New Times Barber Shop

Decided to give this place a chance as my regular barber (who I’ll remain going to) had a family emergency. I sat in one of the barbers chairs immediately as it was slow and they were able to accommodate as soon as I walked in. I remember the Barbers name but won’t disclose here. The cut I received was mediocre at best as this barber seemed to have jello hands as he was operating his sheers and clippers. Granted, maybe he’s new to this barber life ok. Then came the beard shape up! After going over my preference with how I like it shaped he did the total opposite and didn’t even leave it razor sharp. Some areas didn’t even get the blade at all. Ok maybe with time it could’ve gotten better. BUT Then the nerve of these a-​holes charging me 16 for my cut then an additional 10 for my beard; totaling 26 dollars for a cut, that was at best supercuts quality let alone nyc barber shop! that’s where I felt «the buck stops here enough is enough!» I understand why they’ve changed their shops name twice in the past. I lived all over nyc and the average median price for a barbershop cut is between 15 – 20 dollars without tip. These amateurs have absolutely no idea how to leave their client feeling then having the audacity to charge Manhattan salon prices for a cut with the quality of a barber SCHOOL. How dare they!!! This teaches me never to trust another barber and to just wait it out if I can’t see my regular. If you’re looking for a great barber shop please go to «The HUSTLE» on hillside avenue in Queens and sit in my man Angels chair. All the barbers there have the razor sharp skills and cutting techniques down to a science and they charge between 15 to 20 beard included!!! leave new times alone.

My son and I go there wall the time for haircuts. The guys are very good with my son. They have a drawer filled with candy for the kids getting hair cuts. The hair cuts are very consistent. Which is what I look for in a good barber. I would recommend this place to anyone they are awesome.
The only thing I could say negative about them is that they charge me full price for a haircut for my son who is only 2 ½ …
All and all very clean and great place.

They do not listen to the way you want your hair cut. Guy seems to catch an attitude problem right after he asks you how to cut your hair.
I was stuck going hear because my regular place was closed. Should of been a hint when the first two guys got up with the same cut. That is all he knows how to do.
Stay away unless you are just looking for an uneven head shaving.

The owner (Eddie) seems to be on top of his game. It’s good karma when the boss is trying to please and keep his customers. Even if he himself is not cutting your hair he watches over the other barbers.
Parking is menza-​menza.

Solid barbershop in Howard beach. Definitely the best barbershop in Howard beach.. Good guys in there. Ask for Oleg. He’ll take care of you. Not a long wait usually.

If you are looking for Russian Military Style haircut then this is a great place for you. Choose any of the Russian outacasts turned «barbers» to have your most crocket haircut ever. Don’t bother with instructions; they «know what they’re doing» and will do it their way anyway, you just sit and enjoy the street techniques they use. Outcome will be bad, also customer service, well… they are Russian…

The best place to get a haircut in Howard Beach .Mike was amazing and attentive, best haircut I’ve gotten in years! And prices are excellent don’t hesitate and stop looking elsewhere stop by and tell them You found them on Unilocal!Awesome Barber Shop!

This barbershop is something else. I have traveled to this area for a year, due to work. I came here more then a dozen times this passed year. The owner cut my hair everytime. We held conversations multiple times during cuts but never remembered me. Not customer friendly. I feel they lac the skill of knowing how to do tapes and fades. If you have a beard it’s even worse. Bad experience.

Had to stop here on way home from Staten Island with my bf because he has drill in the morning and needed a quick hair cut, it was around 7pm, saturday night and they took him right away and he was in and out fairly quickly and got his military buzz cut and looked great,
