This place is now called Tortas de la Villa. Food was delicious and would of given it a 5 star except that their fajita meat is a bit on the fatty side for my liking. So besides that, this place is as awesome and authentic as they come. I ordered a beef fajita sopa and it actually was one of the best I’ve ever had. I came in on Tuesday and so they had a «5 tacos for $ 5.99» special, you can mix all the meats you want and so I had fajita and al pastor mix– yum! Oh and I also ordered a «lemonada» as my drink and all fruit drinks are blended and made fresh! Woohoo! So in final, this place is definitely worth a 5 star rating, they just have to cut their fat off the fajita a little better, I would DEFINITELY come here again.

Summary: Variety of tasty tortas(Mexican sandwich) for a $ 5.95 lunch special, which includes drink & chips. If you are a big carnivore, one of these tortas will not satisfy you, because the amount of ingredients is on the sparse side(i.e. for you lawyers, that means it needs«torta reform»). Dear Mr. Owner: If the ingredients must be small to keep the price low, then I would rather have a smaller-size bread with more ingredients per bite. This one of 7 in the chain is located in the middle of a strip mall(surprised?), and has been in business for about one year. The décor is the typical plain inexpensive stuff; with about 8 tables total. Service is at the counter, with sandwich making in sight behind it. I suspect most of their business is take-out. Menu is in Spanish & English, offering about 30 varieties of tortas with different mixtures of meats & cheeses(with small slices of tomato, avacado), and some with eggs. Note that some meats are offered breaded. I ordered the La Chancha(minus the mayo), which includes one thin slice of lunchmeat ham, chopped smoked pork leg, chopped sausage and melted cheese(altogether about«think of ingredients). The torta is fairly large(about 10» long and 5″ wide; i.e. wider than a po-boy) and is served hot in a foil wrapper. It comes with small containers of sliced jalapenos and chipotle sauce(note: this is the stuff that makes the sandwich different and really hum). The bread is great and the overall taste was very good, but see my «Dear Mr. Owner» comment above.(time-out for a Lauren Bacall/Bogoart moment: «You DO know how to scroll up, don’t you? You just hold the mouse down, and slide.») Bonus treat: They serve Mexican Coca-Cola in the bottle(how do I know? It’s Spanish wording and volume is in milliliters). It has the better taste of sugar cane for sweetener rather than corn syrup. I will be back someday to try a different flavor. I like the price & flavor, and I am not looking for huge portion of belly-building material.(Somehow, I still find it, though).
