Best Thai food in the city! Best pad Thai you can get! Also, the fish cake appetizer is out of bounds!

Hand-down my favorite Thai’s restaurant in Houston! Everything is flavorful and authentic. You get the best for your bucks in this restaurant. I love the Pak See Eew and their Seafood Soup(seafood in a Tom Yum broth) is out of this world. Huge portion for the price.

Cheap, decently authentic, & cute! Tony Thai has amazing lunch specials w great proportions for less than $ 10! Love the pad thai, garlic pork, & garlic chicken. The lunch special comes w an entrée, rice, a small side dish, tempura sweet potatoes & a salad all in a bento box. Also, they start you off with a soup. I love the interior too, so spacious & welcoming! I have also come here several times with my family and we have never left unsatisfied.

This is my place for Thai food that are cheap. The pat Thai for me was a little too sweet, but still delicious. The chicken wings are to die for! Soup are a plus too. Service could have been better but it’s usually pack every lunch and dinner time. Always come here for the lunch special, it’s cheap and filling. Been here four times and never was disappointed.

This place has great lunch options, but the food does tend to come on the sweet side. I had the curry chicken and fried shrimp, which came with a sesame black ball, small salad, dipping sauce, and a cupful of rice. The portions are great! But the sweetness kind of breaks the dish for me. So if you’re looking for a cheap place for lunch(M-F), I would recommend it.

Picked up green curry/chicken and tom kha soup for lunch yesterday. Haven’t tried the soup yet — the portions for both the entrée and soup were ginormous so barely able to eat a portion of the entrée with the immense portions of rice that came with it. Got enough to last me through the weekend. I don’t get to that part of Houston much, so it was a nice change of pace. Décor in the restaurant was tasteful and restaurant has a peaceful feeling. Hostess and guy at the To Go counter very helpful. I also noticed they have a lunch special for less than $ 7, and the menu spans several Asian cuisines. I’ll definitely be back!

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Houston. I’ve been here several times with friends. Food here is always great and very authentic. My fav dishes are the beef boat noodle soup, dry seafood Suki(I think this is off the menu but I always ask for this style rather than the wet version. It’s vermicelli with Vegs & mixed seafood). They have added more dishes to their menu and we tried the fried fish topped with mango salad. It was delicious but the fish could have more flavor(add a pinch of salt on it before frying). Waiters & waitress are pretty good especially Pam, she is great always attentive to our needs & goes above & beyond our expectations.

Ordered 10+ dishes for a party of 13. We told them that one of the dishes was incorrect, bc one of our party members is allergic to seafood and wanted pork. Instead of acknowledging that they messed up, we waitress argues with us. OK I would have gone off on her, but I was hanging out with my family from out of town. Definitely do not go here if you want professional service. Try the Thai Spice restaurant on Bellaire Blvd. Aside from the service, the food was… — Fish cake was disgusting. — Papaya Salad was not shredded completely and not crunchy. — Clams were on point. The sauce on the side was very, very spicy. — Pad si ew, pad ki mao and fried rice were average. Not bad but not great either. — Chicken wings were pleasantly crunchy and had a lot of sauce on them. However, there was a very weird taste to them.

Ordered the beef tiger cry and the pad see eww, the beef tiger cry was very delicious. The marinade it in was not too over whelming like Vietnamese bbq and the meat was very moist and lightly charred. I would definitely order the tiger beef cry again. The pad see eww was also delicious not too greasy like most restaurant. The bill was also very modestly priced and service was very fast.

