Possibly the worst dining experience of my life. I should have recognized the tell tale warning sign of 3 cars in the parking lot during prime time hours of a Friday night. Let start with service. There were 5 of us and we were seated at a table big enough and set up for 4! After sitting there for 5 minutes our disgruntled waitress comes to greet us only after hearing my wife whisper to me «Is anyone going to come to our table». We give her our drink order and tell her we were ready to put in our appetizer order. She tells us that she’ll take that order when she get back because they’re super busy(remember 3 seated tables in the entire restaurant). Another 15 minuets goes by and a different waitress comes to our table to inform us that she’ll be serving us because the last waitress had a «meltdown». So we had to start all over. Let’s fast forward 20 minutes to when we actually have food in front of us. The Lobster Bisque was horrible! Tasted like flour, the manager claimed it had«real» lobster in it which I believe it did if you were lucky enough to find a piece in your bowl. The appetizer clams and calamari were very good but the compliments start and end at those two items. … 25 minutes later when we get out entrees. My mother and I got the stuffed lobster… How the waitress described it. «Fresh 1−¼ lobster stuffed with chopped lobster, crab, scallops»… What we got… Dried up possibly reheated 1−¼ lobster stuffed with bread crumbs and a barely detectable amount of any of the fore mentioned items. My mother ordered broccoli and didn’t get it, when she let the waitress know, she took note that my 3 year old hadn’t ate his and suggested that my «just eat his unless she really wanted her to run to the kitchen» We expressed our displeasures to the manager and new partner. He was nice enough to company the kids ice cream which took another 10 minutes to come out. Also the waitress picked up the tip as soon as I put it on the table while we were still sitting there… lol(I just don’t have it in me not to tip)

My husband and I have been to this restaurant every time we go to cape cod and each time the food just gets better and better! From the polenta with bolognese to the flourless chocolate cake and everything in between the duck, scallops, steak — -perfect!!!

This is closed and has new management that has made many great changes including the name. It is now the Nor’easter. Check out reviews there.

The prix fixe menu lets you go out for a special dining experience without a dent in your wallet. There are new dishes on the menu that are fantastic. I never think of the Paddock as a fried chicken kind of place, but I tried it anyway. SOGLAD I did! Yummmmmmmy. My husband had the pork special which was terrific too. We had an all around great meal, service and drinks.

Had lobster dinner here while in Hyannis. Food was okay, nothing too grand. Service was efficient. Can be on the pricey side.

This place wasn’t terrible but the décor is territory outdated and the interior feels dark and dreary. We read some great reviews and were eager to try this place out since it was near the beach we were staying out. Our menu didn’t know the menu well and gave two of our party the wrong dish(we didn’t complain because at least the meat was the same). My drink was too strong and I didn’t love my meal. The appetizers were our favorite part. Not a terrible experience but expected a little more given the price point of this restaurant.

Hyannis, Massachusetts– I’m quite surprised that not a single thing is prepared fresh to order. I know this because the waitress informed me of it when I requested the vegetable Wellington without goat cheese. She told me everything is pre-made which is unexpected for an upper scale restaurant. I ended up eating a plate of veggies which included dry green beans and carrots. Even the dessert menu had no dairy-free options. Those dining with me did not report sensational meals(salmon) either. The ambiance is nice, the wine selection is great, but the food choice and quality is sub-standard. The service is quite slow as well so unless you have tons of time to spend waiting, don’t bother. I’m just wondering how with pre-made food the service can be so slow!

Above average ambiance, slightly above average food. Had the escargot, garlic butter baste carried the meal. New York sirloin lacked flavor on all levels. The first bottle of wine we ordered was 86d. Restaurant couldn’t do us any price favors on the second choice.

Go when it’s not busy(like lunch on a leisurely day) and sit at the bar for an intimate experience. Two words got me hooked: beurre blanc. When you’re feeling like a fat kid, get it on the side and dip bread in it OR just rub it all over your body.

I don’t have anything truly negative to say about Paddock — service was good, food was good, we ate slowly on a weekend night and weren’t hustled out, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. It’s an «old money» kind of place, and my date and I were the youngest patrons there by oh, about two decades. That’s fine, if you are looking for a more low-key evening. It’s within walking distance of the nightlife — but then again, pretty much everything in Hyannis is within walking distance of the nightlife. The drinks were good, stiff enough, but they should be because the pricetag here ain’t cheap. My wedge salad and lobster bisque were both excellent. My expectations for a high(er) end Hyannis spot are equally high(er), and this place hit all the marks but didn’t blow any of them away. I would go back, and I would recommend it for a quiet date. I do think there are some better options locally, but Paddock is worth a shot.

