The Vietnamese steak here is so delicious. Always order the special. I love the drink too, it called«rau ma dau xanh» and«mon dua»

BECAREFUL when you PAY with CREDITCARD!!! While I loved their bo né the most in Houston, I hate their un-honest customer services. I came to eat here multiple times, every time they see me take out my credit card their attitude changed instantly(pay attention to the cashier’s face expression). They always tried to ask me if I have cash even I handed them the credit card explaining they want to avoid paying credit taxes. However, if you pay with cash, they still charge you taxes(hilarious enough?). Here is the reason why I decided to update my Unilocal review today to warn everyone. I ordered a portion of Bo Né which costed $ 10 last Friday. When I handed the cashier(also waitress) the credit card, she froze for 2 seconds, then told me if she can charge me $ 15 on my credit card then give me back $ 5 in cash. I agreed. Went home and check my credit card account, it turned out that she charged me $ 16.24, not $ 15. So basically, she illegally charged me the taxes of $ 15, even my food order was only $ 10. I think they have made a very greedy and stupid decision for stealing customers’ money(very small amount) but badly ruined their reputation and lost many customers. I will not ever come back to this place anymore, so does all of my family members and friends.

Damn, the Bo Né(Vietnamese steak and eggs) here is delicious! We opted for the cut pieces of steak, medium rare and the dish comes with a fried egg and a Vietnamese meatball on a sizzling hot fajita platter. There’s also accompanying baguette, lettuce, tomato, onions, hot peppers, mayo and Pâté. It’s a deconstructed steak and egg sandwich that you eat by sopping up the juices with the bread. The steak is tender and seasoned with garlic and a little sweetness. There’s not much else on the menu, but who cares? Service was surprisingly friendly and accommodating. Hope to be back soon!

I have seen restaurants come and go at this exact location but i love this one so much i have to give it a review in hope it wont end up the same way. People, this is the BEST Vietnamese Bo Né you can find in all of Houston. My girlfriend and i happened to try this place after having some business at King Solomon and saw that the business had changed again. We are instantly hooked up. the only«unplus» thing is they usually run out of «Xiu Mai»(which is super tasty) near their closing time but they will always make it up with an extra egg. I have been coming back numerous times and everyone i have taken to this place agree this is the best Bo Né.

Decided to give this place another try since the last time I came here the meat was chewy due to marination. This is it was delicious!!! So much better and it was really because of the marination! They use fillet mignon! Will definitely come back! The service was great and the people here are friendly! Always adding new stuff to the menu! I definitely give it props!

Came here with a co-worker to try their infamous steak and egg platter. It turned out to be a great choice. The food came out sizzling and tasted great! The place is further outside of Chinatown in Alief near Hastings and Elsik. This place became popular through word of mouth because otherwise I don’t see how anyone would have discovered this place with their isolated location. The place itself is very small and pretty much a hole in the wall. Most of the customers are Vietnamese and very few workers speak English. Their sandwiches are also delicious due to the fresh bread they use. It’s

Yum, Bo Né was delicious and tasty. Portion was good enough for one person. Compared to the other Bo Né restaurant on Beechnut, this was way better, price and size wise. Owners are friendly and accommodating, gladly exchanged our drinks when we didn’t like it. Hopefully they will do well since I would love to come back!

Under new owner, they now are popular in the Vietnamese community for their sizzling steak aka«bo né» which has beef steak, egg on the sizzling plate and a side of baguette with salad, mayo, and pâté. It was so good and super CHEAP, compared with another restaurant selling the same thing on Beechnut. We came in as a group and had a chance to talk with the owner(s) — it’s like family own, they were so nice and friendly. Definitely recommended!

Omg what happened!!! This was one of my favorite spot for Banh mi, cream puffs, pâté de chaud! It was the one of the worst Banh mi Ive eaten. The bread was so hard, the meat fillings tasted whack. My biggest disappointment was the cream puff. It felt like the cream filling was old. It had an odd taste to it. I stopped after my second one & threw the rest away. I was scared of poisoning. Thankfully the pâté de chaud is still tasteful. Just as I remembered. It’s a little more dry though. Things changed in here. She even changed her ingridients. I’m sad I will not be able to taste the goodies from this place anymore.

After grabbing lunch at Tan Tien next door, I like to walk here to grab some cream puff pastries(banh su, pronounced bahn shoo)) for dessert. I’ve had their banh mi, and it’s decent, but they are definitely more known for their desserts. At 3 for $ 1, the cream puff pastries are a bargain!

My family’s been coming here for Vietnamese egg rolls in the past few years. Basically, whenever we have a large family function that requires some type of filler food, we go with the mass order of Vietnamese egg rolls. They go for 50 cents a pop which isn’t exactly cheap, but for the convenience and the consistently good quality, I guess it’s worth it. I’m giving it 3 stars because (1) I’m pretty sure there are other places out there that provide the same service as this place and will taste as good, (2) you have to speak Vietnamese to order here; I don’t think the people running the place understand much English, and (3) they aren’t exactly friendly people, even if we do speak Vietnamese to them. They didn’t crack a smile once while we were there. If you are looking to place a mass order, I think you need to tell them a day in advance, and then you can go pick up. It looks like they also sell individual Vietnamese meals, but I don’t know how good they are. For the above reasons though, I wouldn’t care to try these meals out. :-)
