The Daily Paper

I used to come here quite often when I lived in the area. It’s breakfast, which is essentially the same almost anywhere. My eggs benedict was good, but kinda bland. What reallllly disappointed me was the waiter. Like another reviewer, he seemed more interested in other, larger tables, or in standing at the front of the restaurant talking to his coworkers. He brought the check immediately, and it was the wrong one. I had to go get the correct one. And he only checked once to see if we needed coffee, apparently because he was so busy talking to his coworkers. We even stared at him to see if he would notice and come over. No. Apparently it was time to leave. I had one cup of coffee, which he only poured halfway (even that is too little for milk takers) and I had to have it filled up by someone else. Disappointing. I’ve been a breakfast server. This dude sucks. Bad service, and service is the name of the game. I wish we had the nice girl who actually checked on her tables. I almost flagged her down, but decided it wasn’t worth it. With all the options out there, I’m not going back. You have been warned, don’t have the dude with the beard as your waiter, he only wants you in and out. Even when the place is empty. No excuse for that.

The staff was really friendly, but the food wasn’t very flavorful. We got a turkey club and a roast beef sandwich, both of which were fine but not great. The fries were excellent though.

Good breakfast. Nice looking place. Very inexpensive. Friendly waitress and host. Breakfast sandwich was good scrambled on a bagel. Homefries were typicsl, but not greasy. Pancake was very good and I only got one. Great location near Barnstable High. Happy place with a nice interior. Could be a bit more inventive with the menu. It is what it is. Solid breakfast at a fair price. Nothing special, but nothing bad. Would possibly go to again, but would not rush to go there.

I have read the reviews and I can’t see the excitement at all in this place. Service was spot on and the coffee was fine. The food was so average that I was disappointed. But average would normally earn three stars under my rating system. In this case I think the portions were small and the options of sides were limited so I have to rate with 2 stars. I had a bacon, cheese and tomato omelet. Try other restaurants in the area. You aren’t missing anything

Awesome breakfast (get the breakfast burrito). Service was awesome. Our waitress, Ashley, killed it. Definitely return trips in the future. Nothing truly amazing that makes me give it 5 stars though. Skip the home made corned beef has. Go with the canned stuff instead.

Stopped in this morning at The Daily Paper since we were spending some time in Hyannis. When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a very pleasant hostess and busboy. They quickly seated us and made sure that we felt comfortable. The beginning experience was great, but our experience shifted once we began to order.
1. Our waiter stopped by and asked us if we wanted coffee. I took the coffee but when my wife went to order an orange juice he quickly left and didn’t ask if we wanted anything else to drink.
2. Once it was time to order the waiter seemed more interested in supporting other tables. He was brisk and to the point, which we usually don’t mind, but he again didn’t allow us to continue our order. We ended up asking the runner to bring us an orange juice.
3. The food was pretty delicious, but the serving sizes were tiny. I may be in shape now but for the same cost we could have stuffed our faces elsewhere.
In the end, the food was good but we definetly had some critiques. If this is what the restaurant looks like on a slow day then I wonder what it is like during a busy summer morning.

The Daily Paper seems to be a staple for Breakfast on the Cape.
The day we ate at the Daily Paper the line for a table was out the front door, a very good indicator considering how many other breakfast choices were immediately adjacent. Thankfully, as with any breakfast joint the line moves fast.
My family and I had a chance to look over the menu as we waited so when we sat down we were ready to jump in. I spotted the meatlovers scramble on the specials menu board, a tasty mix of scrambled eggs, Linguiça cheese, and fried potatoes. I loved it! My daughter order a tall stack of pancakes which was also a big hit. We enjoyed the décor in the restaurant as we waited for our food. Very heavy on Coca Cola (sponsored perhaps?). We also liked the artwork from the Kennedy Gallery on the walls. They have like 3 or 4 cooks working the line so food really comes out fast. I also liked the fresh orange juice.
Really could not find a bad dish here, there’s a reason why this is a local favorite on Main Street. The coffee was flowing non-​stop, very much appreciated.
We liked this place, we would come back.

Really good «organic omelette» which had onions, tomatoes, baby spinach, avocado and pepper jack cheese served with a griddled english muffin and fresh fruit. A cuppa earl grey tea (Tazo brand) all for $ 13.00! I enjoyed this place a lot — we sat outside since the weather was nice and summery, you are basically sitting in a parking lot but it didn’t matter, the inside was too loud and felt sticky. Outside was nice, tables kinda small and close together, but the food and service was good and the price was right, so you can’t go wrong at The Daily Paper.

Have been going for several years and will continue to go despite 3 stars, but I now know what to get and not get. Good food and reasonably fast service once you get past the long lines on certain mornings. Omelettes are the fluffy type and not that paper-​thin type you see most other places. Problem
is…quality and value are deteriorating. Home fries are tasty but you get fewer and fewer each time you go. You can buy a half gallon of OJ for the price of a small glass. And the sausage links are your run-​of-​the-​mill spindly pre-​frozen type. The special omelettes of the day are appealing but the «special» item within it is very sparse. Most staff are friendly and this helps to off-​set the terribly inexperienced pre-​teens they have working behind the counter. Definitely worth a visit but only at certain times and if you know what to get.

