A bit of a wait but it’s worth it! The lead guy Josh is super accommodating :-) I stopped coming to KFc, spicy chicken at Popeyes is soo good :-)

2 times in a row and 2 times they totally mess my order up. The worst when you get home to a botched order. Not gonna drive back… It’s not hard. Chicken tender #6 meal means don’t give me boned chicken wings and legs Second time, I ask for Cajun fries. I get mashed potatoes. WTF?!! $ 15 an hour? I don’t think so!

Should have listened to the the reviews, but being out and about all day, hunger speaking to me and driving by a Popeyes(haven’t had it in years) sounded pretty good. Big mistake. The guy in the drive thru window was unpleasant, not personable and never said«you’re welcome» to my please and thank yous, and never said«hello» when I pulled into the window nor«bye, have a nice day» when I left. In fact I had to ask him if I can have sauces(he seemed perturbed when asked) and practically threw my food at me that box of chicken was falling out. No napkins or silverware in the bag(just like all other reviews). This is probably the first time(that I personally came accross) that the majority of the negative reviews were 100% accurate. If you’re starving, go ANYWHERE else. The chicken at Albertsons is 1000x better(that’s saying alot) and wayyy cheaper. Popeyes served my chicken Luke warm, at best, the biscuit was dry, mealy and cold. The Dr pepper was the best part of this meal and even that tasted watered down. So disappointed.

Looks like they’ve turned things around here for the better. We came last night for the Tuesday special. The chicken was fresh and hot. The manager came by and was wiping down each of the tables. He checked up with us to see if there was anything we needed. The cashier was friendly and helpful. Her teammate was right by her and was putting together our order as we were still placing it(awesome). It was the fastest service I’ve had at a Popeyes. The only thing I’d recommend is that they let the chicken drain more before placing it under the heat lamps because there was just wayyy too much grease dripping from some pieces. Overall huge improvement from before. I will be back.

Customer service is awesome! I called in for a big order of 50 pieces and the manager(Louie) was very polite, helpful, and professional compared to other locations I called. The girl who helped me at the register was very nice. They let me know how much time was left before my order would be done and would check in with me from time to time. I appreciated that so much! The chicken was delicious, as always. I’m sad to see so many negative reviews. You guys have my vote! Keep up the good work!

I just got done eating from this popeyes. Me and my boyfriend were pretty reluctant to try it out due to the reviews but we were so hungry and brain dead due to hunger that we ended up going through the drive thru anyways. Its GOOD! We both got a chicken strip platter and are happy with our orders. Got the sauces we requested as well. 4 stars for service and outcome of food but I feel like $ 21 for two meals is a little pricey for a mediocre fast food joint.

I am shocked to have to give them a bad review, but I have been disappointed several times eating there at this location. I was happy to have them open there, but so far, just like the other reviews, they need some serious attention to detail. The chicken is repeatedly uncooked and cold at the bone. The cajun rice is mushy and not firm. Little things like the honey packets were covered with a sticky coating of another broken package of honey, nasty. I hope the franchisee sells this location to someone that cares about making it work. I am sorry, but I have given it a try several times and have made excuses for them, but it is not an accidental business, it only works if you work it. I also notice that the management does not respond to the Unilocal reviews, so they are in over their head or just do not care. thanx

Went here on my lunch break. 2x couldn’t believe how a new restaurant could have such crappie.. Food was borderline warm. So thought I’d try 1 more time. I have a 30 min lunch break. Took 20 min to get my food. I ordered the fish platter. The person read my order back to me. Exactly what I ordered Rushed back to work. Was ready to eat my lunch 10 min later. SURPRISE! ITWAS chicken.. Will not go there again

New location in a shopping center that has a crazy may to get out onto Garfield. I went to check it out and noticed they have a new menu thats a bit confusing. Inside is new and clean but they need to clean the tables and wipe now the floors or this place is going to get nasty inside. I ordered the extra spicy chicken and it was bland, not much flavor and was dried out as it was sitting for awhile. I love fry chicken but the wasn’t good on this visit, tasted better at other locations. The service was good and employees helpful.

Delicious. Try the spicy style, it’s super tasty. Jambalaya side was just okay… but add the Louisiana hot sauce and you’ll be pleased.

We have not been to Popeye’s since they closed their other location on Beach, Today we tried their two piece special for $ 1.79(2). We added two sides at $ 1.99 each, Cole slaw and French fries. It was about 1:30 p.m. today a Tuesday. This Popeye’s does not give you two thighs like the other one did. The pieces are smaller. We always take off the breading because it is so salty and heavy with grease. After picking up our order I looked for some forks. The clerk said, «None.» They were completely out of FORKS and SPOONS! A restaurant without forks! How often does that happen? A kind gentleman gave me his unopened one. Everything had too much salt. The Cole slaw used to be great but the flavor has changed. Now too much vinegar and salt. The French fries had seasoning we did not appreciate. Looks like no more Popeye’s for good!

Brand new location. Read some bad reviews they were fairly accurate. Wing special 6 of the tiniest wings I’ve ever seen fries cold biscuit dry and cold diet coke not mixed correctly taste to much syrup. This place needs a lot of work.

I don’t understand the complaints. Yes, they were out of most sauces. But they just opened and I’m assuming this kind of oversight will be adjusted as they continue to do business. Everyone was SO friendly and helpful! I enjoyed it. I also wanna note that I went at 7:30pm on NYE, and service was still exceptional! 4 stars since they were out of most sauces but I’ll re-rate if I go again and this issue is fixed once they’ve been open for a few weeks. UPDATE: I was right! Came back 1÷15÷16 and they’re fully stocked with everything and on top of their game. 5⁄5 stars.

