I find it very hard to believe that anyone would give this place a good review. So I picked a turkey bacon sandwich from the window. the bacon on the turkey looked staleeee. In fact, everything looked like it had been sitting out for days. Now why I purchased you may ask. well I assumed those were food samples I was completely shocked when she plucked that stale sandwich from the window and proceeded to warm it up! Upon eating it even the tomato juice had made the bread soggy gross. Thinking back I wish I had gone back to complain about the food they felt comfortable selling me. But being that I was running short on time and the idea that I would prob. never be back ever again as this was a connection flight I didn’t. Also, don’t even get me started on customer service. There were 4 ladies in a group chatting all hurdled behind the counter and the person at the register was talking with her friend passing by for a few minutes while I just stood there. Really felt like they were doing me a service. Not sure who runs this place but they need to stop-by.put out fresh sandwiches and maybe consider that it doesn’t take those 5 people to run below-average deli.

Got the roast beef and cheddar sandwich. Was decent for airport food. Would have been 3 stars if it had not been in an airport. The bread was pretty good after being toasted, but the filling got boring.

I bought a banana and a blueberry muffin for my morning flight to New York City. I was expecting a stale, old, dry muffin, but it was quite moist and not overly sweet — perfect for breakfast en route.

Pretty good sandwiches… but jeez they are just sandwiches. The baguettes are pretty good… although a Frenchmen would throw up if he saw it(that’s his problem). Pasta salad was pretty good to. If you are in a hurry this place will do you fine.

Decent airport food. The sandwiches are huge; I figure a full foot long. The baguette bread is truly excellent and the very best part of the sandwich. I chose the roast beef and cheddar. They do offer to heat the sandwiches for you and I did take them up on the offer. The sandwich was presented nice and toasty warm. It was the filling for me that caused the loss of stars. Certainly not the best quality roast beef or cheddar. Both were kind of bland. All of the sandwich choices are fairly unimaginative. The roast beef and cheddar was very simple just roast beef and cheddar. All in all though it was a fine choice for an airport lunch.

Based on all of these positive reviews I’m gonna have to conclude that people have dramatically low standards when eating at the airport. I should’ve listened to my gut and ran when I saw these cold sad sandwiches in the display. I rationalized that maybe these weren’t the actual sandwiches, just model sandwiches. I also should have paid closer attention to the price tag. With such positive reviews I decided to go ahead and get one. When I heard $ 10, I couldn’t believe it. I know baguettes are French so is that why they’re charging European prices? I’m willing to pay $ 10 for a delicious fresh baguette, but then I saw the cashier take one of the aforementioned sad sandwiches from the display and pop it into the microwave. What in the entire hell? I know airports are known for being ripoffs but this is ridiculous. The sandwich didn’t taste bad exactly but I’ve had better tasting hot pockets. I was left with so many questions. Why oh why didn’t I just go to Subway or Wendy’s? Who are these Unilocalers that gave such positive reviews? Why should I lower my standards just cause it’s the airport? Lesson learned I guess.

Great breakfast. Croissant with sausage, egg and cheese. Exceeded expectations for airport food. Staff was pleasant. Would take an extra few minutes to seek this place out.

It was probably the quickest food I’ve ever gotten in the airport. I had the ham and cheese sandwich. Hot and fast. Really tasty.

For sure, one of the best airport stops for food. fresh and good quality. Excellent for mobile eating, onboard plane or at a empty gate, as suggested by the«kiosk» café setup. Its located in the edge of terminal C en route to terminal E.

I heard the sandwiches are fresh and delicious and I found that to be true! No proper seating and really a grab and go type place.

If you ever have to stop at IAH airport, make sure you head to Upper Crust and grab yourself a delicious baguette. There are a few options you can choose from but the BBQ chicken really caught my eye. You have the option of getting your baguette toasted, which I highly recommend. The pieces of chicken were juicy and tender, with the sweet BBQ sauce so powerful it felt like I was sitting in a BBQ restaurant. They toast the baguette to perfection. It had a light crunch but still soft to the bite. The meat to baguette proportion was perfect, with just a little more meat than the baguette could handle. Yeah, it got a bit messy but I can’t complain! Most definitely one of the best«airport food» I’ve had in the US. This place will appease your appetite if you’re in a hurry or not.

Tastes realer than the ‘real food’ company place around the corner. If you want facts, look at Mark D’s review. I recommend the roast beef and cheddar, but I’m sure they’re all good. Love the slightly sour-sweet tang of fresh baguette. Probably the best thing to eat in this airport. Tiny little stand across from a shoe shine and by a bar. Way worth it!

It can’t be. It couldn’t possibly be. Is it the same chain of great baguette sandwiches that I became addicted to when I spent two years in the UK? YESITIS! In all of the better UK rail stations, Upper Crust stands our as a beacon of yumminess. Breakfast type foods, lunch type sandwiches, evening type sandwiches. All available for a reasonable cost. They simply can’t be beat! All of them are fresh and sometimes they’re even fresher than fresh. When I was connecting here in Houston, the girl behind the counter was just putting some new sandwiches into the counter. Oh, I’ll have one of those please. Yes, toasted. And a muffin. And a coffee. A serious case of «eyes bigger than belly» had developed. But it’s worth it — this is good stuff. And reasonably priced — only $ 10 for a highly portable meal that goes well on any aircraft.

If I have a choice with my connecting hub, it will always be Houston because of this place. Great sandwiches on the go or sit in their cozy eating area while you people watch.

Healthy airport food and reasonable price given the other options. I would eat here again. I had the chicken sandwich on wheat. Bread was great, chicken was okay(kinda dry) and it comes with a side(yogurt, potato salad, or fruit).

I was waiting for my connection with not that much time, I was starving but my stomach was upset and all I wanted was a grilled cheese. Upper Crust to the rescue. Airport food is usually so super disappointing so this was a nice surprise. I just got the ham and cheese baguette toasted and it was DELICIOUS. I guess it’s hard to mess up a baguette toasted with ham and cheese but that’s all right.

This is definitely a great place to buy a sandwich when connecting at IAH. I have been here a few times already and always ordered the grilled chicken heated. It seems to be one of the favorites since a couple times, they were out of it. Pretty good, next time maybe I’ll try something different.

When I travel, I rely on the Gate Guru app for Android to find decent places to eat at airports. You simply enter your gate letter and you can look at ratings for the various food joints in the airport near where you are currently located. Upper Crust had good ratings and I have found that Gate Guru’s recommendations never fail me. Gate Guru also offers 10% off of your entire bill at Upper Crust. I tried the mediterranean baguette with lettuce, tomato, carrots, cucumber, tasty purple olives and italian/greek dressing. The baguette was really fresh. According to Mark D’s review, they put tags on them to determine their freshness and adhere to strict policies of freshness. The sandwich was great for airport food. I carried it around for hours before I ate it, and it was still fresh. They had a bunch of options — pizza baguette, BLT, ham and cheddar etc. Some get heated in a toaster and some are eaten cold. This is a good bet if you are looking for a fresh and somewhat healthy snack on the go. You can also read Mark D’s review. He seems to be an expert on this place!
