Really authentic place! Quality, fresh and an abundant amount of food for a great price. Perfect for lunch, sandwiches before the beach, or catering!

Rivals any place in NYC or Brooklyn for authentic Italian stuff. The best fresh mozzarella that is often warm, it’s so fresh… The breads are the best on Long Island and worth the trip just for them. The speciality items in the counter are creative and delicious ranging from butternut squash risottos to spinach salads with fresh blackberries and strawberries to fried cauliflower to homeade cannoli to t-bone steaks… Been coming here for years and it’s always immaculate, super fresh and most of the dudes are genuine Italians speaking the tongue… Bravo A&S, one of the last great spots on the Island…

Kids a bone head whoever answers the phones and takes the orders. Tried placing an order for takeout, their menu saying the sandwiches cost $ 7. Took about 5 minutes to order 2 heros, ask for a total and he tells me $ 26. I told him they said $ 7 on the menu he said okay, comes back and says ok $ 32… Seriously? Cant help but laugh. Again I tell him the prices say $ 7 on the website he says«ughhhhhhh yeah this is a new, we got new menus». Went ahead and just cancelled my order and just told him maybe he should let the bosses know that needs to be changed as he blurted back«it’s not my fault!». Maybe he’s young.

Everything is fresh. The fresh mozzarella is the best you will ever have and the chicken burgers are amazing. Go once and you will be addicted. Never had one bad thing here and Frank is the best!

If I were going to the electric chair tonight, my last meal would be from A & S. A little excessive? Maybe. So what? Sue me.

The inside was much smaller than I expected. Counter help was a little gruff but was helpful. I will try to be back to pick up ideas for supper, which is what they are great for.

My go to deli/gourmet grocery. I get excited about visiting this italian market. Great spot to get lunch and grab some goodies for the house. The highlights: the paninis, Panko breaded flounder, salami and provolone stuffed peppers, and of course… mozzarella.

Rude. Just plain rude. Only because I am not a regular customer I do not get acknowledged like I have seen other treated. Not even a «hello how are you?» Even better, it’s very nervy when being pushed to buy more food, especially when there are no prices on anything! I know many people love and rave about this place, but have a little bit of common courtesy and decency and maybe some people will be more keen on shopping here!

amazing food and very friendly staff to help you choose just the right item… they have an amazing panini with garlic butter and eggplant with mozzarella — heated up in my toaster oven for a few minutes — such heaven after a long days work — frequently I will get their spinach or meat lasagna — 1 slice of each covers me for lunch @ work and dinner for a few nights — and believe me… I can eat this every day/night!!! They have so many items to choose from you cannot go wrong. They show amazing skill and pride in their food creations and there is nothing better for home cooked Italian food when you cant cook at home. I look forward to having them cater my sons communion in MAY… Keep it up guys!

Decided to try lunch from here today, got a chicken parm hero, got back to work(3 blocks away) hero was like warm at best, chicken was tuff and seems to be premade, frozen and then reheated, not very good. Hade to heat it up in the microwave to made it eatable. So I will not be returning for lunch.

If you want the best sandwich of your life, stop in and ask Big Frank, Carlo, and the boys at AnS for the«Italian Special» on a semolina hero with the balsamic glaze. Truly outstanding. Feels like Satriale’s from The Sopranos(that’s a good thing). Absolutely worth the trip if you’re anywhere near Huntington and love Italian cuisine like I do.

This is a great«hidden» Italian deli. It’s situated in a plaza with a massage parlor and a tanning salon, and it is right off Jericho Turnpike, so if you’re moving quick, you may miss it. They have a huge selection of freshly prepared dishes from Italian meatballs and sausage to custom made items like prosciutto balls(which are a party in your mouth, made with ricotta and mozzarella). They have a good selection of dry pasta as well as packaged fresh red sauces. They can make custom sandwiches and paninis if you want something for lunch, and they had a cooler with drinks near the back. One of the best Italian delis I’ve been to, it’s dangerous because every time I’m in here, I want to buy everything in site. The staff is always friendly and eager to help you get in and out. It’s rarely been crazy busy every time I’ve been in, but I’m sure it does get hectic. If you’re anywhere in close proximity and either need something to cook for dinner or need a quick pick me up for lunch, be sure to come here, trust me you won’t regret it. 5 stars.

Quality food. Staff is friendly. Gives you a hometown feeling. If you’re looking for specialty ingredients odds are they have it. Side note: they also have these rainbow cookies that are fantastic. Pick a container up as you check out… worth every calorie. ;-)

These guys are awesome! They treat with you with respect even for small order. I had first tried Emilio and they were tooarrogant and unwilling to help a small catering order. I recently had a party catered for my wife baby shower and her girlfriends . They catered it beautifully with nice display and on time delivery. I was told the bruschetta and eggplant parmigiana was great. Not to mention these guys are 100% Italian so the food is legit. There is an older guy named Carlos who is very funny and helpful . Will definitely come back and support local business !

Reminds me of the old«pork store» I used to go to with my grandma in Astoria. A little expensive but totally worth it.

Ordered two heros and Italian and a prosciutto. The Italian was alright. The prosciutto was just ok too. The bread was too hard and both needed extra balsamic to give it some flavor. We had two different people make the heros and one barely spoke English and the other seemed not to understand it. They were also kinda rude and overcharged us. Didn’t realize it until it was too late. This was our first time there and the last.

A & S of Huntington is one of the best of the A & S stores. Go in on the holidays and don’t bother cooking. Just order up a ½ tray or full tray of lasagne, or rollatini. Try spaghetti pie, sausage bread is good here, fresh mozzerella, sicilian olives are usually riper here than other places, and some of their deli items. They carry fresh pasta and sauces if you want to make something at home in 5 minutes too. This place puts out alot of energy at holiday time and should be considered a resource. :) No longer up on NY Ave, but down on Jericho Tpk.
