employees were nasty and rude. I guess being a supermarket cashier isn’t ideal for a young girl on Saturday night at 9:45pm … not my fault you work here. cheer up, I hate poor customer service.

Great store… Evening and late night crew is fantastic. I only shop at night… Make sure you go to Jillian’s lane or ask for her. She’s the hardest working employee they have and know’s everything. She’s a wonderful worker and a pleasure to talk to when your checking out…

I hate grocery shopping. Therefore, you would think that since this store is close to my home and that they utilize those handheld gizmos that enable you to scan your groceries and bag them as you shop, thereby breezing through the checkout and on to freedom, that this would be my store of choice. No way. Recently renovated to resemble a second-rate Whole Foods by someone who does not understand the defining characteristic OF Whole Foods, and afterwards populated with suburban zombie soccer moms, this store has a very pedestrian variety of items stocked, a miserable fish selection, relatively high prices, and, courtesy of a recent renovation, a completely bewildering layout. Despite all this, I still do visit this store on occasion to pick up digestives and jammy dodgers from the British foodstuffs section and Marley’s mellow mood tea, and to use their handheld gizmos.

I used to shop at the Aldrich Road location. they decided to expand and move to the current location several years ago without polling the local community or their patrons to measure the impact on the community that had been supporting the store for so many years. As a result they lost an excellent fish department and many customers. I started shopping at Pathmark, however, Pathmark is dirty and there have been issues with some of the products not being fresh. Stop & Shop is very large, the food quality is very good, the deli area is excellent, the flower area is excellent and except for the bathrooms which are filthy the store is generally very clean. They are more expensive than Pathmark but the shopping experience is more enjoyable. Overall — while I would have rated the old Howell Stop & Shop a 5 star — I can barely muster three for this one due to the high prices, the overly large store, the inadequate fresh fish area and the lack of concern for the community it serves when it decided to move and expand. Getting community buy in should be a priority. As a result I shop more often in Pathmark because of its convenient location and cheaper prices.
