I’ve been here several times for lunch and dinner. For lunch, the roasted vegetable ciabatta sandwich is delicious, every time. Their dinner appetizers are divine: tiger shrimp salad, cranberry goat cheese salad and grav lachs crostini have been wonderful. Last week they had a special appetizer that was to die for: prawn ceviche with house-made tortilla chips. I am in love with the shrimp risotto. I had never had a risotto I like, so ordered it hesitantly, and was so happy that it was fantastic. I’ve since ordered it three more times! The ambiance is perfect, especially at night. They are so warm and welcoming, their wait staff is very friendly, and everyone is happy to be there. Food this good at these prices is rare! Portions are generous. Highly recommended!

Excellent buffet! FRESH food, even at end of buffet time. Parties and sweets are unique and awesome. Best muesli I’ve ever had. Very friendly and attentive service. Found this place on Unilocal and it did not disappoint!

My husband and I just had a most delightful experience at Tommy’s for breakfast! Service was superb. Food was delectable, and supremely flavorful. My cinnamon French toast was perfection, no need for syrup. I definitely recommend them!

Every time my beau comes to visit me in Idy he INSISTS that we have dinner here. He LOVES the filet mignon stroganoff(he won’t stop talking about it!), and my favorite dish is the shrimp risotto. The food is so flavorful and the service is great. We love Chef Stevie and would follow him anywhere.

I came here for brunch and despite not liking buffets, I ended up selecting the brunch buffet. It was great and had too many options! All of them tasted great! Not sure what was the best but their home cured salmon was phenomenal! The service was also quite amazing!

Very friendly wait staff with very warm greeting and service. If you’re ever in Idyllwild, you know it’s hard to find vegan food. Café Aroma will whip you up some pasta, but it’s a bit expensive. Had Tommy’s Kitchen make me an awesome and reasonably-priced curry plate during brunch. Chef came out and gave me a number of options, personally, and then created a tailored dish. Good stuff. Great service.

Unique dinner food. The risotto was delicious. Not as creamy as I have had them but still good. The bread pudding was delicious. It reminded me of bananas foster without bananas.

First off: EATTHEFRENCHTOAST. You must come here at least once just to eat the French toast. Tommy’s is hands-down the best restaurant in Idyllwild. I’m so glad it opened. Its owner and head chef, also a formally-trained pastry chef, is a delightful Swiss fellow from Zurich named Thomas. More importantly, he’s a culinary genius. Much of the menu is directly rooted in Swiss tradition, such as the outstanding«rösti” — breakfast hash potatoes seasoned to perfection. At breakfast, they serve little pastries when they seat you which are to die for. At lunch, the highlight was the salad bar. The variety and creativity, from swiss carrot salad to curried slaw, was an adventure in yum. But again, the most amazing thing on the breakfast menu is the French toast. EATTHEFRENCHTOAST. It is the best French toast anyone has ever conjured. It is magical. It will transport you. It is better than all the drugs you’re too afraid to try. The staff is delightful and friendly and attentive. Please come here often and help this place thrive. It’s too good. We must never let it go!!!

This restaurant was formerly«Little Chef in the Forest» and the fondue place, but now it’s Tommy’s Kitchen. We went for the Sunday Brunch and was amazed by the variety and quality of the food. A mix of standards(eggs, bacon, fruit) and European buffet. The service was fast and friendly, and the was great(even though it was a February morning). I’d go back again!

Showed up for an early dinner with my honey… was greeted at the door by our server Zach who took exceptional care of us throughout our meal… ill cut right to the chase, the salad bar is bomb… all of the specialty salads are fresh made on the premises… curry coleslaw, yes! The home made broccoli cheddar soup, spot on… the shrimp risotto was impeccable with lots of fresh veggies to lighten up the dish nicely… then the bread pudding, OMG! Will be coming back very soon!

Off the beaten path but with very unique and delicious dishes. Servers are wonderful, friendly, and tentative. I had a breakfast-like dish that contained a mixture of hash browns, sausage, bacon, and a sunny side up egg which was excellent. There is a lovely patio available for when the weather allows. I would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a more quiet place in Idyllwild to have a meal with a cozy setting.