I’ve visited Thailand, and tried dozens of Thai restaurant in Houston. This place is a huge disappointment to me and I highly recommend you avoid this place if it is possible. First of all, their food is nasty. We ordered Pad See Ew, Green Curry, Red Curry, Pineapple rice and Tofu Peanut Sauce. It is impressive that their food quality is so consistent that all these dishes tasted same terrible. I doubt if they only dropped two teaspoon of coconut milk into the curry paste. Both curry dishes were watery, lack of spice, kicks and creamy texture a good curry should have. Pineapple rice was chunks of rice wrapped with oil and sauce but still managed to taste bland. However, neither of them can compete with the glory Tofu Peanut Sauce — the green beans came with the dish were still raw! I asked my waitress to send the Tofu dish back to the kitchen and re-cook it. She acknowledged my request. After five minutes, they send back the Tofu peanut sauce. Wow, the green beans were still just as raw as before. The dish was heated and added extinguished microwaved taste. I truly appreciated Tony Thai’s kitchen trying to put me on the raw diet, and also trying to remind me how I should just buy a box of frozen Thai TV dinner and microwave myself instead of coming into this restaurant. We had table of six. After we paid our bills, they manually signed the 18% tips on our bill. They never told us anything about their gratuity policy. I felt being judged. They must assume my hand writing is so bad that they have to wrote the numbers on the receipt for me. But I thanked them still give the receipt for me to sign. They could just sign my names on the receipt as well but they didn’t. Cheers for their good business ethics! I am sure this pre-signed tips for customers is legal.(FYI, it is only legal when the policy disclosed in advance to customers.) Overall, I liked their interior design. It was screaming:“Hey it’s Chinatown area, we are pretty and clean already, don’t you dare to ask for quality on food and service!”

Located in a big plaza on the older side of Chinatown. Pretty easy to locate. There is plenty of parking all around it. The interior is decorated really well. I’d say the themes really match the Thai restaurant feel of it. The restaurant felt pretty spacious and open. Plenty of windows around. They had tables that could fit 2 people to those that could fit ten. A good range. The food was pretty awesome. Everything on the menu(except for the appetizers) were generally from the 8 – 10 range. There are some specialty items that were pricier. I had the green curry and the chicken with peanut sauce. Both were good dishes. Bonus: They do split credit cards. If you order beef with the curry, they charge more for that versus just chicken or pork. All in all, a pretty good place.

My wife and I met two other couples out at Tony Thai’s for a Sunday dinner. We’ve been eating our way through the area lately and looked forward to a new Thai food experience. On many levels, Tony Thai did not disappoint my expectations. Service was very good, for the neighborhood, where sometimes you get less than friendly or prompt as a norm. They took our orders quickly and were fluid in bringing food out as it became ready. There was the necessary flagging down for refills and other needs but nothing that ruined our day. We ordered a large array of dishes, as we were all excited for the meal and ready to share plates. Chicken wings were an excellent starter with great breading and spice. If you’re ever craving good chicken wings, don’t go to Buffalo Wild Wings or the like, go to a Thai place. Also a great notable starter were the dumplings, which were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Memorable entrees were the Panang Curry which had a wonderful coconut base and just the right amount of heat, BBQ chicken was a really well done pile of savory meat and of course their pad Thai was very good. Some other dishes didn’t really do it for me such as the frog legs, which usually don’t gross me out, but these were too lightly breaded and had a heavy river bottom flavor to them. Also, one that kicked me in the taste buds was the papaya salad, only because by name alone I was expecting some sweet fruit salad and got a mouthful of fish sauce… not my favorite. Overall, Tony Thai is a great option if you’re looking for well executed and authentic Thai food. I’m sure we’ll be back and have plenty more to explore when it comes to Tony’s menu.

I came here with a group of co-workers. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. The shrimp rolls were pretty good. The chicken in the Pad Thai had cartilage on it. When I hit the second piece of cartilage, I completely lost my desire to eat and passed the plate on to a friend. I will not be returning. I loved those little fried sweet potatoes and tried to steal them from everybody’s bento box. Nobody loved their food, but nobody disliked it as much as I did.

