They do a good job! In addition to going there myself, I have taken my son there too. Good job all around.

I just want to start and say I am very picky on where I get my haircut. Only being in town for business I had no clue where to get one I could trust. I was told about v’s and very happy that I was. The cut was a very good cut and the staff was extremely friendly. I will definitely be back!

First time at V’s. Chuck did a great job cutting my hair and we had great conversation. He gave me the cut I was looking even though I gave him a poor description. The gentleman who shined my shoes did a great job. Will return again!

Moises did a great job. Always nervous getting a haircut when traveling, but I’ll make it a point to come back here whenever I’m in Houston. Old school and classy. Best part was there’s no need to make a reservation, just walk in.

Great men’s barber shop, reminds me of NYC. Solid haircuts with a choice of beverage to accompany. Decent pricing for a good quality cut.

I followed Barber Igor from his previous location to V’s. I have been getting cuts with Igor since 2010. Prior to 2014 I had never been to V’s and it is much farther from my place of work, but Igor is worth the drive for consistently good cuts. I like the location. Parking in the front is usually full but the garage is close and always has parking. A previous review mentioned it being filthy but I have never noticed this problem. Always clean to me. I highly recommend the establishment.

I give them 1 star just because they are a V’s and I was excited that a V’s was in Houston as I am temporarily living in Houston on business. I have been to this V’s twice and had miserable experiences both times. When I told my local V’s in Arizona that I was temporarily moving to Houston they told me that there was a V’s there and asked me to go check it out for myself and let them know. I can tell you this… I now travel back to Arizona to get my haircut from my V’s and it is worth the $ 600 airfare! Both times I have been to V’s in Houston it was a PITA to park and found it easier to valet at the Resturant(inconvenience #1), there was no one to greet at the door and assist with how long the wait is or put a system in place to know who is next(inconvenience #2), the place was dirty. And I mean filthy dirty. Almost called the board if health waiting there. The mirrors were dirty and spotty, there was hair and product caked everywhere. Yes I know that there should be hair as it is a barber but not like this. The wash sink was dirty, full of hair, very unsanitary. The cords to razors and dryer were white with dirty and hair. Totally gross! If I owned this place I would be embarrassed! I don’t know how V’s corporate puts up with this. I would suggest a surprise visit so you can see how it really looks. It is a shame as this V’s is within blocks of my condo. But I will never return to this V’s again. Can’t wait to go see my V’s in Arizona and report back.

Worst hair cut I’ve ever had. Everyone there was getting their heads shaved and maybe they know how to do that. I had a hair cut with Coty. He didn’t listen to me and did not cut my hair properly. Simple things like cleaning up around the neck were so badly done that I had to go to second hair cut the next day. Stay away!

I have been here 3 times and will not be going back. The first two trips were average haircuts and I gave it a third try. This was one if the worst haircuts I have ever had and I should have raised a concern while in there. I asked for a low fade and have a mid fade that us choppy and not blended correctly. I also got home to numerous cuts and terrible irritation on the back of my neck. Every time I look at my hair I find random pieces of hair that were not cut. It was a very poor job and unfortunately not worth anywhere near 25 dollars or the wait.

One of the best places in the area! Usually the service is very quick and they’ve always done a great job. You can usually call for a weekday appointment, but weekends in walk-in only. Very clean too, parking can sometimes be a bit tricky but don’t forget the parking garage in the back.

STRIKEONE: Made appointment; on arrival was told barber was on vacation so had to reschedule. Don’t waste money on shoe shine; was obvious they just slapped on polish & brush buffed; actually less shiny than before. This service might fly in a suburban shopping mall but not River Oaks where people happily pay for better service. STRIKETWO: I am a regular customer, yesterday had some extra time; called at 11:45 a.m. to see if my barber had opening. Was told she could see me at 12:30. Walked in at 12:30. Was then told«sorry, you’ll have to wait 20 minutes because no one told me you were coming.» Wasn’t first time appointment was botched.

Arrived Sunday, long line, they do not make appointments on WEEKENDS. Nice ambiance. Haircut is $ 25.00. My biggest complaint is no waiting list. So you have no clear idea of who is next. Very frustrating«system» with a simple fix.

Even though I showed up around closing time, none of the people who worked there seemed exasperated by this or were rushing my cut just to get me out of there. Dre cut my hair and he seemed genuinely friendly and did a damn good job. Minus a star for leaving out shampoo when I ended up paying for it but a good haircut is hard to come by. I would recommend this place to any dudes who just want a cozy throwback over some other trendy places.

If you are(i) a guy(ii) with hair and(iii) not a professional wrestler or in a rock band, you eventually need to cut your hair. Go to V’s Barbershop. I have been going to the West Gray location since it opened. The barbers know their stuff, and the service is always fantastic. Ms. Pam normally cuts my hair, but I have had others fill in without problem or a significant drop off in the quality of the haircut. I have not had a straight edge shave yet. The owner is also very friendly and accomodating. I don’t want to pay $ 50 or $ 60.00 for a haircut at a «salon.» I want a barbershop that has sports on flatscreen TV’s, good service, and a good price. V’s has all of that. The only thing they don’t have to make it more manly is rare steaks while you wait.

Had a great experience with my barber, I think her name was Neira. Very satisfied, would go again. Disagree with the comment about the owner, he was nice.

The place is nicely decorated and the general demeanor is positive, prices are high, but it’s an indulgence. Had a great experience there a couple of months, and just had a REALLY bad customer experience today. Today, I drove over there, asked for a shave and haircut, was told the lady who does barber work is busy and they MADEANAPPOINTMENT for later in the day for me. I show up for the appointment and they then inform me that she is leaving and can’t do it. Losers. They have my number and could have called me and saved me a second trip to nowhere. No apology, no offer to help. With that kind of customer service, they are going nowhere fast. UPDATE: I went back and they made up for their errors. I appreciate their effort. Everybody has a bad day. 4 stars because the sting is still there(a little).

My first visit was on Saturday, July 24th. The barbershop is very nice and all the people cutting hair seemed very nice. They have all the old-time services like straight razors shaves, shoe shines and neck massages. It was half off for opening weekend so my bill was only $ 12.50. I will definitely go back since the atmosphere is superior to SuperCuts or SportClips. At some point I am sure the haircut can run over $ 30.00 if you get all the services, but they have positioned themselves well in the W. Gray area so don’t expect a $ 10.00 haircut. I was at a party on Saturday night and several people gave me some very nice compliments on my haircut. I think most guys would like to keep the price at about $ 25.00 for the most they are willing to pay so I think this place will be around for quite some time.
