This is truly a hidden place, tucked down what appears to be an alley between shops. The café is truly beautiful, especially the outdoor seating. I also love the mismatched tableware. The food is good, but service is slow, and food is on the pricey side for what you get. There are not a lot of options, but what they do offer definitely lives up to their name. From the knowledgeable waitstaff to plating, you know that a lot of love has gone into this restaurant.

Great wine selection; food is different and delicious. It is a pricy place but I thinkn it is worth it. I have been here 4 or 5 times and do not have any but best remarks about food and service. Thank you!

This place is seriously a hidden gem. I have been coming to the cape every summer for years and never have heard of this place until it was recently recommended. Our waitress Paige was incredible and it was only her 2nd shift on! She was super nice, knowledgable and attentive. The ambiance here really is what makes this place incredible. The feeling is more of a European café than Main Street Hyannis which is amazing. Their shrimp scampi was honestly the best I have ever had! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great ambiance, fresh food, and great service. One recommendation to management… Getting the bill at the end of the meal on the servers tablet is very awkward. When tipping at the end of dinner I like to talk to my wife about what we think we should tip and to have the server standing there is very odd. Go back to regular receipts :)

nice settings but overpriced and takes forever to get your meal. We waited about 40min just to get soup and over an hour for entrée. The food is good but I’m not sure it worth the wait & the price…

My husband and I visit the eclectic café every time we are on the cape. Its the perfect setting for a romantic date night. The ambiance and setting are perfect. Er love trying the different, sophisticated menu items. it is pricy but worth it in our opinion. Martinis are awesome and strong!

The Eclectic Café has the best atmosphere of any restaurant in Hyannis in the summer. It has a tiny indoor bar but a fairly roomy outdoor area that is great to grab a nice espresso martini at. I used to come here regularly for their espresso martinis. The food here was always great as well. Very eclectic and pricey but worth it for the service and quality. This place is definitely hidden on Main Street(a true hidden gem) and I recommend coming here for a drink.

One of the best restaurants on Cape Cod! My favorite in Hyannis! I don’t understand the negative reviews… Very fine dining is expensive and you do not get giant portions. You’re paying for an interesting and creative menu that apparently not everyone has the palate to appreciate. The Eclectic is for fine dining aficionados who can really appreciate it. Could the service be better? Yes. However, the food and the beautiful, romantic atmosphere, complete with good, nightly unobtrusive live music more than make up for it. If it’s not raining, the patio garden is the most romantic spot I know of, and if it is raining, they have a beautiful, elegant dining room. Menu highlights are the short ribs, scallops, and the duckling, as well as the best beat salad you can ever eat. Even the vegan stuffed tomato entrée was spectacular. I’ll see you there.

I wish it would let me give zero stars. Friends and I stopped by on Saturday night to check out the restaurant and then planned on coming back for Sunday brunch(as advertised and recommended by the hostess). We arrived on Sunday and everything was locked up. When we called we were told that they decided not to be open that day. Disappointment.

my wife and i went on 9÷2÷14, were promptly seated by the hostess. great atmosphere, guitarist playing in the garden, we were psyched… then it happened,.our waiter, and i’ll name him, Tomas, didn’t come to our table for 10 minutes… took our drink order, then didn’t return for another 10 minutes and when he did the wine order was incorrect.(not even close actually, he brought a white wine, we ordered red).we informed him that the wine was incorrect he proceeded 3 times to ask if i was sure i didn’t order that. next he took our order… i ordered the sirloin. Tomas, correctly i may add, suggested the filet as he thought i would like that better. he was right i did. my wife ordered the shrimp scampi. i ordered a side of onion risotto, which didn’t come with the order… when we FINALLY flagged down Tomas he looked inquisitively at me, then stated the other waitress took the order that was his. really!!! he then stated he would place the order and not charge me… i told him multiple times NOT to re-order the risotto but he insisted. well halfway thru the meal the risotto arrived… much to my chagrin i took a forkful and in their haste to get it out, it wasn’t cooked properly. we left it on the table and didn’t bother to pack it up for take home… my wife’s scampi was bland and the HOMEMADE pasta was not even as good as boxed Barilla-disappointing at best… that was just the entrée… let me go back to the appetizer… we ordered a crab cake that was 16 dollars. OMG it must be great… it was the size of a Ritz cracker, we actually thought it was the wrong thing… TOTALRIPOFF… what a scam… in summation: we have a summer home in hyannisport and have been to virtually all restaurants around. the issues here are simple 1. TERRIBLY small portions. and i can’t say this enough. tiny tiny tiny.2. EXTREMELYOVERPRICED… this is so expensive with regards to the portions size, make me wonder if the management even knows what acceptable restaurant margins are and when they are too high.3. Waitstaff not paying attention/slow…now i can only speak for Tomas HOWEVER. looking back on Unilocal all the way to 2010… it seems these are the EXACTSAME3COMPLAINTSEVERYONEHAS. the management should look to the longtime restaurants around them… ROADHOUSE, COLUMBO’S, ALBERTOS, & new comers such as the NAKEDOYSTER, ILMAESTRO, BRAZILIANGRILLE… these are top notch, well run outfits, that IF they are pricey they offer great food, hefty portions, great waitstaff, great atmosphere… there is a reason why they last… i give them 1 star due to setting. i will try again as i WANTTHEMTOSUCCEED… i hope they use this constructively and change their ways, and retrain waitstaff… they need to realize how to stay here for a long time which appears they don’t want to… if they need help, seek out DAVECOLUMBO, he owns multiple restaurants and ALLAREFANTASTIC…

A really cute place to go for dinner or just drinks. Had acustic guitarist playing the night we went. We only went for desserts and drinks. We enjoyed it! Very good service.

