2 stars for ambience– sushi was mediocre. Freshly prepared, the fish quality was meh– Service was ok– happy to be seated easily as we came later than the usual crowd– 8;30 pm on a Tuesday. Had several rolls and the maguro– ponzu sauce was way over done– way to vinegary. Wont be back. As there are tons of other places for the same $ and effort to get here

We had a great experience. My kids and I have a gluten sensitivity and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions. They were great to inform us that their soups, and dressing had soy sauce. They made us a special dressing with tamari, sesame oil and lemon that was very tasty. My kids got to experience teppanyaki in spite of their allergies.

We came for sushi and overall the food was good and the service was good. We thought the Calamari appetizer had too much batter and was too greasy… we’ll skip it next time… the Calamari roll was good though. Neither of us cared for the taste of the Spider roll. The only major complaint I have is that I had a Groupon and when I pulled it up on my phone to show the server I was expecting her to write the Groupon number down and hand my phone back. But instead she took my UNLOCKED phone and walked away with it and I don’t mean she walked over to the bar or the cash register within my view(which I would still be a little bothered by). No, she walked into the back room of the restaurant completely out of my site for a good 1 – 2 minutes. That is unacceptable in my opinion and would be the same as taking a customer’s wallet or purse away from them and walking into the back room because they needed your CC.

Love LOVE LOoooOVeE this spot. Its the best hidden gem in town. We been coming here since last year in May sometime. From the sports and TV’s for the Man to the bar and teppan chefs. People walk in from every walk of life and there’s always a good vibe and packed house. Great for dinner or drinks… or both! The Staff are all friendly and chill no matter how much you order… and we order alot!!! Dam near everything on the menu!!! Come check it out.

The staff are super friendly with good service, but the quality of the food is lacking. The taste and flavor of the fried rice and noodles was not that good, it could be better. I ordered the $ 28 filet mignon steak and for the price of this steak, it was lacking in flavor and taste and I was disappointed. The fried rice needed flavor and salt. But I do love this place and the service was good for my party of 7. I have been to Benihanas several times and their food is awesome and very good, and I was expecting this same level of quality but not here. The fried rice at Panda Express is better. But their sushi rolls are awesome!

That was a fake apology just like your responses to all the other bad reviews. I’ve since been invited by friends back to this place. My experience was so bad I refuse to ever patronize the place again and I tell my story to anyone that asks. Check out Slo Fish on Bolsa Chica. Way better food and service.

Tasteless. Long wait and servers seem too busy to be attentive… The sushi is ok but the grill has no flavor. Salt anyone?

The best teppan place around! I always enjoy having dinner here. The staff is always super friendly and the cooks are fantastic. I was here recently and I’m due for another trip back here soon! Keep doing what you’re doing Tsunamis!

The place is quite run down compared to two years ago when I was there. The sushi was ok but not super cold and I’m one that prefers my raw fish cold. The restaurant has a funny smell and that is most likely due to walls of oil from the Teppanyaki cooking methods they use. Our waitress Friday night 4÷8÷16 tall young blonde was the sweetest girl and very efficient which is why i even gave two stars. Wish i could remember her name. Our wine — ‘Justin’ Cabernet was great, but we already know that, what was hard to stomach is the $ 60 price tag. Yikes. I get it for some places but this place doesn’t even have table cloths on the tables so i don’t see the logic in over pricing. Unfortunately, we wont go back again. I would much rather pay a bit more knowing Ill get quality good food in a clean environment. P. S. Parking was a pain as well.