Althought the service was good, I was not impressed withe the crab cakes — not lump. I was also not impressed with the pepper crusted tuna — over peppered to death. There are better places on the cape.

This place was by far the best restaurant that we ate in in our recent trip to the Cape. The food was excellent and the service was quick. The place was packed. We had a 7:30 reservation, we got there early and sat at the bar. My wife and I are both in our early thirties. I did notice that the other patrons were pretty elderly, mostly over 60. We were seated promptly at 730. We had the oysters, scallops and stuffed filet of sole. Both entrees came with risotto which was also outstanding. This place also has complementary valet service. Parking is limited. There is only 1 valet, who runs around parking all the cars. We was really nice and quick. I would definitely recommned this place for a more upscale experience whie in Hyannis.

Getting here is very difficult as they have limited parking and are on a rotary. We were in the parking lot planning on coming in, and someone from the restaurant came out and yelled that we had come in the wrong entrance. It was quite rude, so we left.

I was expecting something fabulous from this place based on the reviews, but fabulous is not what I got. It was definitely fine, or A-OK as Unilocal puts it, but nothing mind-blowing. I went here with a group of six while on vacation. We had a reservation for 6:45, but arrived closer to 6:30. This was no problem and they seated us as soon as we got there. There is also complimentary valet parking. The restaurant is decorated… quaintly. It looks a bit old. It also has carpet, which I detest in a restaurant, but it at least looked to be kept reasonably clean. The service was great all night. Our server was friendly and made great suggestions. We never had water glasses that went unfilled. We also had many people check up on us all night. We got fresh baked bread with a roasted tomato oil and butter to start the meal. The bread was really good and they oil was different, but it worked. We got a second round of bread with our meal. I got a mojito to drink and it was delicious, probably one of the best I have had. I tried some of the watermelon martini, but it tasted like cough syrup. We all ordered from the prix fixe menu. I had the Caesar salad, flat iron steak with buttermilk mashed potatoes and a roasted tomato demi and the chocolate mousse. I really enjoyed the salad and thought it was just enough for an appetizer. I found the roasted tomato demi to be too sweet for the steak and I didn’t think it complimented it well. The steak was good and cooked exactly medium well like I wanted. The mashed potatoes were very dense and ended up filling me up rather quickly. The meal also came with a couple carrots and zucchini. The carrots were fine, but I didn’t eat the zucchini. For the chocolate mousse, I think they used some coffee to enhance the flavor. It tasted way too much like coffee and not enough like chocolate. Overall, I would return to The Paddock to try something else. I thought the prix fixe menu was more than reasonably priced. It came out to be only $ 22 for a good amount of food. However, I will adjust my expectations for the next time.

Nice ambiance and décor. I had the lobster Galloway and my boyfriend had the paddock classic two pound baked stuffed lobster. The Galloway was cooked with a creamy delicious Madeira truffle sauce and wild mushroom risotto. however the lobster was slightly overcooked. My boyfriend’s two pound lobster was stuffed with a decent amount of scallops and plenty of lobster meat in the tail and claws. The lobster meat was cooked just right. However, the scallops did not taste very fresh. Highly recommend the icebreaker… very delicious martini!

Came here on a Monday night with 4 others and were seated immediately. This place is a classier step above the rest of Cape Cod, but still maintains a sense of being somewhat casual. To being the meal, they bring out some nice hot bread, fresh out of the oven, with a delicious olive oil with a very generous amount of finely chopped sundried tomato at the bottom of the oil. I could have eaten this alone all night and been happy. Started with the raw oysters and clams… both were clean tasting, fresh, and shucked nicely with not a bit of sand or shell. For my main, I had one of the specials of the day, which was a fish(either flounder or cod — cannot recall which) stuffed with their lobster and crab meat stuffing, topped with holandaise. While this was tasty, the stuffing was pretty much all bread… I didn’t really find or notice any pieces of crab or lobster. Service was friendly, and prices was pretty reasonable for the area. Overall, this is a great place for a classier meal in Cape Cod.

Really nice place and waitress was very nice and knowledgable. Décor was a bit outdated, but the food was good. I had a very tasty fish and my friend the lobster… he said it was a little overcooked-but I tasted it and it was good. Wine list looked quite extensive. Cocktails were quite good! Wierd lounge singer made us giggle, but it was a nice change of pace and better than hearing musty music. Dessert was delicious. Would go back again… however we went late and I suspect this is a fancier place during the dinner rush. We came dressy casual… I think at peak hours people may be more dressy for this place. But I felt fine in a nice shirt, dress shorts and shoes.