Flavorful. Spicy. Exotic in taste. This is my second visit here. And, it’s been a great experience. On my first visit here I came on a Sunday evening with a large group of friends to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant was lit with great mood lighting and the air was full of a festive mood. Tables were pushed together, with many lovely Chinese families of all ages gathered ’round. We waited only a short time for our own pushed together table. And in that space saw and greeted customers from a Chinese church we love. Our ordering was done by my amazing amazing foodie friend for the whole table, so I can’t even tell you the proper names of all that was ordered. We shared in the delight, knowing with anticipation the combinations she ordered, would be a delight. Our food came out promptly of: squid, fish, chicken, pork, beef, vegetables and rice dishes. And the table groaned under the weight of this flavorful feast. Also what came out was a ridiculous felt stove top birthday hat. And I wore it w pride. We all sang Happy Birthday first in English, them in Philippine Tagala, then again in Kazakstan Russian and then in another Philoppean dialect. My dear friends brought a cake and the staff was gracious to supply little plates. Sitting near to all of this, was a large recently sat Vietnamese family of twenty or so people. They clapped along with us during our several international renditions of Happy Birthday, but as we were to find out later, they spoke very little English. We offered them cake, which at first they declined. They mentioned a relative present, had just arrived from Vietnam; and today was her birthday. Well that bit of news was a delight and a warm obligation from our hearts; and we quickly re-lit our birthday cake and presented it to the celebrants table. Now as the cake was given to her… she stared at it and the lit candles. And softly we planted the felt stovetop hat on the newly arrived birthday celebrant’s head. Signal the cameras. We say down and sang to the neighboring table. At first this party next to us was reluctant, to start singing, and were having a hard time understanding these weird yet sincere Americans, Fillipinos and Kazak that sat next to them. An awkward gap. Silence. Them out of the blue the celebrants table began singing Happy Birthday. And then their table sang happy birthday, in Vietnamese. I think we freaked out the birthday celebrant a little, but delighted her relatives as they took tons of photos at the same time. And soon as the photo taking was done, they all asked for a slice of cake. So that was dinner. Lunchtime: it’s a cross section of Houston business first world office lunchers from, I’m guessing from near by corporate offices of Halibuton. I came for lunch today with a Cambodian friend with excellent taste. She enjoyed everything we ordered. So that was a good sign to me the place was great. She and I both liked the intimate tables for talking and the upscale decorations of the place. Meals are tasty. Interior more sophisticated but not inclusive of the«jet set» instead, just right. Exotic, fun, yet understated. Not hipster, but continental enough I felt comfortable bringing and recommending in future other friends here as a lunch place. Ample parking and GREAT lunch prices! IMHO1) This is a third date kind of place. 2) This is a good business lunch place. 3) This is a great evening birthday dinner place for the older crowd. Park to the right of the restaurant. Plenty of parking there!!! Other side, not so much. Will be returning for all venues of lunch and a special dinner place! Do, give this place your business! It’s worth the Chinatown traffic to come. :) See you there Unilocalers!

Let’s just say that I used to be a VERYBIG fan of Thai Spice express just down Bellaire, but Thai Spice express has since gone downhill in pricing and in terms of food quality so I had to find another go to place for Thai food. Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to have to say Tony Thai is not a bad place to go to if you’re craving some Thai food. I’m going to say that the food quality is pretty much on par with other Thai restaurants that I’d gone to such as Thai Cottage, Nidda, and yes, Thai Spice. Service wise, expect what you can expect in Chinatown. A waitstaff who doesn’t come check on you until it’s time for the actual check. Service is actually pretty fast though. I’ve come here a couple of times when it was a full house and still received my meals pretty timely. As for food, the pad thai, pad see ew, chicken satay, chicken with peanut sauce are all highly recommended. I don’t eat fish so I can’t comment on that but my brother in law LOVED it. So if you live in this area and you’re too lazy to take the drive to Thai Gourmet on Richmond, I don’t think Tony Thai will disappoint. Give it a shot!

There used to be a Tony Thai Restaurant near Tomball, but sadly it closed. Luckily there’s still this location here on bellaire! My brother brought me here for lunch and we decided to get one appetizer and one entrée. After chewing and getting our fingers dirty, we were stuffed! We didn’t even finish the entrée. We had Tony wings and Pad Thai with Chicken. Definitely get the wings! They were topped with fish sauce. It may sound spicy, but it wasn’t at all. Get those wings and you’re set for the night. I couldn’t believe what flavor it had. The staff is friendly and attentive. They always refilled my cup of water and came around to make sure we were enjoying our time here.
