I took in my old McLane mower to get an overhaul. It was in need of a lot of work, especially on the carburetor. The workmanship was excellent. The mower runs and cuts like a new machine. The original quoted price was what I paid, even though the amount of work needed was more than for most mowers the shop receives for an overhaul. I have referred a neighbor to the shop, and he has also received excellent service. I would not doubt that that A1 has received positive reviews, however, Unilocal does not post many positive reviews if the reviewer is not a Unilocaler.

I just want to say how awesome this place is. Recommended by a buddy of mine and let me say one thing he usually does not ever recommend anything good. Like ever. This one time we drove thirty miles for this taco joint and let me just say… The tacos were terrible. Goddamn terrible. But this place is not thirty miles away and their tacos are not terrible. Actually don’t think they serve tacos. I don’t think. But one thing done well is keeping my motor running the best it can. Keeping our lawn looking good so we can plant more veggies and fruits and beans… For tacos.

Really poor business model, guy on the phone is pretty rude. Dropped off my Craftsman trimmer last Wednesday to have the clutch replaced. Was told that it would be finished either later that day or the following day in the afternoon: Thursday. I was quoted for a used part for $ 15 and half an hour of labor bringing my total to $ 30. This guy’s name was Emilio; he was a nice guy. Thursday comes, I call them. «Sorry, we have been too busy at the moment to finish it. We will call you this afternoon when it is ready.» Friday comes. Same story: «We’ll call you when it’s ready this afternoon.» Saturday. You guessed it, same story. Monday. We’ll have it done and call you soon. Just got off the phone with them at 1:46 P.M. «We don’t have a used part and none of our local guys have it either. We would have to order a new part, and with shipping and tax that is $ 40. Half hour of labor would bring your total to $ 75. You should probably just buy a new trimmer.» Now, that is perfectly fine with me that it would need a new part since there are no used ones available. The issue I have is that they could not tell me straight up that they didn’t have a used one when they found out. So you might be thinking, «Well, maybe they wanted to really look around to be sure.» I definitely agree, but SIXDAYS(6) to find that out? Please. The biggest gripe is the the way they told me the current situation. Hello, I don’t need your attitude; it’s as if I am bothering him by trying to give them business. All I want to know is the status of my trimmer, and instead I am insulted by this guy. «Well, we needed to find out if we had a used one so that’s why we didn’t get back to you.» It doesn’t take six days to find that out, and they sure as hell could have told me how much the new part would be as a contingency plan. COMMUNICATIONISKEY to any business or relationship of any kind. Period. The most irritating bit about this experience is that the half hour labor went from $ 15 to $ 35. I’m sorry, but used or new should not dictate the price of labor since the time is the same. Real honest business model right here.(Sarcasm) So to break it down. I am without my trimmer for six days thinking they would be fixing it, only to be told that if I want it fixed they’re going to double the labor fee on me. Makes A LOTOFSENSE. I would go elsewhere. Now I have to go back there to pick up my trimmer and decide what to do.