Token star for the poor ladies who were nice to me. But here’s the real deal: This place BLOWS. When Beach Burger closed, I had hopes something good would show up. Like the many Unilocalers who gave so many reviews for this place before it even opened, I saw the signs for Popeyes and even went to one in Santa Ana(near Grand Ave) when I was in the area. It was great. This place? Sucks. I rolled up and saw some silly 17 year old skinny twerp walking like a hard core thug wanna be, pushing some trash cans. It was quite a sight, even by Huntington Beach standards(we have a lot of 909ers moving here). I went in and ordered, and all was fine — til I got the food. It was a midweek and around 2:30pm, so it wasn’t like there was an excuse. The muffin and chicken tasted stale, but warm. Yes, a deep fried food tasted stale. That’s pretty bad. The tables were dirty. When I looked in the dining area, the skinny twerp on trash duty was being a thug, talking some nonsense very loud and with really retarded body language. So anyways, then I was reading Unilocal and found a review where others had noted the street punk gangster type occupying the gangsters paradise of the fryer area. So anyways, this place blows. Food sucks. Service from the ladies was good but ‘cooks’ are garbage. I’d hate to eat anything these twerps cook. ANDTHISISWHENTHEPLACEISNEW… it WILL get worse. So yeah, if you’re craving fried chicken, you’ll have to drive out of HB at the very least, if you care about food. If not, then try KFC on Brookhurst.

Horrible food. Just paid $ 31for three combos two 5 piece tenders combs and and 1 regular 3 piece meal. The red beans and rice were not cooked all the way. The rice was still crunchy/hard. The 3 piece combo came with one piece of chicken that was unidentifiable .it was not a leg, thigh or wing that I could tell. The fries came dumped in a bag. no and container or anything so they were cold. The chicken tenders were OK. not really crispy… And it took at least 5 min in the drive through going back and fourth with the order taker because he just couldn’t get the order right. The only reason I didn’t go back is because it’s just too far for me to bother. $ 31 down the drain for this horrible food. Apparently Popeye’s just isn’t good anymore because last time I went was a year ago to the one in Westminster and I got raw chicken… I tried calling them for over a week no answer so I called corporate and supposedly someone was to call me back. That never happened. I told myself id never go back but my son and husband wanted to give it a try this time. Nothing’s changed except at least three chicken wasnt raw!

My favorite chicken. I love the spices and the staff is always friendly. Good new establishment. Brand new building. Much better than the location in Hollywood that I used to frequent. Good value on the bucket!

I came by here after months of waiting since I havn’t had popeyes in so long. Wow was I disappointed. I went to the drive thru to order 8 pieces of chicken tenders only with no sides and was quoted a price of $ 15. I was baffled at the high price since this wasn’t on the menu so I changed it to 5 tenders and the 12 chicken wings. I went to the window and was told that they had 11 wings and they could substitute for an extra chicken strip which was fine. The guy handed me the boxes instead of putting them in a bag so I had to request for a bag which was weird because why wouldn’t they put my order in a bag? I went home and I look at the chicken wings and they were all wings and NO drumettes which was a disappointment because I had asked if I could substitute for all drumettes which they could not. So I bit into them and the wings didn’t look like it was thoroughly cooked(I should have taken a picture of em for proof). Needless to say I felt ill and nauseous after eating them and I had a couple of the tenders and they were very hard to chew. It was too breaded and overcooked. Ridiculously overpriced for the quality and I won’t be coming back there. I can’t believe they tore down Beach Burgers for this corporate crap!

Figured I would try out the new Popeyes that opened up on beach blvd. What a joke! The lines were really long. I got up to order the guy taking my order sounded like he was on drugs or something. He was not professional at all!!! Pulled up to the window to pay and noticed it looked like a bunch of confused employees! NEVER. …have I ever been to a grand opening of a business and they are so unorganized! Who is running this store and who hired these people? Corporate needs to pay a visit! Very unhappy H.B. customer. :(

3 stars because the service is friendly & the food is standard Popeyes; good chicken, fries, green beans, etc… But NORANCH at 8:00 at night?!? OK. I’m a self described DIPPER. I like my meat with something creamy I. e Ranch or some version of it. I’m seriously NOT overly picky with my food; I’m a self described foodie, I like– no LOVE– to eat, & thank goodness for a relatively quick metabolism. But ranch dressing is standard chicken accompaniment. It’s like the ying to the chicken yang. Romeo to Juliet; they pine for eachother & it’s a glorious union to your taste buds when it happens! Note to this locations owners/franchisees/investors: pay attention to what the market wants. Be PREPARED. On a basic level, every red blooded American expects a ranch option to be in stock & available for their chicken. Make. It. Happen. According to one employee tonight«sorry we actually have several things missing… I think we’re supposed to be getting a shipment in Friday». FRIDAY?!? That’s 4DAYS& potential money down the drain for this company because people WILL go around the corner to EPL to get their chicken w/ranch fix! A final note: The assumed manager never ONCE came up to me to ask about my meal(it WASN’T packed when I came in after 9pm on a Monday night so it wouldn’t have been too much out of his way), except to let me know that they were going to start mopping the floors??? Also, a guy came in after ordering from the drive through because they had gotten his order completely wrong. I think that if the group of 4 teeny boppers weren’t sitting around occupying the employees attention for the last hour, they wouldn’t be having order errors. I will be back if they get their stuff together because I like Popeyes as a chicken joint, but get the ball rolling! #ispeakthetruth
