YMCA of the Greater Houston Area

This place is beyond phenomenal! Outside track inside track outside pool inside pool women locker room has its own whirlpool and sauna! Whatever wherever you might be in your workout routine this place has got you covered! The staff is extremely friendly and positive which is a plus! They have a ton of activities for the children. My son loves coming here and I do too exclamation point

Made an appointment 3 days in advance for a tour, showed up on time and 30 minutes later we were still waiting on somebody to show us around. Kind of showed us how much they care about their clients. Shame on you YMCA! We have obligations just like everyone else. We did not feel like they wanted us there.. almost like we were a burden for showing up. But they wouldn’t give us a price without the tour. We still don’t know how much it is!

I’ve been working out here for almost 3 years here and I love it! We left 24 because in order to add my third child to daycare we would have to pay an additional $ 27 a month AND wait a full 6 months postpartum for me to return to the gym and I know that 6 months out of the gym is a no-​go for me. The day care workers are so nice to my children. For daycare the Y takes babies at 4 or 6 weeks old so so moms who are serious about working out have great options.
I do miss 24 because all of my group X teachers and classmates knew me by name, I miss having a pro-​shop, and I also miss that I could do cardio in the middle of the night but the perfect gym simply does not exist.
I can also bring my young kids onto the cardio equipment, into the pool, and into the few family classes that they offer. The other reason we joined was to get the discount on sports. The Y has much support for homeschool families which is important for us. Overall the Y also has a lot more classes and activities for our entire family than any other club offers, including holiday community festivals and ongoing health and sports injury screenings via partnership with the Methodist hospital system.
They also run specials on personal training too and it’s a lot less pushy than other clubs I hear.

best gym ever. staff very helpful in helping you reach your goals. Kid center fabulous. one stop shop. My kids do ballet, gymnastics and MDO. I workout there while they stay in childwatch. Love the ladies who care for my youngest.
