We were there today with our family of 5. Let me start of to say the service was terrible. Since we were a party of 5(two small kids under 12) they added 15% gratuity automatically. The bill came to $ 109 with tip which is kinda steep. Like one other reviewer, I agree having to pay for bottled water when we live in the US and not some 3rd world country when the water from the tap can’t be drunk. The food is OK. We ordered 4 orders of Kibbeh, Labneh, falafel the beef kebab and the lamb kebabs, tabouleh and bab ganouj. I used to be a middle eastern chef. The hummus that comes with the main dishes has a lot of tahini, so you can’t really flavor the chick peas. The lamb kebabs wero so, so, just plain bland and ditto the beef kebabs with tahini; which just had too much tahini. We liked the tabouleh, kibbeh and falafel. The bread we were served was cold and dry. I asked for a replacement bread which was quickly brought. This was the only time the service was good.

The design and atmosphere is great. However there good was mediocre. I ordered the beef tips & they were extremely over cooked. The humus okay okay as well. I enjoyed the refreshing mint lemonade slush! The slush tasted just a lime a mojito without the alcohol.

Horrible service. Below average food. They take ages to acknowledge you. I was the only one there for an hour and had I not been waiting for a friend who recommended the place, I’d have left… Five servers walked by me more than once and none of them even looked my way despite me saying, «excuse me,» and raising my hand numerous times. Finally a young man came out and took my order which initially consisted of a sheesh and an iced tea. This tool an additional 35 minutes to bring out… In an empty place… Finally, after what seemed like a year, my friends made it profusely apologising. As soon as they came in, it’s like a world of kings had arrived. The staff was fluffing about asking every two seconds if we needed anything and explaining the plain as day menus to us. Then it dawned on me… They’re Middle easterners. They look the part as well. I looking nothing like anything even resembling an M. E or even Indian(which is what I am) woman. I took a look around and people had started coming in, all of which looked/appeared to be of traditional M. E descents … I hate the race card, I feel it’s a BS call… But in this case I really do feel I was overlooked due to not being a «typical middle easterner» at this place. It’s a shame because the Sheesha was actually really good and I’d have gone back for that alone. The food was bland, we ordered a mixed platter consisted of chicken, beef, kabobs, rice, and fries… I asked for seasoning in the form of a hot sauce or garlic sauce … It never came out… I asked for a refill on my iced tea, that to never made it… The lebneh was decent. But that’s about it.

This place is constantly changing managers so I think it’s time I give an update review to reflect the new management. Everything is just a-ok, the shisha is outstanding and probably the best in town and service is just fine. I would eat before coming as I am not too impressed with the offerings and quality and plus – prices are little on the higher side. The hostess has a bit of an attitude but regardless, it’s one of the better shisha places in Houston

The hookah was on point but the food and service is horrible. Go to Café Mawal across the street instead

Best hookah! Best service! Love it! You have to try mix grill! Meat is tender and juicy!. Mix grill is delicious. Best in town !! Services is fast. especially each flavor has its hookah so you won’t taste a previous flavor in your hookah. Interior design is so Mediterranean it’s a must visit place!

Worst service I have ever had. Waited for 40 minutes just to see how long it would take for a waiter to show up to my table and then I finally walked up to the hostess to tell them. Food is average. Save your money. Don’t come here

Me, my friend and my boss decided to come for a gathering sit down the server who served our table is the most hard working guy among them … when we had a situation with one of the servers he stepped up and took full responsibility for it and made sure that we had a great time and enjoy the rest of the evening.. I understand how hard it is to keep up with every table and to serve and provide great customer service cuz I went through it one day but long story short my boss was satisfied with his great service and complements on how hard he works to give tht first class service.. …oh. fyi the name of the server was Shahir…

I was meeting a friend that I haven’t talked to in a while and he recommended Wasfi’s. I usually go down the street to Maryz but it never hurts to try a new place! First off, it’s «complementary» valet parking(but they will ask you for a tip if you don’t automatically give it to them) — with limited parking there’s really not much of an option. My friend ordered a hookah for me — first thing I want to say is that their prices are really good. Compared to other hookah lounges it is relatively cheap(and by no means I want Wasfi’s to up their prices). I think it’s actually fair they are charging $ 15 for a fruit bowl versus $ 30(rip off). Their hookah taste great, smokes great, and lasts quite a while. The coal attendant was also very good as he checks out ours regularly so we wont be out of smoke. I was hungry so I tried the chicken barg w/rice and roasted veggies. It was very tasty and I also liked the way the chicken is sorta char-grilled. I’ve been there twice now and one was on a monday night and one on a friday night. I recommend you go monday-thursday possibly because on friday it was quite busy and our waitress was barely attending to us. Also i feel ilke she didn’t understand half of what we wanted. The waiter on monday was perfect. I don’t know if she’s new or what but hopefully she improves or I get a better waitress next time lol.

