Did not love their sushi. Fish didn’t seem fresh, and was served warm. Bad experience. I will never be back.

I am a little confused by all the bad reviews of this restaurant. I absolutely love their Pad Thai. Have tried it many places and find it delicious! Also some of my kids are sushi nuts and have been to many places in NYC, Boston, Cali and think Ying’s is awesome! I can say the décor is funky but here on Cape Cod we could use something unique and fun! As for the drinks I can’t say I have tried anything but the saki and that was great! As for the water… most restaurants have pretty bad water so I suggest you ask for bottled. Presentation is beautiful and our service has always been good. Anywho…I suggest you try it our for yourself it is definitely worth it!

The food is outstanding but the décor and service is TERRIBLE! I’ve been here several times. They burned their customer, forgot to bring ordered items, insisted on charging us for soup appetizers they never served by presenting us with our soups along with the bill, messed up vegetarian orders by adding meat to them, rush customers through their meals so they can’t enjoy it, and treat the masterpiece dishes like slop being tossed around in a prison cafeteria. The bimibap is some of the best I’ve tasted. What a shame!!!

Wow. My stomach is roiling from the excessive amount of mayo poured on to cover the lack of sushi making aptitude. Fish nothing to write home about despite being located near the shore. Pretty sure that wasn’t tuna either. The shumai was over steamed. The roti would not be recognizable to Thai people. It was essentially a scallion pancake. No wonder no one else was eating here.

This place is overpriced. Coming from the NYC area my boyfriend and I are used to overpriced sushi so it didn’t shock us. We were on vacation and figured it didn’t matter if we overpayed for dinner. No compliments on the fish. It was all good and fresh. The hostess was a little rude when we picked up the fish but we ordered it to go and had it in our hotel room so that was the most communication I had with them. No real complaints other then the price but again it’s smack in the middle of a tourist down town area so you have to expect that.

I went to Ying’s sushi Bar with my friend on Saturday around 12:00PM we were the only ones in there but we didn’t mind it was nice and quiet and we just sat down and talked. The hostess was very nice and prompt with bringing us menus and drinks. We ordered 3 sushi rolls to share between the two of us and they were amazing! sorry AMAZING! If you are looking for a good price and great sushi come here!!! They have lots and lots of options to choose from! And it looks like they do hookah which means I will definitely be coming back and bringing friends! Hookah & Sushi yes please!

It really pains me when I have to write a bad review… I was with Unilocaler Nancy(below) so I’ll just highlight some of her points: Starting from when we walked in and asked to be sat outside we got some serious attitude. The water that was brought to us tasted like it was infused with Cherry Chapstick(I know I was freaked out, too) so we ordered a sea breeze and a mojito. They were both served to us with no ice… the mojito was ok, the sea breeze was disgusting so we sent it back. Our friend ordered a dirty martini. Simple, right? The waitress brought her vodka with orange juice in a martini glass with a lime garnish… what? We ordered chicken pad Thai and a few sushi rolls for dinner. I’m not one for thai food but Nancy says the the pad thai was great! The sushi was the worst I have ever had. Not only did we receive sushi rolls that we did not order, but the one that the waitress recommended to us was actually inedible due to the goopy mound of spicy mayo thrown on top and the unfresh scent and taste that we immediately noticed. We complained about the sushi, apologized for complaining, mentioned how great the pad thai was and was still charged for the $ 15 disgusting sushi roll I had declined to eat. Go to Misaki or Kobe House. Or just ditch the sushi and get Brazilian Grille(:

Yings has been on my bookmark list for close to a year and we were so excited to try a new sushi joint, which also had a hookah bar!!! Apparently it was too good to be true. We were greeted with obvious annoyance when we asked to sit outside. The water that was brought to us had an extremely«off» taste so we pushed them aside and ordered cocktails; a sea breeze and a mojito. They were both served to us with no ice which I found odd but continued to be excited about trying a new restaurant and tried the drinks! my mojito was ok, but the sea breeze was undefinable and we sent it back. The DIRTYMARTINI we then asked for was brought as vodka with orange juice in a martini glass with a lime garnish. HMM. this is when we realized the language barrier was an issue. We ordered chicken pad Thai and a few sushi rolls for dinner. I must say that the pad Thai was great! Great flavors, good portion and reasonably priced. The sushi was the worst I have ever had. Not only did we receive sushi rolls that we did not order, but the one that the waitress recommended to us was actually inedible due to the goopy mound of spicy mayo thrown on top and the unfresh scent and taste that I immediately noticed. I complained about the sushi, apologized for complaining, mentioned how great the pad Thai was and was still charged for the $ 15 disgusting sushi roll I had declined to eat. Overall, I recommend trying another asian cuisine restaurant in the area, especially if you are looking for sushi.

We have been going to Ying’s since it was on Main St. Tom Ka is the best I have had. Fresh rolls are great! Wasabi pork shumai — I can only find at Ying’s. Please try this restaurant if you are visiting the cape.