We used to love stopping here every summer during our vacation. We went specifically for the lobster bennies. The pricing has gone up and the amount of lobster has significantly decreased. There are other places on the cape that give larger lobster portions for the price. Hash browns are just roasted, we prefer crunchier.

Very disappointed with our recent trip to the daily paper. Had to wait a long time for our food, and when it finally arrived to our table my boyfriend and I were both unimpressed. I ordered an omelette from the special board. It had Caramelized onions, apples, bacon and cheddar. While the omelette was good, the toast was hard (clearly sitting under the heat lamps for a while) and the homefries were barely cooked. (see picture — they were also bright yellow which I don’t understand). My boyfriend got the spicy sausage eggs Benedict off the special board. He said the sausage seemed like it was frozen then cooked in the microwave, there was a tiny bit of hollandaise, and the poached eggs were way over cooked. The only thing making the meal «spicy» was some sriracha poured on top. My boyfriends homefries were also undercooked. It’s too bad because I’ve always liked the Daily Paper in the past but something was off this time and all we got in return was free baked beans. Save yourself from a $ 30 terrible breakfast and visit persy’s place instead!

Cute little breakfast place! Loved the breakfast burrito. Generous portions. Our waitress was very friendly. I would recommend it to everyone! The only thing is the wait for the table was pretty long and the hostess was not there right away to seat us. Other than that really enjoyed my visit.

Outdoor seating, great servers, amazing food! What more is there to say! The prices are very reasonable, only thing is it draws a big crowd are the weekends so either get there early or be prepared to wait!

While I swear I would never go anywhere but Keltic Kitchen for breakfast in Cape Cod, I was in a rush in Hyannis and popped into The Daily Paper one morning. Staff was warm and welcoming. Got a nice egg white omelet with a side of fruit, it was a great portion and came quickly. Overall, another great spot for breakfast in Hyannis. I’m sure I’ll be back when I want to cheat on Keltic.

This is a great place to eat breakfast. They obviously cook to order because your food arrives hot. If it’s busy, which it likely will be, it may be a bit of a wait for a table and for your food. You can have coffee while you wait, but you’ll be charged on your bill. Service was friendly. They support local suppliers and have an organic menu section as well. We did not get a chance to try it for lunch.
I was a little disappointed at the amount of lobster on the lobster Benedict. I also had an omelet especially made with lobster and it too featured only two small chunks of lobster. Other than that, try it and enjoy.

I would like to try this place out for breakfast some time. Called up to order breakfast to go as it was in the way to the ferry in Hyannis. The bagels were ready to go. The came with cream cheese packages, so we could put on as much or as little we like. The coffee was do it yourself. A fine selection of coffees, small or large including decaf. It was a nice set up. The place seems busy even for a Thursday morning.

This place was the perfect spot to hit before heading back home to NY. My boyfriend had the organic omelet (spinach tomato avocado onions) and I had 3 organic eggs scrambled, homefries and pork sausage. Everything was delicious. Oh and their hot cocoa was yummy. We also had a cranberry orange juice mix… it was refreshing and seemed to be freshly squeezed.
I love the décor… small but neatly kept. Our server Kristen was a doll. She was polite and quick on her feet. I will definitely come back when I’m back in town.

Loved this place!
Definitely a place where all the locals go. Food is cheap and they have super cheap early bird specials. A wide variety of omelets and breakfast specials and a large variety of sandwiches, including some not so often ones, as a brie and ham sandwich. The place is large and can hold many people, but on a Saturday at 12 it was pretty packed in there.
If you are in the area, definitley check them out.

Not a bad little breakfast place by look. The waitress was nice, the place was clean, the runners seemed well groomed which is a trait I like in my food industry workers.
The food was bland and not delicious at all.
I like going out to eat a lot, but I hold a special place in my heart for breakfast diners and the food was disappointing.
One thing, or maybe two or three I will be specific about is their toddler-​sized joke of a glass of milk, you would think if they charge $ 1.75 it would be a bit bigger. I can buy an entire gallon for $ 2.79! I mean, if you are gonna use knock-​off muffins for your «english» muffins at least let me wash down the dry, off brand bread with more than one gulp of moo juice.

Oh, I took a pic of the eggs benny. You can see the mutant muffin from mars, as well as the smallest, flattest piece of Bazooka Joe gum they tried to pass off as ham. (Remember how hard it was to start those small squares of Bazooka Joe? Like a workout for your jaw!)
The eggs were cooked nicely, nothing was burnt or raw, there was just no flavor to anything.
Maybe go again, but definitely not high on the list.
