This one is become a regular stop for me about once a month. I enjoyed going to Capt. D’s because I can get good seafood that’s prepared well for reasonable price and have a choice of vegetables. Granted the green beans usually come out of the can but that’s better than french fries any day of the week. The staff is friendly and welcoming and I’ve always found the restaurant to be clean and well cared for. A good stop for fish.

It’s not sit down high end seafood quality, but what do you expect from fast food? That being said, the clams were overly breaded for my tastes and the Cole slaw was bland, at best. The shrimp was OK — best part of my meal. I don’t expect much, but this won’t be the first place I come back to.

Pitiful place. Everytime we came here when we ordered inside it was like taking hostages to get tartar sauce and vinegar. Plus I’m picky about changing grease and every time we’ve ordered this year you could tell how dark it is and that means dirty grease. Will spend eight bucks just for a platter and still be hungry. For that price might as well go to a sit down restaurant.

We were very disappointed eating here today. We hadn’t eaten here in a long while because they closed the one closer to us on 40 Hwy. I used to love their butterfly shrimp and their cole slaw. First thing I notice when they give me the plate is the shrimp is no longer butterfly shrimp. It looks and tastes like all the other cheap, heavily breaded shrimp you get as a menu-afterthought at a burger joint. And what the heck happened to my cole slaw?!? It’s all mushy, mayonnaisey, and funky store-bought tasting. They used to have the crispest, cleanest, vinegary tasting cole slaw that was delicious. I tried the kid’s fish, it’s still better than Long John Silver’s. The fries were crisp and tasty. This is the only reason I gave them 2 stars.
