Been coming here since middle school. They have great prices and awesome French bread. I suggest you get the junior. The regular Is huge. The chicken salad is what they are known for. It has grapes and nuts so be aware.

Well pretty nice local deli, mom & pop shop with good sandwiches and salads. Decent prices, not fast food. Great bread, made to order. Awesome croissants if you like those, but usually sold out by lunch. Great French bread for sandwiches. Only slightly over a dozen tables, so can get busy during lunch on weekdays. Sometimes for dinner they are out of certain breads, keep that in mind. I recommend this, just keep in mind to make sure you order it the way you like. Been here quite a few times, only messed up 1 order so far(added tomatoes when asked to not have them).

Best Chicken Salad in Houston. Small space but adequate. Great little local deli with good service.

This is one of those places that I always want to visit when I’m in town. It’s a nostalgia trip for me. I went here regularly back in my high school days, and I make it on the rare occasion that I’m back in Kingwood. It’s a small place in the middle of a rather nondescript strip mall on Kingwood Dr. The businesses around Chelsea have changed numerous times over the years, but Chelsea keeps on going. There’s nothing special inside this place. I think the decorations have been the exact same ever since I started coming to Chelsea, but I’m there for the food, not the furniture. As far as the food goes, every sandwich I’ve had here is solid. They’re decent-sized, and the ingredients are all fresh. My mainstay is the turkey sandwich on wheat. The regular-sized sandwich is a double-decker, and it hits the spot. And if you’re hungry for a size while you’re there, go for the carrot and raisin salad. I’m not sure what they put into that salad, but it’s darn good. I could eat a bucket of that stuff. I’ll be back to Chelsea as long as it’s around. Keep on going strong, old friend.

Always great! I’ve been a big fan of Chelsea’s since I was in 1st grade — 25+ years ago! The sandwiches are always fresh(I recommend the Club Baguette and Chicken Salad on a croissant), the atmosphere is friendly, and the kids who work there are always helpful! It’s a definite must in Kingwood!

Best chicken salad, hands down! My favorite is on a croissant, but I don’t think I could ever eat it there. They place is VERY outdated. I don’t think a think has been done to the place since it opened 30+ years ago.

Awesome food! Best chicken salad I’ve ever had! HOWEVER~ They really need to update the place, it always looks dirty, old chairs, old tables, old dusty décor! I know that they have to have enough money to clean up and redecorate the place! It has been 30 years, TIMEFORANUPDATE! It is hard to eat inside the restaurant because it looks so dirty!

Always came here on my lunch breaks. The food is great and the people working there are really sweet. The bread is so delicious you have to buy a whole roll to take home

Chelsea’s is by far the best sandwich shop in the area! They are always packed at lunch which shows how much people love them! My favorite is the chicken salad on croissant. It would be nice if the restaurant were a little more open because they’re extremely crowded so going in and out is difficult. Overall a great place for lunch!

OMG! if you have not had a chicken salad sandwich from Chelsea’s Deli you are missing your LIFE! Its amazing ten out of ten. The building is old school and the seating area is small, but they get the orders out in a timely fashion, the staff is usually pleasant and the food is made fresh, I love the Waldorf salad and the redskin potatoes and a little pricey but its worth it to me. Just be careful you will put on some happy pounds lol thats the only thing, Otherwise great sandwiches.

Yikes… I’ve had this place bookmarked for the longest time, hoping it would live up to its great Unilocal reviews. 1985 called… they want 30 years worth of filth back. Actually, my sandwich tasted very good(egg salad). But I almost couldn’t eat it due to the overall lack of cleanliness I noticed. Ick. Dirty, moist cleaning rags were sitting by the silverware. OMG yuck. Bathroom was disgusting. Tables were all sticky. So close together I literally couldn’t move. Cleaning supplies were left out by the silverware, and large deliveries were being made while I sat there, through the front door to the back of the restaurant(don’t they have a back door)? So I kept having to duck to avoid being hit in the head with a box by the sweaty delivery guy who took at least 3 trips back & forth, right through the cramped tables. I can’t believe that’s ok. From the lack of cleanliness in the seating area, I can only imagine what goes on behind the scenes. Don’t want to find out. Won’t be back. And I LOVE supporting local businesses… shame.

Chelsea has dependably delicious food. It’s so nice to be able to get a fresh sandwich rather than fast food burgers, etc. I only wish Chelsea would expand it’s space so one doesn’t feel like they are in the middle of a catering business. With all of the boxes piled up the walls, it feels crowded and unsanitary. Seriously great food though!

Chelsea’s Deli is a small family deli that has always been one of the local’s favorite restaurants. A breakfast sandwich on a croissant is 100% my favorite item on the menu. It’s always been a treat during a day off to come grab breakfast here. Beware of it being crazy busy during weekday lunch hours!

I love Chelsea’s deli for a quick lunch. I usually get the salami sandwich on croissant with mayo and lettuce. It’s so simple but so good. And they don’t skimp out on the meat! So that’s a plus. The chicken salad sandwich is good as well! Service is quick and easy. Go in, go out if you’re in a hurry.

I love Chelsea Deli and have been coming here for decades. I wish they would add this to the menu though: a scoop of chicken salad on top of a green salad. I can order a side green salad and a half pint of chicken salad, but at most other delis you can add a scoop of chicken salad easily to side and entrée salads. Just a suggestion, but no matter what I’ll return.

If the chicken salad was just«okay» or «bad» I don’t think they would be selling 20GALLONS of it a day– just saying! Plus their soups are amazing, they are all home cooked and soo yummy, I would recommend this place to anyone.

Chelsea’s Deli is that place that you go for a quick sammich but don’t want to deal with the bloated prices of Jason’s Deli. In the strip center where Red Curry, Fouetté’s, and for those who are seasoned Kingwoodites, where The Mason Jar used to be. Parking is ample but this area can get very busy around lunch time. There is a wide variety of build your own sandwiches with options like roast beef, tuna salad and pastrami on your choice of french bread, croissant or plain jane white bread. They also have a case of pasta/potato salads that I would highly recommend you peruse. I am partial to the spirelli because I love the crisp strips of bell pepper and bits of black olives. The interior is run down but it gives off that hole in the wall charm that is lacking in Kingwood. There are pictures of customers/family members on the wall with flyers with local biz flyers taped throughout. Why a 5 star for a deli? Recently I had to call in an emergency catering order(they usually require a 24 hour notice) and the manager was very sweet and had the staff whip us up something. I couldn’t have been more grateful and the spread they gave us was massive compared to the price. Don’t forget to allot yourself some time if you go during lunch, this isn’t the best kept secret.