I’ll start off by saying the food was great. Wonderful sushi rolls that were delicious. Everything else was not so great… Started off by being told there was a 30 minute wait for a table for two on a Wednesday night. Ok, maybe it’s just a happenin place. Only catch, is that they do not take reservations. I’d hate to see the wait on a Friday or Saturday night. I won’t be coming back if I always will be waiting for a table. Apparently I wasn’t the only one experiencing a not so awesome time, as another customer basically made a scene at the front desk because she was waiting so long. That confirms, it’s probably not just me. Due to the wait, we asked if we could be seated at the sushi bar. They said that was fine to get us seated earlier. Apparently we chose a horrible place to sit, maybe that was on us. Every time the door opened there was a massive blast of cold wind that hit us. On a few occasions, the door stayed open, and no employees bothered to close it, so I had to get up and close it myself. This added nicely to our wait time… Finally, we got our food, it was great, but after a while, we still hadn’t received the third roll. We asked the sushi chef and he seemed like he had no idea what we were talking about. We pointed to the roll on the paper we had marked and he replied that he just didn’t see it. Honest mistake, it happens, but overall experience was just horrible. At that point, we just said forget it, and let’s get the heck out of here. In short, great food, bad customer experience all around. The experience is what makes me inclined not to go back… Suggestion: Please accept reservations. I might come back.

I ordered the roasted garlic roll and the steak fried rice. Both were good and flavorful. Bartenders poor a stiff drink and staff is always friendly to us. Roger the chef cooks a mean steak!

My husband and I just went here for the first time and it will probably be the last. First, we sat in the cocktail area, which I think was the first mistake. Service was super slow, probably because we weren’t sitting in a booth or the teppan area. Secondly, our food was lackluster and took forever to come out. We ordered two rolls(one for myself and one for my husband), a hand roll for me, and an order of sushi for my husband. The first thing that came out was my roll, but it took about an additional half an hour for everything else to sporadically to come out. I tried to pace myself so that I wasn’t completely finished with my dinner before my husband got his dinner. Lastly, into the 2nd or 3rd bite of my hand roll, I bit into a piece of tin foil and accidentally swallowed a piece of it! I posted a pic of the piece of foil I pulled out of my mouth. It took forever for us to flag down our waitress… we can see her chatting with the other patrons/staff on the other side of the restaurant. Once we got her attention, she asked if I wanted another hand roll made, but I didn’t want another one since I literally had a bad taste in my mouth and figured it would take forever for a new one to be made. We asked her to take the hand roll off the bill. I understand… Stuff happens. Every once in a while, something makes it into your food that shouldn’t be there. In my case, the tin foil could have been cooked into the rice by mistake. So I’m not really too upset with the tin foil being in my food. But usually in cases where you find a foreign object in your food at a high-end restaurant, a manager will come to the table and offer a sincere apology. At which point, they normally offer a free dessert or comp something off the bill for the trouble. WEGOTNOTHING! We had reluctantly eaten the rest of our dinner since it took forever for the food to come out and we were starving. Even after the hand roll was taken off the bill, we spent about $ 50 and still left the restaurant hungry. The portions weren’t filling at all. My husband and I don’t get to eat out on a date night very often; we have a toddler at home and I don’t have a job at the moment. So this whole ordeal was so disappointing on so many levels.

Pretty disappointed. Although we did come on broke Wednesday, I still expected the teppanyaki flare. There was no egg flips, no onion volcano, etc. In addition the yum yum sauce that’s traditional was absent. The cook was also sick and consistently blowing his nose. The noodles taste like noodles with soy.

Oh man. I was in my miss piggy mode and skipped the photo of my salmon skin hand roll. Totes wish I had a photo of that savory slice of pavlov’s life experiment(not everyone will get that). Also had the sunset roll. The sunset roll was ok but the salmon skin roll is where it’s at. I’ll be back… catch ya next time!

Food was good. Sushi serving size is large so don’t order too much the first round, you can always get more. The New York Terryaki was average. Meat was tender but flavor was nothing special. Tempura was very good — not over cooked. This place is in a strip mall but once inside you wouldn’t know it. The décor is nice, comfortable. Can be a little loud. Price is average. Service was very good.

Small tandon restaurant, great seating for eight. If you have gone to a Benihani’s this is very similar only smaller. We each ordered a combo plate which was cooked right in front of us. Steak filet and shrimp seemed to be the popular dish. Very entertaining

The fifth star is deserved. Tsunami’s has consistently been providing excellent sushi, service, and atmosphere. Love them! Cody the sushi chef is rad. Last night we had a great time trying all different kinds of sushi. Laid back, fun, and delicious. Thanks for being awesome!
