Our breakfast was surprisingly delicious and portions were huge. A little too much… Fast service and clean, friendly environment.

Okay food, like any diner. Doesn’t serve breakfast all day which is a huge disappointment. Especially on a lazy Saturday morning and all you want is an omelette at 10:45.

Came for lunch before a meeting given the reviews on Unilocal.Friendly service, nice relaxed atmosphere and good food. I really wanted some of the specials but given I was going into a meeting, thought it best to keep it light. I had the chicken salad sandwich and a side of hashbrown casserole. Both were very good. My colleague had the stuffed tomatoe and fried okra which he agreed were excellent as well. Would recommend if looking for a quick bite while in Huntsville.

Good food, but slightly overpriced. Service can be be a little slow at even moderately busy times. The food is consistent and prepared well. In my years of eating breakfast out, this in one of precious few places I’ve found which knows how to cook eggs over easy but the cheese grits were however disappointing, best go with plain grits or hash browns.

Good food, big portions, fair price at a reasonable fast pace! They get super busy but have no problem meeting the demand! My favorite it turkey and dressing. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the daily specials.
My one very minor complaint is the to-​go boxes. They do a great job packaging the sides separate but the main plate has no compartments. Making a «roll» or whatever soggy! Other than that … love the place and recommend to ALL!

So I live within five minutes of this place and I like to go often. Why? Because it’s delicious. The breakfast in general, and the hashbrown casserole are my favorites. Breakfast by far takes the win over lunch and dinner though. I say this only because it is consistent, whereas sometimes my lunch is better or worse than other days. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because of their waitresses. Specifically the females. Every male waiter I’ve had has been on his A game and seems to be busting ass for his co-​workers. I have never had a friendly female waitress, and they seem annoyed that you don’t know what you want to eat the second you sit down. Times I have sat at the bar alone, they typically have walked past me, looked, and waited on someone else to take my order. Two of the times, the manager had to come take my order and apologized for his staff not doing their job. Overall, the food is great if you can handle the shitty service.

I just left Blue Plate Café, and honestly it’s a bit disappointing since review I’ve seen have all been pretty positive. I will say that I didn’t order off of the daily menu, personally. I ordered a chicken tender sandwich. The chicken tenders were nothing special. I’m pretty sure they are just generic frozen tenders. I expected something else since a chicken tender dinner was on their specials for the day. My husband got a chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and beans. It was better than my chicken. The mashed potatoes were dry, but at least there was gravy on them to help. The only really good item we got was the potato soup. That was delicious.
Our server was not very good. I can’t remember her name, but she wasn’t friendly. I needed extra time to decide what I wanted. The second time she came back I still had my menu in hand looking at it, but she made it pretty clear that she was tired of waiting. We waited about 10 minutes on our check when we were finished eating. They weren’t busy. I’m pretty sure we were the only table she had. She just disappeared for a while. She did bring us drink refills once, though.
Although this isn’t the worst place I’ve ever eaten, I likely won’t go back.

Best fried chicken in Huntsville. The new location is so much nicer than the original location on Governors. The food is seasoned better and spaciousness is much nicer. Always great prices.