This guys started good and now after months we been going in a regular basis the service time becomes too long and looks like they are under stuff for amount of customers only 4 waiters serving. Hookah not good as before. I would say good bye wasfi and good luck.

Customer service was really poor. Waiters are rude while ordering. They even charge for water, who does that? Drinks and juices are expensive. Food was OK, definitely had better Mediterranean food elsewhere. Save time and money by going to Layal or any other place.

Remarkable change in the past few months after undergoing a management change. Wasfi’s was our go-to: the shisha was(and, to its credit, remains) comparable to the best in Houston; the food is fresh fresh and filling, and the staff was attentive/cheerful. Ever since the departure of the old manager George(and several staff), however, the prices have skyrocketed($ 10 hamburger, no fries, anyone?), the service has become rather lackluster, at best. At worst, we are overcharged($ 2 tacked on the end for a disposable hose that was not requested, for example) and flat-out ignored by servers and shisha attendants. To their credit, however, the staff have indicated a general willingness to help get another water or take our order, but explain they are under strict directives not to «take over» another server’s table. Wasfi’s had amazing potential to serve a booming market of shisha and Arab food lovers. Unfortunately its only claim to fame now is its air conditioning– but I’ll brave the heat of competitors Mawal, Ranosh, and Dandanah for superior service and transparency.

My friend and I always go here to smoke Hookah. We have tried double apple, and you can never go wrong with this flavor. We asked our waiter what they recommended this time, and they said to go with orange mint. I am not a big fan of this flavor because it reminds me of the taste of chewable Vitamin C. I think we will give watermelon a try next time. We also ordered Mint Tea which always goes well with Hookah. We went on Sunday evening, and they did not have that many customers. Our waiter was not very attentive this time, and they took a while to bring the new hot coals for our Hookah, They never brought us another pot of tea either. My friend constantly had to raise his hand to try and get the attention of our waiter. We also asked for ice in the Hookah, and they said it would be an additional $ 2 for it. We were ok with this, and they brought it back with ice. The only problem was we had to wait an additional 5 – 8 minutes for hot coals so we could smoke the Hookah. By this time the ice had already melted. They have decent food here and tea but I think the level of customer service needs to improve drastically. Thanks!

Worked there before, did not have good experience. But I went back yesterday, everything seems changed, in positive. The server my table was very nice, the food is pretty good, the hookah was good also, the Lady manager was very nice to us, she is Turkish but she speaks some Arabic also.

Honestly, it sucks to write a review this negative about this place — the food is pretty above average(the bread is amazing, when warm and fresh — it’s almost pillowy), and the hookah is pretty solid, too(at least on par with other places I go to frequently). My major problem with this place is the service. My friends and I used to go here multiple times per week, but slowly tapered off our visitations as the service got worse and worse. Was in here earlier this week and, after ordering hookah and indicating we needed time to decide on food, went nearly and hour and a half without being spoken to or being able to flag down staff to help us out. We joked about walking out without paying because we weren’t sure we could get someone to give us the check. It was exceptionally disappointing — we went there specifically to eat and ended up not getting food because we were too upset about the way we were treated to stay. I had a really tough time forcing myself to pay for what we *did* end up getting while we were there because the service was *that* bad — I’ve NEVER walked out on a check before, and was sorely tempted to here. To elaborate a bit — servers would make eye contact with us then walk straight past to other tables despite the fact that we were trying to flag them down. Other tables got *plenty* of service while we got literally nothing. In fact, while we were waiting to get the check, we noticed a server making small talk with another patron for nearly 5 – 10 minutes. Even when we tried to lodge a complaint with the manager, we had to interrupt her after being ignored for nearly 5 minutes while she chatted with another employee. It was, frankly, quite embarrassing. Won’t ever be going back again. My understanding is that they experienced a management change since we were regulars. If that’s to blame for the remarkable drop off in service, I think they’d be wise to revert to old habits before their business dies off through alienating what would have otherwise been happy and frequent regulars…

This is going to be a shorter review. I did not try the hooka, so skip to the next review if that is what you are looking for. My main issue, and the reason I will not be going back is that they only serve bottled water. Many of my friends would call me silly, as I am sure many of you will as well. But I will be forced to pay for water for no reason. I only tried the Humus and the falafel. The Humus was good but was coated in way too much olive oil which give the dish a more bitter flavor than i would have liked. The Falafel was ok. I have had much better. The Naan, or whatever that bread is called was great.
