My favorite hidden gem in Huntington. Love the late night menu, ambiance, and overall awesomeness. Thanks!

This is my favorite Restaraunt. Moved to Huntington last year and haven’t been able to find a better spot. The food is second to none. Chef Bruno nails it every time. Daniel the owner is such a cool dude and very knowledgable about the delicious wines and their best pairings. This place has the best truffle fries I’ve ever had. Other great choices include the North Atlantic Diver Scallops, the Grilled Bratwurst, and the Fuzi pasta. Always open late which is amazing for the night owls like me. All the other servers/bartenders are super nice too(John, Chelsea, Kristen). Very cozy atmosphere with some relaxing Brazilian music always rockin. Man I love this place, always feels like home.

FANTASTIC! small place but went early on a Friday night and got a couch for 2. It was perfect. During a round of cocktails we ordered a charcuterie board with manchago cheese, salami, and ham that ca, e with warm bread, olives and fig jam. After looking at the menu and not knowing what to order we asked the manager/owner to pick 4 small plates for us… he NAILEDIT! He brought us the fig and Serrano ham with Brie crostini. Then we had the lamb meatballs that were hot and caramelized outside and moist inside. The sesame crusted tuna was freed and delish. The scallops were cooked perfectly and came on a bed of cauliflower mash that was tasty. The wine that we paired was great and we were always asked if we needed another drink. And last but not least the palatschinken(crepes) filled with Nutella and served with a side of their home made bourbon ice cream was the end to a great dinner. Can’t wait to get back there soon.

Big building Tiny place off the main streets of Huntington. Went for my fiancée’s birthday. The owner was the host, bartender, waiter and busboy all in one. He definitely needs help as he is doing way too much all by himself. Nice wine suggestion though. We had the only 2 seat table which had comfy chairs but lounge comfy it made it a bit difficult to sit up to eat. I think there was a bachelorette party or something when we got there they were a bit loud. Food was out very quickly which ventures me to think if they were prepared before we came in. The wings were awesome really enjoyed those. It was an average experience can’t def. say that I would go back difficult to as there are so many great places in Huntington to eat.

Update: some changes here recently that were heartbreaking for me to see, but from a business standpoint, I totally get. First, my wonderful, charismatic Aldo has since retired so right there the place lost a little panache. The new manager seemed nice enough and I’m sure I’ll warm up to him. Second, they have taken out the couches and small tables and replaced with row seating, high stools kinda crammed in to a small space. I understand you have to increase seating to accommodate more people, it’s just lost its intimacy, its specialness. And no live music on a weekend night. In fact I can’t even recall any music, just the scowl on the young barmaid’s face.

Excellent food and service! Yes it can get crowded but the food makes up for it. Try the chicken wings and the meatballs!

Much too cramped, with the exception of two tables along the wall, no space. No order as to how the small plates are served. Not really a dining experience but ok for a drink and snack.

Having moved from Brooklyn and it’s endlessly fresh and inventive restaurant choices, we have been a little underwhelmed by the Huntington scene. Bin 56 is definitely an exception. The manager is the most welcoming and charming guy and always makes us feel like he has been waiting for us to join him. The food is so special and always delicious. My favorite meal used to be the bacon wrapped dates at ABC Carpet’s Pipa in the city and lo and behold they have them here! Bacon wrapped dates with gorgonzola and balsamic drizzle… YUM. The Greek meatballs with tzaziki dip never disappoints, the Asian chicken wings are the best wings I’ve ever had, and the flatbread specials are always crisp and unique. I kind of wish he would expand as I would love to sit slightly more comfortably but maybe that would take away from the charm of this place.

This was my first time at Bin 56. The place is tiny and was absolutely packed on a Saturday night. With reservations on hand we did not experience any wait. The waitress attentively took our drink orders and brought them in shakers pouring in chilled glasses. Unfortunately, she mixed up the shakers and my cosmo ended up in a glass with olives that was meant for a dirty martini. We did not make a big deal out of it, mistakes happen. Water was not offered at all, so finally we had to ask for it. We ordered calamari, which arrived first. Very greasy, with some sort of onion souce on them made me a bit sick. My friend ordered tuna, which was good, and we shared scallops, which were again soaked in oil… «Why so much greasy food?», we wondered. Neither of us is a fan of fatty food, even if it tastes good. This did not. Finally, the service was very slow. One waitress and the owner for the whole place could not handle the volume, I guess. Definitely not coming back.

Perfect for late(er) night food. It was 11:00pm and I was starving and looking for something that wasn’t a diner. We made a stop at a new hipster place in Huntington and due to our non– hipster status, we were totally ignored and subsequently walked out. Now what? Bin 56. Late night menu and close by. We sat at the bar and were attentively served by the bartender and the owner. Both names escape me but they were super friendly and professional. Excellent service. We had the fried calamari to start and it was awesome. Then the Burger I had been craving arrived and it was perfectly cooked and exactly what I needed at that moment. We also had crispy, delicious fries with truffle oil. Everything was on point. Bin56 Really exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to go back for dinner at a normal hour and sample their wide variety of wines and truly spend some time exploring their menu.

Lovely intimate spot in Huntington village that’s open late nites. We went on a Thursday evening and were pleasantly surprised by both the food and service. We ordered fried calamari, salmon, a pasta dish, and a flatbread special all of which exceeded our expectations. The waiter/bartender was friendly and knowledgable and made some excellent recommendations from a varied wine list that was far from run of the mill. All in all it was a very good spot for a small intimate dinner.

