After calling and driving almost 45 minutes to get there and having someone actually go to the shelf and confirm that yes indeed they did have a 2 foot long ½ «brushed nickel downrod for a ceiling fan imagine my surprise when it was actually a bronze color. I ask an associate if this was all they had and he said yes. He said«were you the person who called» and I said yes. He said«here it is» and I said this is bronze and showed him on the label. He said nothing as he turned away and walked off. What a !@#$%^&* I said to myself as I left before saying anything to anyone. I guess it shows that there are some businesses that will hire ANYONE !!! Do not believe anything these !@#$%^ people say to you and go to a competent store like Lowes or Home Depot.

This is a good hardware store very conveniently located. The pluses are the ease to get to it in particular, as it is near so many neighborhoods in the Clear Lake area. Other options include a trip to the I-45 corridor, which is much tougher to navigate. It’s not going to have the best prices or selection, it’s just not the large, box hardware store that HD or L is. But that’s okay, I’d rather go here than have to go to the big store if I need a box of nails or small hardware item. Also(and see my tips for more) this is THEMOSTCONVENIENT Post Office in Clear Lake. There’s a small desk to the back left for all your basic PO needs. Stamps, shipping, boxes, etc. As with most people, when I go to the regular PO, always a line and a less than interested staff. Here the people are more helpful. The only drawback is that it is small, if you happen to get behind someone with a complicated order OR a rush, you might wait a few minutes. Probably once out of ten visits did I have to wait more than five minutes, though. Very friendly hardware staff(in general). The minute I walk in, I am greeted. Good local hardware store. And I go for the PO more than for hardware.

Everyone here is always super friendly and helpful! Love it! The post office in Ace is tiny but super useful. Usually no line and Francis who works there is really sweet. The manager Cheri is great as well. Always come here for post office or hardware needs!

Best hardware store in town! Great prices. I like how the store isn’t a giant maze and i’m trapped inside. It’s nice and quite. They have so many odds and ends for many types of projects. I love the fact that they have tons of trays of various nuts and bolts. I like being able to just buy the exact quantity of nuts and bolts that I need for a project as opposed to buying a pack of them at Home Depot for wwwaaayyy too much. The prices are very good here. I’d much rather come here then the larger chains. I feel far more comfortable in there. Perhaps its the fact that its not a huge ugly warehouse full of crap. Rather is a nice little hardware store like the good ol’ days with friendly and helpful people.

This is a friendly Ace hardware with basically anything you could need to be a home warrior. If you are sick of meandering through giant aisles at Home Depot or Lowe’s, this is the place for you. The store is well organized, and you buy specific quantities of a lot of fasteners! this is unheard of at your big-box home improvement places. This Ace offers a myriad of services, including: a paint counter, a key counter(including chip keys), propane refilling, screen making(in-house), and a post office. yes. you heard me right, a full-service U.S. post office(which is open M-F 8am-6:30pm and Sat 8am-3:00pm). They also have a small selection of plants. There are usually some fantastic monthly deals going on, so make sure you get an Ace Rewards card to get in on those. I knocked it down a star because prices are slightly higher here. but in my opinion, it is worth the mark up. There is NEVER a line at checkout, which is one of the most enjoyable parts of this store!