Had heard lots of good things about Tommy’s since they opened. It’s one of those quaint places that just invites by its contemporary appeal. It has a large shade deck that is expected in California. Its a clean newly renovated structure. I was fortunate to run into a local couple that we’re celebrating the gentleman’s birthday. We chatted and they invited me to photograph their plates. Laurie Hidy aka Mrs. Pickles one of the local bakers was so impressed with all the offerings. She herself raved about the Marinated oranges they had for dessert. Allen her husband loved his beef stroganoff. My curry was perfect. It was a fine sauce not too heavy and not overwhelming. It was like a tasty wine. The chicken was very tender. I was truly impressed with the fried banana on the side. Portion size was perfect. I appreciate the music was not too loud and appropriate for the space and setting. Kristin my server was very professional and attentive. Chef Stevie stepped out and greeted some customers and checked on their satisfaction. It seems everyone was very pleased. This establishment is ideal for an intimate dining experience or for friends gathering. Oh yes they have a well sorted salad bar which is not a common sight anymore unless you’re at Wholefoods.

Being in the hard life of the culinary career., I appreciate being served a meal fit for royalty. One we all work hard to have the privilege for. Well I found my first adventure locally in Idyllwild. Recently opened for dinner to accommodate the hard to please. Here my adventure was to endulge in what I can’t recreate and here the Shrimp and Crab dish transported me to the east coast authentic and the freshest crab meat without the mess of cracking and chipping your nails. Herby, buttery, Crispy baked. Chef Stevie even paired it with a grape tomato, green beans and sweet carrot medley to balance the richness of this amazing experience. Highly recommended. I can taste the passion.

We went tonight for dinner with my parents and my husband. Tommy’s Kitchen only started serving dinner a few weeks ago. Our server David was very friendly and funny. We had the beef Stogganof, the shrimp risotto and the schnitzel. All of the dishes were delicious and the portions very large so that we were able to take some home. We’ll definitely return next time we’ll be in town. I would recommend to reserve because the place is small.

We decided to venture around for a new breakfast place. I looked on Unilocal and found Tommy’s Kitchen. What a surprise! This food was amazing. We made two trips this week, once for breakfast and once for lunch. The food and service was perfect. I had the Sennen Rösti, which was the best breakfast I’ve had in a while! We ate on the patio both times as we brought our dog out. I highly recommend for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Such a cozy place with a cute patio. The inside is full of character as well. Be ready to climb stairs if needing to use the restroom.

We’ve been here for(weekday) breakfast, lunch, and Sunday brunch. It’s never been a disappointment. Tommy’s is a wonderfully new style of restaurant here on «The Hill.» If the weather is nice you should try to sit on the deck but the inside is also very bright, clean, and contemporary. Breakfast…Swiss Birchermüessli…a nice option for those of us who can’t have all the sodium and fat in a typical bacon and eggs breakfast. Lunch…the chicken curry is amazing! A great change from the usual tacos, sandwich or burgers options up here. My friend and I have gone here a couple times for lunch and have not been disappointed. I do find myself drawn back to the curry tho. Sunday brunch… it’s my new favorite!(See menu.). It’s a very relaxed place with a diverse menu. My husband gets his favorite sausages and I love the other healthier-for-me options. The Salad Bar… always fresh with some unusual choices such as sliced mozzarella cheese and tomatoes in olive oil. Dessert…short dessert menu of only two items, tiramisu and«Swiss griesschopfli»(a flan and berry dish.) Both were delicious but I liked the flan better… might order two next time! The service is always exceptional without being intrusive. The prices are reasonable. I wish they were open for dinner. Something to hope for! (will post menu pics from my phone)

Off to a promising start with their delicious European breakfast. Then we went back for lunch and had very fresh barley vegetable soup. During lunch they promoted their 4th of July brunch, so we gathered friends after the parade. The servings were sparse(the bratwurst came with nothing but the lonely pallid sausage on the plate) and the caramelized onions were nonexistent, instead slightly sautéed translucent onions. It was disappointing as we had touted it to our friends. A nice setting but the bench seats are uncomfortable. We all hope they up their game in the food department to be commensurate with the rather pricey menu!
