Terrible. Came here for the AVP Huntington Beach Open and ordered their(in)famous strips, which were cold and gross. Asked them to heat it up, and the kid zapped it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. After that I knew that my business transaction with them was done. High school kids working there — no problem. High school kids working there who don’t understand that hot food should be served hot, if not at the very least warm? Problem.

Came here with my best friend to use the tandem bikes. Scott helped us out and he was super friendly and chill. I would definitely come back and I would highly recommend this establishment.

I called twice on a stormy Saturday to confirm that they were open, once we got down to the beach the weather was really bad. We walked up and the sign said they were closed. I mentioned to the guy that I called twice and he serviced us up some world famous strips and cheese even though they were closed. I love this place!

Not bad for a snack crap on the beach. Wish there were some better options near by but this place is only steps from the sand. Flip flops and bathing suits are welcome. Burgers and fries, nachos, hot dogs soda ice cream.

This place is located right on the beach, with a nice view. They have great comfort food for the beach such as their amazing cheese strips. They are famous because people have had these exact strips since the mid 1930s. People come back to Dwights because it is a place from their childhood, sitting on the beach munching on some delicious cheese strips. There is also a gift shop that has lots of shelIs, souvenirs and beach items. The two ladies that I have seen in the gift shop are very kind and have warm, welcoming smiles. Lastly, there is a rental portion of this concession stand and although I have never actually rented anything from them, it seems as though they have a large variety of bikes and other things to do with friends and family along the boardwalk. It’s no wonder that Dwight’s is in the top ten best places to go in Huntington Beach. I love this place and will always come back for great food and service!

Nothing to complain about here. Super fast service. Just fill out the necessary paperwork and whatever else and they get you set up with a bike and you’re on your merry little way. Pay when you return for the time you’ve used the bike — I like this better cuz at some places they want you to pay up front for the amount of time you think you’re going to use the bike, like one hour or two hours… But how do you REALLYKNOW?! In this case we KNEW we had to be back at 5 cuz that’s when they were closing! So we cruised for one hour, $ 15 on the tandem bike. Huntington has one of the best bike paths along PCH!

Unbelievable chili cheese fries(get the nacho cheese with these though). Burger was quite subpar though. Don’t think I’d order anything else other than the chili cheese fries, but they were worth it.

Wow! I had no idea this place was still there. For nostalgia’s sake I ordered a basket of their cheese strips with that sauce I remember from the early seventies. My kids weren’t impressed. «These are just nachos.» «But these existed before nachos, before taco bell!» Yeah, they may be common as can be today, but back then we didnt even know about tortillas. Three stars for hb staying power.

My first visit to Dwight’s was very pleasant. I rented a beach wheelchair and didn’t discover until that transaction that Dwight’s has some delish strips with cheese and red sauce! Prices are super reasonable, see the pic for pricing on rentals also and there is a gift shop, too! Thank you for making my Saturday at the beach with my kids, kick ass! It’s been a LONG time.

The wait was incredible for only chili cheese fries and a churro. I would guess around 20 minutes. There was a number of people also waiting for their food about as long. It must have been a collapse in the kitchen. The fries were OK. The churro was not.

After a terrible bike rental experience with jack’s rental down the beach, my family and I rented from Dwight’s. Service was great. They had a variety of bikes and other rentals. We even rented a volleyball for playing at the beach. Highly recommend it.

This place will always have the best strips, if only for the fact that it reminds me of summers as a kid. When the tourists are all gone during the winter, we pay it plenty of visits to get our strips-fix. Hits the spot every time.

