First time here. Minus one star for no alcohol. This place is small– order at the counter then grab a table. Food is really good. I see why people order to go. Good food to go.

I stopped by after work, around 7:30pm, and ordered 2 orders of their monthly special, teriyaki chicken with rice, salad, and soup. It was to go, so I paid about $ 9 for each, got the bag, and left. Came home and sat down with my husband to enjoy our Japanese dinner, and was very disappointed. There was some green salad with 2 small pieces of carrots with no dressing, 4 tbsp. of dry rice, and about 15 pieces of quarter size chicken that was hard to chew. I don’t know how they get any stars! :/ The only star that place deserves is for the guy who takes the orders, that’s it! Will never go there again. And I don’t usually complain. Anyway, stay away from that place.

Awesome little spot. Great food and at a bargain. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl w brown rice, spam musubi, a Hawaiian Sun drink, and a miso soup for less than $ 10. Huh?! Go here

I’ve overlooked this place so many times and am sorry that I have. Tucked into the corner of a strip mall anchored by Kohl’s and Spouts sits this little gem of a fast casual Japanese food spot. — Great for take out. — A tasty poke bowl with fresh(not frozen) fish. — Nice wide range of items to choose from. — Friendly service. — Reasonable prices. Will be back when I’m in the area again.

Horrible, awful! My husband and I came in last night to order California rolls, crunch rolls, miso soup and a udon veggie tempura. Since we never tried this place before, I asked the cashier«TWICE» if the food was fresh there. She replied«yes» as soon as I got home, the rolls were falling apart and it was old… Avocado was really brown. «I really tried eating the ok looking rolls but I just end up throwing all of it away! What a waste of money! » and to top it off my husband got a stomach ache and is feeling sick today! Thank You For Lying to us and making us sick! I didn’t know your soup can be bad too! Geez! People please don’t eat here!

A pleasant surprise. Small diner like place in strip mall but don’t let that fool you. The food is tasty. I had the beef and chicken bowl which was great. Lots of meat and veggies in the bowl. Service is great nice staff. I found this place via Unilocal and gave it a chance. Will defiantly go back when in HB.

Four stars for ease of ordering and pick up. Good spot for take out. I had a specifc craving for katsu and ordered the chicken katsu here. The katsu was crunchy but not dry. Huge portions. It came with rice and a green salad. The prices are very reasonable. I saw they also had spam fried rice which sounds delicious so many next time.

my fiancé and I stumbled upon this place thanks to Unilocal! we walked in and there was one other person eating. it was 2pm so I wasn’t too worried about it. I ordered the sashimi plate. the sashimi was actually really good. it included tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and escolar. everything tasted great. my fiancé got the chicken teriyaki with tempura. the teriyaki was too salty for my taste. the tempura coating was too thick. we asked for fresh grated ginger for the tempura sauce and they brought us daikon. go figure. anyway, we will definitely come back to try other items… it was a pretty decent meal for the $ 20~ that we paid. im sure there are other items that are better. :)

My five stars is for the service and the quality of the food based on the low prices of their dishes. At $ 10 I wouldn’t expect a gourmet meal, but you get a lot of delicious food for your money. I usually get the steak teppan and there is enough leftover from dinner for a satisfying lunch the next day. The people working here are always so nice and accommodating for my special requests. It is small and I prefer eating at home so I get my food to go. I’m surprised reading some of the negative reviews, but I’ve always had a great experience here and enjoyed the food I’ve ordered.

AWFUL! Teriyaki bowl had NO teriyaki sauce at all! Sushi was bland, and the edamame was poorly microwaved. I literally could not finish my food. It was to the point that I would happily rather lose the money than go through the torture of finishing my meal. Service is non existent. The owner should look into hiring someone that isn’t her deadbeat relative.

DONOTCOMEHERE !! THISPLACEWASSOOOOOGROSS!!! My fiancé and I were looking for a sushi spot that was open before 5pm. We googled«sushi open now» and this placed popped up. So we headed straight there. We walked in and the place was small and DIRTY. I should have known right then to turn around and walk out but we like to try new places so we said screw it. We sat down and looked at the menu. The menu selection was small and plain. Nothing creative. We ordered edamame to start off with and miso soup. When the girl brought the stuff out the soup was cold and the edamame was a super small portion and tasted like they were old and soggy. We then proceeded to order 2 California hand rolls with soy paper and a California crunch roll with soy paper and an order of salmon sashimi. When we received our order I was visually disappointed. The soy paper looked yellow and old and the salmon looked pale and gritty. The California crunch roll was loosely rolled and looked like it was going to fall apart at any second. Like IDIOTS we ate a majority of the food bc we were so dayum hungry. ITWASALLSOGROSS !!! The salmon sashimi was its own catagory to say the least. My fiancé ate two pieces and when he got to the third it was so gritty and chewy he spit it out. I told the lady that worked there I was not going to pay for the salmon sashimi but I would pay for everything else even though it was horrible. THISPLACEWASSOGROSS I HADTOWRITETHISREVIEW

Their unagi don(eel rice bowl) is delicious! Big hunk of unagi, made perfectly. I’m in love. The California and crunch roll, as well as the spicy tuna hand roll were all good. I think I like the hand roll a little better.

Major hole in the wall. I’m all about supporting the little guy but this place is dirty and run down. Window sills and ledges covered in dirt, counter top and soda machine are filthy. I’m always nervous when I see a place this dirty. I think, «if they care this little about what the customer sees, what does the kitchen look like?» That being said, the miso soup was good. Lots of flavor. Spicy tuna roll was also yummy. They put avocado inside which I love. Salmon sushi was horrible. It wasn’t very good quality fish and cut badly so that you couldn’t bit into it. It was chewy when salmon should melt in your mouth. They do have good prices. I would trust their cooked food more than raw

I’ve been coming here off and on for the last 3 years. It’s a little hole in the wall in the corner of the shopping center. It’s hard to find. It’s locally owned and usually the the person working at the counter is a kid(younger in their 20’s). I must say though every time I’ve been in there the counter person is always helpful, nice and not goofing around like some other take out places. The food is good. Since the place is so small I always get my food to go. I like the Udon here. The soup base is flavorful. I’ve also had their poke bowl which was good, but not great. Their sushi is simple, but they use good grade fish so overall I really like it. Again, I like the place for takeout and the service is great and it’s locally owned.

Ordered the tempera udon and my boyfriend got the chicken udon. They give you a lot of tempera and it was a bit too oily for my stomach. I noticed little black things in my broth but wasn’t sure what it was. I also found some chicken in my soup –___– later I realized the black things were charred pieces from the chicken. Why was there charred chicken in my soup when I ordered the tempera udon?! I noticed there was a lot more charred pieces in my boyfriend’s broth since he ordered his with chicken. not very appealing. The noodles were also a bit too soft for my liking. Despite the food not being that great, the employees were nice, but I probably wouldn’t come back again.
