After 20 years, Valerie is closing her store on January 15, 2016. She is currently having her close out sale. She has really put her heart into this store and I am very sad to see it go.

i am and have been a happy camper. I follow a couple of designer labels and have been lucky to find them at Valerie Blackburn’s store. I wear a large and she has my size. And her clothes are timely and in good shape. I don’t feel I am digging through merchandise I could find at goodwill. She gets my vote for best consignment store in the area, not that there is voting but just saying, if there were

I love coming here to browse around — you always find something good! The clothes are always in the best condition of any consignment store I’ve been to because they’re really meticulous in what they take in. I’ve consigned a few times as well and the percentage is a 50⁄50 split which is better than most consignment stores which is 40⁄60. Then you can use the credit you get to shop in the store~! It’s like getting free clothes, pretty much! The sale rack also has fantastic deals, you just have to be patient and come at the right time!

Non-existent service! Walked in the store but it was empty! Five minutes of waiting until a bitter old woman appears, sneers and spits out that they don’t do any bridal sales and waits for me to leave. No salutations of any type just sneering and barking like a junkyard dog. I really don’t mind if you don’t want to buy, but I don’t encourage doing business with such rude people.

Most items were $ 39.00 for the brand name items. They were in great condition; however, too high priced for consignment. I can buy a new top on sale for that price. Then I went to the GoodWill on Beach Blvd.-Brand name and better prices. will not go back to Petticoat Lane.

I love shopping consignment stores. This was definitely the worst experience I’ve ever had! When I came in, there was no one there. My husband and I were shopping the racks and about 5 mins later, the salesperson comes out. With a lukewarm ‘hello’ at best, she turns to me and asked ’ is there something that you were looking for’. I told her I was just browsing. She ignored us the rest of the time as she talked on the phone. I don’t expect to be waited on hand and foot, but at least be warm to your customers. It felt as if she didn’t want us there… They have a few high end items(bags and shoes) but it doesn’t matter to me… I won’t be coming back. Horrible. They say they are the #1 consignment store on OC… Hardly! There are WAY better shops on CDM with better inventory, cleaner items, and owners that know how to treat their customers.

Its an an ok place to shop– the prices aren’t a bargain or competetive for used clothes unless you check the sales rack but everything in there is in good condition. I’ve gone in there browsing maybe 8 times and purchased 2 items.

I love Petticoat Lane. They have really cute, in-style jeans, dresses and tops. Val is very helpful and has a good eye for fashionable items. The prices are reasonable –much better than buying at store. They only accept items that are nearly perfect, so it’s like buying new.

a great little shop right by the westminster mall, they have tons of great labels at a good price. a friend of mine used to work here, so i frequented this joint quite often, and always ended up buying something. they allow you to consign your clothes, and if they don’t end up selling, they can be donated, which is awesome.

Cleaned my closet and took a stab at consignment today. Came in with three big bags of clothes from jeans to dresses. Wasn’t sure what they would accept and was happy to find that they shared my same tastes in clothing. The owner was very nice… she walked me through the consignment process and told me what they were and weren’t looking for. While she was looking through my clothes I browsed around and was happy to find DVF dresses, Theory pants, 3 Dots dresses and an assortment of all the brand name jeans. I wouldn’t consider them cheap but reasonably priced would be more accurate considering the clothes, shoes and bags were in tip top shape. Can’t wait for my items to sell so I can go shopping here.

I have sold things in consignment many times, so on my first visit to this store I asked some regular questions. Like, do you buy the clothes outright or on account? There was also an older woman there who was asking the proprietor if they buy certain items. She was rude to both of us. She took one look at me and the first thing that came out of her mouth was we do not accept anything in trash bags. I didn’t even have anything with me! Much less anything in a trash bag! She spoke down to the older woman as if her age rendered her feeble minded and handed us brochure’s on their policies for taking in items. Evidently answering questions was beneath her. I wouldn’t sell her one left shoe.