5 stars for sentimentally awesome! I spent most summers of my youth baking next to Tower 5 and eating cold strips from Dwightsw with my pals. People. There was a time when nachos did not exist — not even at Pup-N-Taco! Cannot believe that this place still stands and serves these. Pacifica HS Class of ’79 «Rules» and«Stay Bitchen» Dwight’s /Lol

Decent beach food. My son and I got a cheeseburger. The meat was alright and seasoned well. My husband got the bacon burger and was pleased with it. The French fries were crinkle style and were crunchy on the outside, but not over cooked. Just right!!! Now a word about the world famous cheese strips. They are indeed as the picture shows at the counter; Tortilla cheese covered in unmelted cheddar cheese. My husband was brilliant and ordered the chili cheese variety. A good call, since it was a bit breezy, and had the chili not held the cheese down and melted the cheese a bit, cheese would have been flying everywhere. The sauce that accompanies the strips is pretty tasty.

As the rare person who has lived in OC most of her life but has never tried«cheese strips» and doesn’t think it sounds appealing, my review of Dwight’s will have zero nostalgia factor to take into account. You have to wonder, without the nostalgic 5 star reviews, what would Dwight’s be? Answer: Basic beach food– burgers, fries, etc. Simple nachos with no extras. Not-bad fish’n’chips,(although I don’t think it’s cod); standard soft-serve ice cream; and utterly HORRIBLE smoothies. I advise against ordering their peach smoothies, which taste like they’re made of canned fruit blended with ice and NO diary product whatsoever. The crinkle-cut fries are pretty righteous, however. Definitely try the fries. Dwight’s gift shop is cooler than the one on the pier. I’d rather shop here for my shell junk and postcards than anywhere on Main Street. If you find yourself on the south side of the pier, Dwight’s is as good a place as anywhere else to grab a bite of junk food, rent a bike, and pick up some sunscreen.

An Icon. I grew up in Covina and was eating these strips and cheese at Dwight’s in the 70’s. They were here before nachos and that liquid cheese that became popular in the 80’s. The sauce has not changed. It was exotic then but mild and tasty today. It complements the cheese and freshly cooked chips perfectly. When we moved here it was the first place we went once we unpacked. In the Summer I go there several times a week, get my strips and watch my son at Jr. Guards. He likes it better than Kocomo’s. The service is great; many of the kids working there have been doing it several years. If you can’t wrap your mind around freshly grated cheese then order nachos. Some people will never get it.

Oh, Dwight’s I love you. When we don’t have a bon fire and cook our dogs and s’mores, you are right there to fill our tummies with beach grub. And you have been doing this for beach goers for 80 years!!! I just learned you are the oldest establishment in Huntington Beach. Cool. We live just a bike ride away, and we are here often. It’s so nice to have snacks, burgers, nachos… drinks, and not have to travel far to eat them. On the 4th of July — we are so grateful for you. When the tourists have made the beach crazy busy — we love you being right there. These are times when a bon fire is not very practical. You are consistent and tasty, and kids love you. We love the gift shop, and rentals also. I am not going to be popular in admitting this, but I am not a fan of the cheese strips. I like my cheese melted. I had no idea these came with cheese unmelted sitting on chips… and the sauce was too sweet. But others love it, so who am I to care? Wish there were space for more tables, but it is what it is. I’m a fan. I’m a super fan.

I saw their little sign that said«famous cheese strips» and wondered what the hell cheese strips were. I ordered it just because it sounded good, and the word«famous» implies that its gonna be none other than great right? hell nah… i looked at what i ordered and saw that it was fricken tortilla chips with unmelted shredded cheese on top. wtf? So I try to take a chip without the cheese falling off, and wonder how the hell im supposed to dip the chip with cheese in the sauce. without the cheese falling off? So I dump the sauce all over the chips, eat a few of the chips while skillfully trying to keep the unmelted cheese on top. Shortly after I threw that $hit in the trash. The strawberry banana smoothie I ordered on the other hand was delicious! Finished the entire thing… The smoothie kept this joint from getting 2 measely stars.

My husband told me about this place and their strips and sauce. I really didn’t get it. I said you mean salsa Alas I tried it for myself. Sort of light tortilla strip chips, topped with shredded cheese and served with a side of «sauce». It’s sort of sweet, and awesome! It’s perfect for a warm day at the beach. We usually put the cheese IN the sauce then dip! It’s so great we always get a quart to go for home!
