great place to eat and always had good service. Not sure what is happening there — but we won’t be back.

I was reluctant to try this place. They didn’t have this chain where I lived before. I was so impressed. In fact I’ve went twice in one weekend! The atmosphere is casually classy. The wait time isn’t any longer than other places, but the service was wonderful. Now we can get to the food and drinks… Amazing! Appetizers came out promptly along with our drinks(which are insanely inexpensive). We honestly couldn’t find one thing about this place that we would change. Definitely gained a couple of loyal customers. Do yourself a favor and try their Texas Sweet Tea!

Cheddar’s, you’ve betrayed me. I won’t be back. I walked in, for lunch with my mom. I totally intended on chicken and waffles. That’s the only thing on the menu I really like. The rest is blah. I read the entire menu twice, and couldn’t find the selection. I asked the server, who said it was removed. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, which was ala Applebee’s. Infact, Applebee’s is cheaper. The rest of the menu, boring and trite. The other entrée’s, similar to anything I’ve had everywhere else. I’m bored with Cheddar’s, and unhappy with the menu change. My cheeseburger was good, like Applebee’s, but $ 2 more so why bother? My mom had the lunch serving of salmon. Slim’s Chicken across the street has Chicken and waffles, but I’ve not been there so I can’t say anything bad or good. Even the server said people aren’t happy about the removal of chicken and waffles from the menu. Bring it back, and I will return. The menu had only a few items. They were a scattered amount of ordinary unexciting food. The dessert selection, move along. There are other restaurants in Independence, everyone floods to Cheddar’s like it’s the only place in town. I’m so unimpressed I won’t be returning, unless they add chicken and waffles.
