The sushi selection consists of 2 choices. It’s a teriyaki place so I didn’t expect much.
Good deals! Bang for your buck
Came here because it’s next to my tanning salon.
I got the California roll $ 4.99
And a drink $ 8.00
and the teri chicken bowl $ 5.29

The service was great. When we first walked in we were greeted with a smile and hello. The portions are generous and the quality is great. There is also extra homemade teriyaki sauce at every table which is always a plus for teriyaki lovers like myself. The atmosphere is bright and beachy and there is positive, uplifting music playing.

They are SOOO stingy on sauce. They dont give much of the hot sauce nor the teriyaki sauce. I always offer to pay extra for it, and the chick who works the register always points at the sign that says 2 small sauce containers per bowl/​plate, and that I must pay extra for more. It gets very frustrating that she always goes through this lecture even though I ALWAYS offer to pay for extra sauce BEFORE hand.
The food is alright. Not bad, but definitely nothing special. Portions are good if you don’t like veggies. I ordered half and half, and i only got 4 broccoli florets, and 1 carrot slice. Super lame. A lot of rice like most teriyaki places. It’s so close to my house, but I’d rather drive a little further if it means I can skip the lecture/​nagging.
I will probably only eat Yamas again if my husband picks up dinner from here and brings it home for me to eat, haha. Seriously not a fan.

Came here with the bf to take a break from our usual teriyaki joint. I ordered the chicken and veggie bowl. Prices are fair. The food was okay, not bad. I felt like they were stingy on the teriyaki sauce and there were NO green onions! You definitely have to ask for more sauce and green onions. I didn’t know that at this place you actually have to request or ask for green onions (I saw another guy requesting it!). That’s crazy bc that’s what teriyaki is– a bunch of rice topped with grilled meat that’s topped with teriyaki sauce that’s topped with a hint of green onion for color! Too bad I found out about the green onions after I gobbled my food up! Dining experience was uneventful. Forgot what happened but I do remember feeling that the owner was kinda mean to the worker. Anyways, I’ll probably stick to Nikko! Here, only if I’m really super nearby!

I love coming here to get a quick lunch or dinner from time to time. It’s close to my house, so I usually walk here with my toddler! We love the rice and beef rib plate. I especially love the vinegary hot sauce they have on the tables!
The gal that I usually see working here is so sweet and I love saying hi to her!

Spent about $ 8 here this evening for a very mediocre meal. I’d seen some shout outs on Facebook for this place and thought I’d give them a try. Ordered a small chicken and veggie (with brown rice) plate and asked for teriyaki sauce on the side twice. I took it to go and wrongly assumed the sauce would’ve been thrown in the bag as well. I got a very small portion of over cooked chicken and a large portion of cabbage. I’ll be sticking with Fuji Grill in the future.

Got this place today it was delicious ! My new favorite teriyaki spot. I got the chicken teriyaki my boyfriend got the beef and chicken teriyaki, and we shared a crunch roll. Everything was good and the meat is real meat! I will definitely be back soon!

There are days when Yamas is amazing but there are times when the meat is tough to chew and substandard. The sauce is good, the portions are decent and things are priced fairly. The good days are 4 star, but the bad are a 2.

One of the best teriyaki bowl places you could ever go to! The rice is always moist, meat always tender, and staff is always on point. I usually order take out and it’s always done within 10 minutes and the place is always clean. My job relocated me to south county but I still make occasional visits to yamas.

Great place for lunch especially if you only have 8 bucks in your pocket.
Daily specials from 11 – 3, most under 7 bucks and are freshly made to order. How can you say no? Because you want jack in the box that’s why!!! You go eat that garbage and hate yourself, I’ll be here enjoying the freshness of my beef & chicken bowl. Don’t be shy with that Sriracha sauce, it’s the nectar of the gods. True story.
Anyway, if you’re in the need of a quick and healthy lunch, then yamas is the ticket!

Just a no-​nonsense place to grab a quickie lunch.
I just don’t know why the owners would want to post up so many signs (but handwritten with a marker!).
I would advise to use MicroSoft word and type it up and print out your signs.
I gave it four stars because of convenience and it satisfies my occasional teriyaki bowl desires.
