Chris at AutoTek computers in Hudson saved my hide. My husband is a 3D modeler, animator, and game developer who works on a contract basis from his home machine. It is our main source of income. He has a very big, custom built, computer to do his work, and while it is a powerful machine, it also comes with unique problems because it is custom. The simple act of me updating anti-​virus software on his machine caused his computer to get an error message saying «Missing Operating System» and would not let me access his files. I tried everything I could to fix it myself. I even called Chris on a Sunday, and he helped with what he could over the phone, but the problem was worse than expected and it needed to go in.
On monday, I immediately took the computer to Chris (who has fixed my own computer in the past) and gave me updates daily on his progress. After 4 days of working on it, and being very careful with the files, he found the problem and restored the computer, its files, and software licenses as if nothing happened. He knew I was so desperate that I was at a point to pay thousands of dollars to have it sent to a data recovery center. But once he fixed it, my bill was only $ 75. I will send my computers to no one else and if anyone here ends up in a bad computer situation, he is your man.
