I do not recommend this place and I am NOT going back. I’ve had my nails done here a couple times just because I was too lazy to go to the better salons that weren’t within walking distance of my home. However, each time I went my nails were loose by the fifth day. I thought it might be due to how rough I use my hands until one finger started to come a loose 3 DAYS LATER ! Then when I walked in and asked them how long it would take to fix, they told me they were TOO BUSY and they couldn’t see me because they had 2 people waiting although I SAW 3 EMPLOYEES unoccupied at the time.
This place is really not worth the time and I found a better salon near my house in the same price range. Don’t waste your time.

Yes! This place goes over and above! Sure, the décor isn’t the swankiest but it isn’t at my favorite BBQ joint in South Carolina either. Jenny gave me one of the best pedicures I’ve had in years and even managed to make my mangled pinkie toes look normal! Then I got an hombre red and gold gel manicure with an awesome hand massage. All this for 42 bucks. I’m totally going back!

Went today for a gel manicure ($ 23)…very good! In and out in a little over an hour but my nails look wonderful! The gal that took care of me spent time with the cuticles, massage, everything. I will say it’s not a five star hotel spa type place in tens of décor, but is clean and is a wonderful neighborhood spot! I highly recommend! I just moved to IB and this is my new spot! Happy to have found it!

Unfortunately the cons outweight the pros. The place is small and unattractive inside. I just feel like they could take a little paint and some thrift store pictures and make it a little more pleasant. The manicure itself was good and inexpensive; however, I had clear polish put on and the very next day it peeled off. It wasn’t gel, and I don’t know why it peeled like it did. But, ugh. I didn’t have the time or energy to go ask to make a $ 10 manicure right. It really should have been done right the first time. Won’t go back.

Lily is AMAZING! I’ve been going to her for years and she has NEVER hurt me, most other places I’ve gone to have. She always listens to what I want and she leaves my nails symmetrical and natural looking. I always recommend this place to people, all 3 girls that work there do an awesome job! They’re also great at eyebrow waxes!

T&J is a hidden gem over on 9th Street! Thank you Trang for fixing my bumpy nails done at City Nails on 13th.
At T&J they take their time and pay attention to detail. They are gentle and sincere. When they give you options they let you pick and they do a good job of explaining.
I had my nails done at City Nails on 13th at the end of they day (wrong time of day to get your nails done there!). I said I didn’t want acrylic but the lady forced it and they were thick and bumpy. The shape didn’t match from nail to nail and they were not smooth. They didn’t want to fix them until the next day and told me to come back later so I went to T&J.
At T&J they did a great job fixing them and truly took an interest in making sure they were thin smooth and shaped well. Pricing and service is much better at T&J… The hidden gem over on 9th Street!

I received excellent service for an excellent price. The ladies though do not greet people coming in the door and I watched potential customers come in, wait a bit and walk out. So, if you go there, just wait a bit or initiate conversation. They are SHY!
My nails and pedicure are perfect, they both listened to exactly what I wanted and did it attentively.
Wish the place wasn’t so tired looking (or maybe that is me that’s tired)
I will be back!

Firstly, I actually didn’t get my nails done here.
I called ahead of time to see when/​if they had time on a Sat afternoon to do a pedicure, they said yes in an hour. I show up then, and for 15 minutes was never greeted or given even eye contact! A lady showed up after me and after 5 minutes we both decided to walk out. The prices are cheap, $ 12.99 for a pedicure, but I paid $ 20 and drove a few blocks away to Imperial Nails and had no wait, a great job done and the nicest staff! Spend the extra few dollars and go to Imperial Nails and forget this hole in the wall.
