Amazing food and very friendly service. The beverages are so interesting and very quality. Some of the best traditional Nicaraguan drinks I’ve had. Even their chocolate milk is made with real cacao. Makes it easier to be away from mom’s cooking.

This place is really good and really authentic. I gave it 4 stars because they don’t have air conditioning so it’s always hot inside in the summer. I like coming here because they sell Rojita.

I was born and raised in Nicaragua. This please serve very authentic Nicaraguan food! I have tried different Nicaraguan restaurant. Tipically the people who works at the Nica restaurants that I have visited are rude and lack of customer service. Many of this restaurant don’t use authentic red beans and the gallo pinto doesn’t taste as good as it should. But not on this place. They have great customer services. Gallo pinto taste delicious. I was surprised to see only male servers but nevertheless they are really nice. Definitely I am going to make this place one of my favorites.

Do not eat here. The food is ok, don’t get me wrong. The service was awful. Half my order was missing. To top it off, it was hotter than hell in there. On a 90 degree day, it was cooler to be outside. This was our first, and last, time here.

Décor: needs a hand, 2, 3, 4… Hands from the remodeling fairy. Cust. Serv: friendly, brush up on your spanish. Family owned and ran. Food: tajadas and encurtido(chilero) if the onions were smaller and thinly sliced we have a homerun. Repollo a little sweet, I am used to a hint of vinegar and salt in it, add ice to your Cacao just a little too sweet. Gallo Pinto… it’s a homerun. Costillas de chancho Frito, carne asada awesome, yuca, maduro, Queso frito, pitaya, ceveda really, really goos. Be advice, postpone your diet the day you go. Price: great for the portions and how good the food is. Word of advice the place is not your posh, eclectic, modern/industrial revival architecture or décor, far from it, so go for the food. The locale is driven by necessity to share Nicaraguan cuisine and fill the hunger of a very small congregation of ex-pats. The palate of this very, very ethnic cornucopia are dairy, oil, curry infused meats with just the right amounts of vinegar, lemon and encurtido(chilero) if raising the temperature in your mouth is your thing(chile is not hot, is just good enough to complement your dish or las tajadas).

This place is ok if you’re in the area and don’t want to drive far to eat Nica food. The cacao is delicious but the food taste different. I’m not from Nicaragua but I was introduced to the food a little over a year ago. I’ve always gone to this other restaurant in DTLA so I guess I expected the food to taste the same which it didn’t. The people were nice. The restaurant is a little too small if you want to take a large group.

This spot is actually one of the most authentic & delicious Nicaragüense spots. Take it from someone who is 100% Nicaragüense, has visited the mother land so many times & has tried just about every Nica spot in Los Angeles. Out of all the other restaurants this one is my favorite; the food never lacks flavor, tortillas are always made by hand, and the cheese is perfectly fried(There’s nothing like homemade tortillas). The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because you do wait longer than most restaurant but it is worth the wait.

The food is great and authentic, the food itself is 5 stars. The Staff is friendly but and i mean a big BUT… the amount of time they take to bring you even a glass of water on their busy hours is amazingly long. If you are in a rush do not go because you will be disappointed. If you have time and are willing to wait and don’t mind reminding the waiter or waitress to bring you whatever you ask for then go for it. The best time to go is during the week when they are not so busy. The food is very tasty, very Nicaraguan and the drinks are also great my favorite is the Maracuya and cacao. If they could get more staff i think it be much better. It has alot of potential.

Highly recommend this place. My husbands family is nicaraguen, so we decided to have a good traditional dinner that would remind them of their country and introduce me to it. Food is delicious and it’s clean. The chimichurri is amazing and everyone’s else’s dish was good as well. Owner is very friendly. Service us a bit slow but it’s worry the wait.

The food was delicious. I am hardly ever on this side of town but decide to try out this place. We almost missed this place because its so small. Could use some air conditioner because my hubby was just sweating sitting in his chair. He had a beef chimmichuri not sure if that’s the correct spelling. It was savory and very good. I had chicken a la plancha also very good. I also took 2 plates home to bring to my sister and mom. Both loved it. Will definitely go back.

Half of me was really excited(I’m ½ Mexican ½ Nicaraguan) when my dad told us he wanted to eat Nicaraguan food for Father’s Day. He told us that he liked this place and wanted to introduce it to us. I guess that old man has a little inner-foodie in him after-all. This restaurant is a glorified living room and backyard– but not in a bad way. It is the epitome of «hole-in-the-wall» located in between a barber shop and 99 cent shop. It’s a serious home-cooking experience with great service and awesome food! Party time. 1. Fritanga– sampler plate that’s more like a party on a plate. Gallo pinto(rice&beans cooked with onions), tajadas(thin plantain chips), chancho(fried pork), salchicha(pork sausage), carne asada, queso frito(fried cheese-mind blowing) and ensalada de repollo(vinegar& cabbage salad). All are amazing! 2. Chimichurri — a skirt steak grilled and topped with chimichurri. Epic! 3. Cacao– Nicaragua’s version of chocolate milk. It’s better than any chocolate milk you’ll ever have. Don’t be afraid of the area, this is a humble family owned business with great food. You won’t regret it.