This place was ridiculously bad from start to finish. We were a party of 6 adults and three children. Of the 6 appetizers and 6 entrees we tried only one appetizer(the stuffed calamari) was good. The chicken entrée was fine, but fish, steak, short ribs were all bad. If the prices weren’t so high I’d probably give this two stars, but for these prices they should make food that tastes good, rather than trying to be au courant with blue cheese foam and noxious herb purees. The entrée theory appears to be a small portion of protien smothered in a dubious sauce paired with a giant slab of a starch.

Well, I can really only speak to the location and the drinks, we did not have dinner. It’s an ideal spot on a warm summer night to have a drink in their fabulous outdoor patio. Try to go on a night when Mark Booth is playing guitar there. Boston prices, which is a little unfortunate, but then I guess the place has to close when it rains.

I was so disappointed in this restaurant, I’m not sure where to begin. I’m from out of town and was looking for a great new restaurant to try out with some friends. The plus to this restaurant is the beautiful outside patio, it’s relaxing and has great vibes and the Martinis were great! When we arrived we were seated right away. The first red flag should of been the fact that no one came over to our table for 10 minutes and the table next to us was complaining about trying to pay their bill for awhile. The menu looked great and we ordered appetizer salads. We got the melon and prosciutto salad which came with tiny pieces of prosciutto, most of the pieces were extremely fatty. They also soaked the melon in something that tasted like anisette, but we were told it was aged balsamic. We had made it clear that we didn’t like the salads and we were sorry for sending them back. We were also told they would get taken right off the bill, since they were 16 $ each! For the main course we ordered scallops and salmon. I was told the salmon was great and my scallops were cooked well but I kept getting hard pieces of something in my mouth which was a huge turn off. Overall we left hungry, they never took the salads off our bill and it was extremely overpriced and disappointing. The service was awful and the food took forever, everyone around us was complaining and confused. There is clearly a huge problem with the staff. I will not be returning.

Awful. Went there for a date night with my wife, and although the outside courtyard was beautiful, everything else was awful. I ordered the $ 36 steak, and after pulling out tendon after tendon, I just had to send it back. If you aren’t friends with the owner or manager, then expect to be ignored. The table next to us apparently were friendly with the owner/manager, and thought it appropriate to comment on my wife and I not wanting to eat a tough steak, and a bowl full of oil(short ribs). Owners, if you are actually reading this, those 4 people won’t keep you in business, and ultimately will alienate the customers you should be listening to… If they can’t act like guests in your establishment, then they should be allowed in. If you like getting sick after dinner, being ignored, and being made to feel uncomfortable in a beautiful setting, then this is right up your alley.

This was an absolutely perfect date night. The daily specials were delicious and the flavor combinations were creative worked well. The setting could not have been better — a short trip down a brick path to a quiet patio brought us just far enough off the Main Street sidewalk to feel like we could be anywhere.

We had a great time, so I will give this 4 stars. I’m a portion guy, so I always have to mention portion sizes and Eclectic has smaller portions. That said, I was really happy with the creativity of the menu and lovely outdoor dining experience. What was good? The Hendricks martini, for starters. Except it wasn’t ice cold(and I’ll blame my server for perhaps letting it sit a minute too long). I also enjoyed the calamari«spaghetti and meatballs» which used a shredded squid as the noodles. Very creative. The scallops were another big winner at our table. The baked oysters were just okay — maybe a little overcooked and bland. However, I did think the menu, while creative, left us wondering what the signature dish was. Perhaps it was the braised short rib over risotto that I regret not ordering? Perhaps it was the grilled fish? Maybe its the duck? For some reason, it’s hard to tell. I would go back, if for no other reason than to try a few more dishes and answer my own questions. For now, it gets 4 stars until I can get back another day.

Eclectic Café you really disappointed me. Fancy, cozy, and beautiful atmosphere, fun menu, amazing waitress, but wow did your food disappoint me, and the table next to me. The oysters were so tiny and tasteless, the special of the night — Tuna, was poorly cooked, chewy and lacked flavor. ahhh shucks I am so disappointed, and really wish I could have my money back!

I was with a party of 3. The ambiance was very nice as we were seated outside. Lobster bisque was not creamy and did not have a good flavor. The shrimp scampi was flavorless. The shrimp was over cooked and had no garlic. The wait staff was attentive. We were not pleased with the food and would not recommend.

We visited the café last night just as they were opening, the staff seemed a bit frazzled/weren’t ready for customers, it was about 5:19pm, I assume they open for dinner at 5pm, and there was no one there… but seated us right away in the outdoor patio seating. We were offered bottled water, refused, and were happy to drink Diet Cokes. The bread and oil, meh. The oil was not right. The food, a bit pricey, was good. Caprese salad, beef carpaccio, gorgonzola salad and a burger cost us $ 64.00 for two. No drinks, but the martini list look amazing. Our server was a nice, older gentleman, with a good attitude and great memory. I would have sat and lingered there for hours — had we the time. Nice, quiet, great date place.