I was searching Unilocal for a place to take my fiancé out for his birthday dinner. I came across bin and decided to go. I’m so glad I did! We had a Malbec, and started with the Manchego cheese plate. Then we had Montauk calamari, seared tuna, truffle pasta, shrimp risotto, and the special of the evening which was skirt steak with Brussel sprouts and fried onions. Everything was excellent – flavorful, perfectly seasoned & fresh. Dan was our server and he was great! He was very attentive and recommended menu items for us. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a birthday meal to remember!

Bin56 is my favorite low key spot in Huntington… Its so nice to be able to sit and relax and enjoy AMAZING food! I highly recommend the lamb meatballs… I have been dreaming about them since I had them! Also recommend the truffle fries… I feel like the portions have gotten so much bigger! The owner recommended 2 – 3 per person, but we were fine with 2. Bin is an absolute must!!!

Bin 56 is a tiny restaurant and while there are some things that I didn’t love, overall this is a solid spot with very good food and an amazing wine list. This place is tiny, there are maybe 3 lounge style tables(living room style chairs with small tables), 1 small bistro table and a large communal table. I have to say I hate, I mean HATE, communal seating at a restaurant. Hell, I don’t even like it if my table is too close to another table when I go out. So to me this was a big negative, but with limited choices we ended up sitting there. Also, because this place is so tiny, it gets loud quickly, be prepared. There appears to only be two people working as servers, the bartender and the maitre d. Shortly after we sat the bartender came over to take our drink order. She got both wrong. My wife ordered a glass of white champagne and I ordered a Bluepoint Summer Ale, my wife received a glass of rose champagne and I received a Greenport Summer Ale. Close, but not what we ordered. We didn’t say anything because both were good, but really it shouldn’t be too hard to remember 2 drink orders when you have to walk 10 feet away to get them, maybe she should try writing them down. Just saying. 15 minutes went by and she finally came back to take our order, if the place was busy I would have been a bit more OK with this, but there was only maybe 3 other couples at this time. We ordered 3 different tapas, fried calamari, crab and lobster cakes and Jack Daniels BBQ Short Ribs. The fried calamari was AMAZING. Honestly the best I’ve had in a long time. Fresh, fried perfectly and topped with a delicious sauce. The crab and lobster cakes were exactly that, crab and lobster. Some places load these up with fillers, not Bin 56. They were flakey and delicious just like they should be. The Short Ribs were also really good, a bit salty, but tasty. The entire time we were eating the maitre d made sure we were good with drinks. They even ran out of the champagne that my wife was drinking and he recommended another which she loved. He made up for the sub par service by the bartender. Overall, the food was 5 stars, the service was 4 stars(only because of the maitre d) and the ambiance 3 stars. Will we be back? Maybe, but only if we have a table other than the communal table.

First, I’m never a 5 star reviewer, but this place was outstanding! Downtown Huntington is about a 30 – 40 minute drive for us, so we dont typically go out of our way to go there, but tonight we had tix for a show at the Paramount. The wife & I were looking for someplace new and different, as our usual place in Huntington was not an option this night. When we called for a reservation, for 8PM, we were told that the earliest we could get was 10PM. So we rolled the dice, and walked in anyway. Hostess told us the only seats were at the chefs counter, so we went for it, and it was well worth it.(a great experience that we hope to repeat soon.) Buratta salad was outstanding, calamari was good(great chili sauce, and excellent fry on it, but the calamari itself was a little chewy), Shrimp and crab cakes were fresh and had a nice kick to them as well. Next round was a fish taco. Excellent cook on the fish, but the«Taco» was a soft tortilla, that lacked a little. That was followed by some beef sliders that were outstanding. A nice wine, beer and cocktail list as well, and everything was priced fairly. The executive chef who was serving us could not have been nicer, and took the time to answer our questions and struck up a good conversation. Waiters were quick and polite, and we managed to have a nice conversation with the GM/MAitre ‘d. We also had a chocolate cake with a peanut butter mouse, that we had to try. Wow it was well worth it! All in all, a great experience that we are looking forward to doing again very soon, and we will go our of our way to go here again.

This place has everything … Frat boys. Yoga pants. Overpriced tapas. Can you say UGH? Tapas is clearly a term that is being thrown around A LOT lately, because these were the furthest thing I’ve had from tapas, and I’ve had freakin’ tapas in Spain. This place had SMALL plates for BIG prices, $ 13 sangria, and grossly overpriced bottles of wine. I had hoped we were coming to a restaurant that had some semblance of a Spanish tapas flair(jamon serrano, patatas bravas, etc.). Instead, I ate greasy truffle fries, and bland lemony shrimp. I will say, however, that the flourless chocolate cake was divine, but I wasn’t coming here for dessert. To add insult to injury, the waitresses walk around like they are about to head to a yoga class. No, really. They had the same uniform of painted on leggings and tank tops. Talk about obnoxious. The crowd was certainly not my cup of tea, either, so I guess that look suits the sawdust-in-our-heads crowd. Needless to say, there was absolutely nothing here that would make me want to return. The next evening, we went to Plancha in Garden City, and had way better tapas, cheaper(and delicious) wine, and the dude who served us was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. BIN there, done that.
