C & J Car Wash

My experience with this car wash was not good. I was also enticed by the cheap price. But heed caution. It’s dilapidated exterior should be indicative of what awaits you. my car slid as it was finishing the wash cycle. I braked, honked my horn, the older grey haired guy came back, adjusted something there and led me out. Unfortunately for me, my bumper was damaged. I was told to return when the owner“Roberto” would assist me. I was given a phone number516−423−9346 which is“no longer in service”. Was told by“Cruz Valle” that my damage was minor compared to the other mishaps they’ve had! AVOID THIS PLACE if you value your vehicle. they are RUDE and dismissive. a costly lesson for me

Quick exterior drive through wash. Also called «New York Aveue Car Wash» located on the corner of 13^th Street (across from Guiseppe’s Pizza). Only $ 7 for car (basic wash) or $ 8 SUV and you don’t even have to get out of the car, quickest wash in town. They don’t do the interior (you do. vacuums on the side for 75¢, most of the time I don’t bother with that). I usually go for the Super Wash ($ 9) which is more fun because lights blink while you’re driving through.
I love driving through the car wash… been going here since I was a kid. Even after passing through the blow dryer the car is not totally dry when you come out of here and there may still a few leaves stuck under the wipers. This is not a deluxe wash. But it’s just going to get dirty again anyway so drive around a little and it will air dry or BYO towel.(If you’re lookng for a really thorough car wash or a sparkling car, I recommend Aqua Wash further down NY Ave).
I’m always greeted by the same nice man who runs it, not sure of his name but he always smiles like he appreciates the business. They don’t even have a tip box so I give him an extra dollar or two before I go in. After so many years you’d think I’d be better at getting the car on the tracks and putting in in neutral.
Line is not long (if any) most of the time, but it sometimes it gets busy on a sunny Saturday and the line of cars wraps around 13^th St.