Hands down the strangest sushi experience I’ve ever had. Hint: it was Latin night. Also the place is covered in so many blinking lights I had to sit facing indoors so as not to go into shock. Otherwise the food and service were great. :)

Tasty food, great service. Went on a Sunday in July at 1pm. Quiet, sat outside with our dog. Staff were very friendly and the lunch we had was great. We ordered Pad see ew & sushi. Would definitely come back.

This review is for hookah only, not the food. I’ve been smoking hookah weekly at Egyptian hookah bars for over 10yrs. The hookah concept at this place was obviously an afterthought that they’ve put zero effort into. They charge $ 25-$ 35 for a hookah(that usually costs me $ 8) that doesn’t pull any smoke! The employees have no idea how to make a hookah; the closest they’ve come to it was watching it on TV. Their coals are the worst available(those round ones that are treated with chemicals to self burn) and they charge $ 10 when your coals run out in 15min. I left after a few pulls and a 3min conversation with the gentleman who made the hookah. He tried to convince me that something is wrong with my pulling strength. Advice to the owners: either take it off the menu not to embarrass yourself or take a 5min crash course in hookah making from an authentic hookah bar.

pretty good. had california rolls. they were a very small for the price, but otherwise good. also had the chicken bento. the chicken was a little dry, but at least skinless. the sauce was very good. there was also a mayonaise dipping sauce that was good. the seaweed salad was good. it came with a little dumpling and a piece of shumai. probably frozen, but still ok. i think the prices are high compared to the quantity and quality. 3.5 rounded to 4.

We went into Ying’s with high hopes. I had been once or twice a few years ago n had pretty good spicy tuna. This time though we tried a full-on dinner with apps, drinks entrees, soup… The whole shebang. What a disappointing – and Expensive– night. The service was excellent, the drinks strong(as they should be) the décor was clean and interesting(but the black n white leopard print seat covers at the sushi bar was quite odd.) But the reason we went there was the sushi and, oh boy, it was bad. The Miso soup was passable, the Udon noodles were good but the sweet n sour shrimp the noodles came with was bad. If your seafood smells fishy it is not fresh; the shrimp was definitely frozen and most likely sitting around thawing for a bit. You could smell the fishiness. The«Deep Impact Roll» featured shrimp tempura which again I know was just sitting around waiting to be used. The Spicy Tuna Hand roll tasted like canned tuna. The California Roll was ok(but you can’t mess up imitation crab sticks.) I also got two Yellowfin Tuna Nigiri and two Uni Maki style. The Tuna was ok, a little flat on the taste which means it’s not as fresh as it should be. And shame on me for even thinking that Uni from anywhere in Hyannis would be fresh and delicious. I guess I watch Anthony Bourdain too much, he talks up Uni so much, but what I obviously forgot is that he was never eating it on Cape Cod! I’ve never came close to retching while eating sushi, but I had to make an effort to keep the one bite down. Overall a waste of a meal, we all had a fun time though as the drinks were good and the noodles were fresh. The only reason I would go back is for a bowl of sweet n sour udon noodles and a few long islands. Stay away from the sushi. Go to Asia in Mashpee Commons instead.

I love Yings… I always get the spicy tuna roll, and chicken fried rice… try the Chicken Noodles as well. Great portions, and decent scorpion bowls. This is probably 2 mins from my apartment and serves food late, so it’s a place I frequent often. The menu is big, with a wide variety of different cuisines on it… You wouldn’t generally expect chicken wings at a sushi place, but they are actually really good! The décor is getting a bit more… um…“eccentric” as time goes on. lol… but none the less, it’s fun and a good local spot.

Love this place — great food, classy eclectic décor, great background music and attentive service. I eat here once a week, sometimes I order from the specials menu, sometimes not. The food is always fresh, full of flavor and consistent and the portions are the same — whether it’s on the daily specials menu or not. Thursdays are half price Thai food day. If you like Red Curry, Green Curry, Phad See Meo and other Thai dishes, you won’t be disappointed. The Thai Basil, lemon grass and other ingredients are always fresh and not lacking. I’d say you get plenty, but I have found that Thai food is not super filling so don’t expect to be taking the rest home! Monday’s are very busy here as it’s half off sushi for lunch and dinner! I’ve had everything here from Sushi, Yaki Soba, soups, appetizers, Thai food, Korean food and drinks at the bar. I find the meals to be presented nicely and the tables, glasses and silverware to be clean. I’ve brought many people here who loved it and do come back. I’d say this is a diamond in the ruff. I haven’t eaten on the patio yet but it does look real cozy and welcoming!

I have been here 3 times in the past month and have always had a good experience. The food is fresh, very well plated and there is a huge variety of sushi and other dishes(mostly Thai/Korean). The waitstaff and owner Ying are very nice and are sincere in wanting you to be happy. The outside looks sort of ordinary but has a very nice outdoor dining area. The inside is quite classy and not what you would expect in this neighborhood. They have specials everyday like half price sushi on Monday, half price Thai dishes on another day etc… Full bar and although it seems a straight crowd it has killer gay bar music on the sound system, a reason alone to go!
