I have lived in better apartments and I have lived in worse apartments. I would say these are middle of the road but with a few perks. The management here is awesome! They work with you, they listen and respond to your requests, and they take their jobs seriously. I feel comfortable coming to them for anything involving the apartment and as long as they know about it they seem to take care of it right away. The maintenance guys will come fix your stuff when you put in a request. They always say hello when you see them outside and they have been very friendly. Pest control is contracted and they come once a week as long as you put in a work order. The community is well kept on the outside. The buildings look good and are taken care of. The grass is watered with sprinklers and every Monday they have landscapers who come in to mow the grass or whatever. I just wish the company they contracted used rakes instead of those horribly leaf blowers. Leaf blowers are loud and smell terrible. They cause pollution(air and noise) because they are gas powered. Plus they are a waste of time. They just blow grass off the sidewalk into the street. The dog owners are a problem here. I have dogs and I always bring bags with me to pick up after them. Some people here just let their dogs poop everywhere and don’t pick it up. Part of the problem is that the doggie bag dispensers are almost always empty and the little doggie bag trash cans are always full of people’s fast food waste. Some of the neighbors are too lazy to walk to the dumpster to throw away their trash so they just stick it in the dog poop cans. That would be ok if the dog poop cans were actually picked up when they were full. Unfortunately they will sit overfilled for weeks before they are actually thrown out and replaced. It is really gross. The pools are very nice but a lot of the neighbors don’t follow the rules. The pool says that it is open from 10:00am to 10:00pm but there are constantly really loud tenants in the pool past 10:00. I wrote the management about it so hopefully some solution will arise. There are bike racks on the property but they aren’t anywhere near my apartment. I used to keep my bike under my stairs where it was out of the sun and it was easy for me to ride it at least once a week if not more. Then I got a notice on my door saying they wanted us to use the bike racks and if we didn’t we would be fined $ 25.00 So I moved my bike to a bike rack. Since then the chain has become rusted, the bright pink color is completely faded, and it is so far away that I don’t get over to it to ride it as much as I used to. There is a play ground but I hate kids so I don’t really care. The pet policy is ok. You have to give them $ 350.00 for a fee and then pay them $ 25 a month for a pet. Nothing is refundable. Parking is ok. They have spots that you can pay for that are reserved covered parking otherwise you just need a permit to park anywhere else. They do enforce towing so that is good. Most of the neighbors are really nice and really quiet. The bar across the way is not. The apartments are really small for how expensive they are. This is the smallest apartment I have lived in and the most expensive. The one bedroom is 700 Square Feet. They have carpets and laminate flooring. The hard floors are nice though because they use that fake looking wood so it at least appears nice. The top floors should have vaulted ceilings — it would make them look a lot bigger, unfortunately they do not and it feels really small. The apartments do have fire places which would be nice if I didn’t live in Texas where it is 100 degrees every day. The air conditioning units are really old and so is the thermostat. It does work so that is good. If you live on the first floor the air conditioning unit is above your bathroom and it makes your entire apartment vibrate. It is incredibly loud. It always sounds like a bathroom fan is on. The kitchen is very well laid out for the space that they give you and I really like the living room/dining room area. I also love that it has a washing machine and dryer hook up! The bedroom feels small to me. I am not sure how they want you to set it up because the window is in a really weird place. A queen bed fits in the room nicely. Anything bigger would be a problem. There is room for a dresser as well. The closet is decent size. The light is a pull string light so it is a little old school. There are not enough closets though. The one bedroom closet is nice but there is no linen closet. There is a tiny pantry in the kitchen and a small coat closet next to the kitchen where you could fit a vacuum. I wish these apartments offered storage units or something. You will have to bring your own microwave. I wish they had the kind that goes over the oven — that would free up the kitchen counter space. This is definitely not a bad place to live. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a place to live in Houston.
