Dos Gallos

I have been to Dos Gallos three times this week. Yes it’s that good. Tortillas are amazing, everything is fresh, portions are large enough to share. So glad we found this local favorite!

I’m deducting a star because the salsa has too many onions for my taste, but other than that I have ZERO complaints!
Always a place to seat! Clean dining area, parking is crowded, but not bad enough to keep us away!
Great food, great Rita’s, great prices!

I’ve been going to this restaurant for more than half of my life, and even though I live out of state now, I come back at LEAST once every time I’m in town. The salsa is incredible, the margaritas are strong, the food is wonderful, and the employees are so sweet. My recommendations are beef and spinach quesadillas (mixed), or their barbacoa, potato, egg, and white cheese breakfast tacos (you can get them all day). If you have more than a couple margaritas, you’ll be on your ass, so make sure you have a ride home!

Best hole in the wall tacos and amazing salsas! $ 1.80 fajita tacos are amazing. Meanwhile, next door the washeteria is folding 25lbs of laundry for ten bucks. See ya next week lis gallos!!!

I’ve been here twice for lunch and everything was delicious. The service was great and food was reasonable priced.

Went tonight was great. Had the chicken torta it was on point son. My Gf had enchiladas and boy were they amazing. Great friendly service

I eat at Dos Gallos at least 5 times a week for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Love the food! Tortillas are excellent and the chicken soup is some of the best you’ll ever eat! Everyone is friendly and the service is awesome! Enjoy!

My second time here had the chips they great you with which i think it’s very nice from any business specially local business because every penny counts for local business and they don’t have to do that .last time I got just an app the fajita chips which were pretty good it had good flavor also the dipping sauce for the nachos is pretty good too am not Spanish so I don’t have the lingo down but soon I will this is now my local place

Service was great, food was amazing, horchata and homemade tortillas are to die for. The fajitas had great seasoning, and the charro beans had a great flavor to them. Overall I loved it.

Great example of not to judge a book by its cover. From the outside, this place doesn’t look like much. The salsa and chips here are amazing! The margaritas were tasty and very strong, just 1 and I had a good buzz. Ordered the fajita nachos, they were average nothing special but not bad. Will be back again to try something else on the menu.

To start this review I must let everyone know I do not eat meat, with that being said I really like dos gallos spinach enchilada. The rest of the people in my party (meat eaters) as well seem to enjoy their meals. The check is always pretty cheap. It is most def a little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant, but I enjoy that vibe. I would recommend that you give it a try at least.

The food quality, price and service is great at Dos Gallos. I have had many items on the menu and have asked for an add-​on and they gladly made it. You will now find Spinach Enchiladas on the new menus.
The breakfast tacos are incredible and the homemade flour Tortillas in addition to the red & green salsa top off the delicious flavor. Try the Soft Pork Tacos — wow!
Specials include Menudo, Chicken Soup, Caldo De Res and more. Check out the Codornices (Quail). They have a large menu which can be viewed online. I would highly recommend for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Another «Best Kept Secret» in Humble, Texas. Give it a try.

Awesome ritas!

Wanted to go to Titas up the street but it was closed. Stopped here looking for a decent replacement. It was anything but. Oily eggs, slow service and really no redeeming qualities. And when I say oily eggs, I don’t mean just greasy. It tasted like they made eggs and then dunked them in olive oil before serving. I’ve never seen such a thing on a plate. The staff is nice but nothing comes out quickly as a result. They need to hire a new cook and get more organized. A restaurant this size with 3 servers shouldn’t have any problem serving breakfast on a Sunday.

I wanted this to be really good, but it is not. I wanted it to be awesome taqueria goodness, but it’s not. It’s more like tired 1970s yellow American cheese TexMex. The food I have had is rather bland, uninspiring, and tired looking. The service was meh as well. The place was so uninspiring, I am completely uninspired to write more of a review. I will not warn you away, but I will tell you there are much, much better options in town.

Stopped in here for breakfast on New Years… our favorite place was closed.
I ordered the egg, chorizo & queso blanco tacos but was told they were out of chorizo. So I went with bacon instead.
It was, VERY average.

When I go visit my elderly Aunt in Humble, TX. We have the same conversation.
She asks if I can bring her some tacos? Uh huh… and I ask from where? She says, «Taco Bell or Taco Cabana.» I am thinking…“oh hell no!” I tell her I am just pulling into Dos Gallos. She loves tacos from there but we always go through the same conversation. This little Mexican restaurant is like stepping back in time. Yes people do smoke. The waitresses are always pleasant and the food is good in particular Tacos al Carbon and easy on the wallet.

As my roommates and I awoke Sunday afternoon we looked around our living room in a daze, and with a almost singular voice we said lets get food. We decided up Dos Gallos, it was a easy choice seeing that it is right outside my neighborhood.
This was our first time here, being I’m an old hat at Mexican food I was prepared for anything, as I waited for my interracial (beef and chicken) chalupa, I noticed for a small neighborhood eatery it was bustling. So out comes the food in all it’s glory and splendor. The chalupa was toasty and golden, but the best feature on this treat was the amount of meat in it, and absurd amount of protein! Great prices on the lunch specials, food was cooked well, place was clean, staff was hospitable, everything one would want in a restaurant! Except we sat in the smoking section, but that was my fault so no one can be blamed and the refries beans were sucky but that’s how refries beans taste. Try it there are absolutely worse places in town to eat.

Okay. we picked up dinner here late one night about half hour before they closed.
I have to say that the service was really good and we even were offered a margarita while we waited. I personally didn’t like the marg and dont think there was much alcohol in it anyways.
They were relatively quick on getting our to-​go order out to us. I thought the price was average, they have awesome lunch specials though!
I had to give it 3 stars because I think our tummies may not have liked something… so I’m not writing it off completely. because my taco al carbon was really good and I want to give them another try. My bf’s nacho’s weren’t really all that good though. so we think maybe the guacamole may have been the culprit!
