Very underrated Mexican food joint in the Providence area. It’s a little hard to find if you’ve never been to the area before since it is tucked around the corner and off the main road. Walking in you are able to seat yourself almost all the time and there is very little wait. You get the customary chips and house salsa-which is probably the best in town for flavor. There is a bar option as well and about 6 TVs playing largely Soccer and other Mexican broadcasts(adds to feel of the place I think). The menu is very extensive and mostly contains traditional Mexican American favorites. I would recommend the Charrito’s wraps(also on the lunch menu for ~$ 7.50). You get 2 chicken or steak wraps with rice, beans, Mexican salad, and a small cup of cheese dip, a very tasty and good value. The service is excellent. Every time I come here it is fast and accurate. The food last time I was there came out in 5 – 8 minutes. Prices overall are about average or slightly lower in lost cases and there are specials posted regularly. My only complaint is that some of the dishes are not overly flavorful, and the cheese dip I had last time seemed to have been over heated(tasted a bit burnt and was super liquidy). All in all though this is one of the top 5 Mexican places in town– give it a shot!

So far, there’s about 15 of us(not in one big group, just groups of people) in a line. Nobody has had their name taken down, not greeted, not told wait times, all the staff is just oddly glancing at this line… I feel like I’m in an episode of Bar Rescue? Is this real life? We’ve been here 30 minutes… the couple in front 35… the staff still hasn’t even talked to us… what is this place?!?

Food was good and I love the patio area but the service was SO slow. There were 2 other people outside and 4 at the bar inside and I still waited almost 10 minutes with an empty drink before being offered a refill(by the bartender through the window, not by my server). And trying to cash out was an even longer wait.

Really good food. The burrito is huge and pretty delicious. The Taquitos my wife got were pretty out of this world. The margaritas are extremely good. We just moved to this area and decided to try it because it’s close and were very pleased with it. A must try!

The service and chips and salsa are the main reasons for my rating. «We don’t have cherry Pepsi, but I can make it for you». Now that’s good service! I ordered a chimichanga which said it was deep fried on the menu, but when I got it, it was just lightly fried and still looked pretty white on the outside and was not crunchy and crispy on the outside as I expected. Also if you order this item, I recommend asking them not to put bell peppers and onions inside because it just makes the burrito soggy. Also, the atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant was great.

The service at Charrito’s is always terrific; order a frozen margarita and you will be pleasantly surprised at the size of your drink and the taste of the cocktail. I normally ask for the chicken fajitas. Hot, delicious … And more food then you can eat. Be prepared to share or take home for later after your next frozen margarita.

Just found out that this is the same that was on South Parkway(used to be Pepitos then Charritos) absolute favorite place growing up. The chicken tostadas are a complete favorite of mine. Prices are great, the chicken tostadas were better than I remembered and the drinks were strong. I can’t wait to come back now that I know where it is! The inside is extremely clean and the wait staff is great.

The food and customer service is always good. Me and husband have gone there several times and it sure won’t be our last. Our favorite dish is their carne asada. Delicious. Thank you.

This HASTOBE a better location for them than S. Parkway. Has to be. I’ve passed them headed for airport Rd. for over a decade now and never had the inclination to stop in but guess what… Snow week plus out-of-town family = try Charritos! I lamented the fact that Tony’s wasn’t here anymore… until stepping in and seeing what the Charritos team did with the place. It’s as good if not better as a nice little cantina. Our server was nice and they got it moving in the kitchen. I had macho(«big») grill(not the real name) that was an assortment of sautéed peppers, three meals and a skewer of shrimp along with 3 grilled jalapeños to add a little heat. That plus their top shelf margarita had me in thumbs up land. The rest of the fam had fish tacos, taco salads and even a veggie plate. No complaints and all smiles. Solid Mexican fare, extremely good service and a really comfortable setting. 3.5 stars.

While staying in the Homewood suites I have eaten at this place more than I care to talk about. Its next door :) Pros: fastest orders ever! From the time I hang up the phone and walk next door(no more than 2 minutes) to the place the order is sitting on the counter. Amazing! Cons: Food is not that hot temperature wise. Literally. Maybe cuz it was made so fast? The chicken chimichanga is da bomb. Chile colorado is good too. Be advised that not all the combo plates come with rice and beans… Good stand by place if you’re in a hurry. Solid food.

I’m sitting here right now. Service was quick and the food was very good. I’m from Az and I can’t find good Mexican food too often, but here it is. Good chili relleno and enchilada! Good salsa also.

Went there yesterday, I love the location very nice restaurant, nice décor, the host was awesome took great care of us. I love the fajitas great taste what sets them apart from other fajitas is the option to add fresh cut jalapenos to the fajitas so you get the pepper taste cooked into the meat which is awesome!!! I love there salsa and cheese dip as well. I got a generous amount of food especially since it was from their lunch menu all at a great price.

Caught a quick late lunch around 2:15 and the place was empty. Nice décor, decent food… I had the lunch Fajitas(steak). Good, but average. At only $ 7.49 it was well worth it. In the Providence neighborhood, which is a great plus.

Charritos has only been open about 3 months in Providence after moving their location from Memorial Pkwy. The food is truly authentic and the margaritas are fantastic. Glad to see a Mexican restaurant in Providence with great food and atmosphere.

Mex place where Tony’s Little Italy was, in Providence. Moved here from S. Parkway. I give ‘em a four and a half. Check them out!
