I wish I read the reviews before walking into this store. The sales staff are indeed stalkers. There were about 10 shoved into the small store. Is it odd that there were more sales people than customers? After feeling pressured to buy 65 bucks worth of tea(yes– 65 bucks!) the other«associates» tried to add on organic sugar and other tea paraphernalia. I wanted to yell out, «I just spent 65 dollars on tea! You should be applauding that you suckered me into paying that much!» It felt like a horror movie with zombies pushing unnecessary tea products. Oh– and when I ran out and got to my car, I read my receipt and they didn’t even throw in the container for free. They charged 7 dollars for the container. I will NEVER go into this store or venture near any TEAVANA ever again. Enjoy my 65, TEAVANA, because I will not be a repeat customer. I will spread the word that this is a bad business. Don’t go here.

The staff is so pushy! It’s not the first time that I’ve walked into a Teavana to check it out and felt uncomfortable that I’ve had to find my way out quickly. I wanted to give it another try. This time, I walked in with the intention to purchase some tea. The lady that helped us was a fast-talking sales pro. Despite the number of times and ways that I told her to give me the smallest portion possible she kept on talking. After pulling canister after canister and doing so much fast talking, she rang up a couple of ounces in a «Teavana canister» totaling«$ 65+ dollars» and still pushing to sell me other items. Feeling the rest of the staff flocking around me like buzzards I paid and walked out feeling very uncomfortable. There are so many other things that I could invest $ 65 on than a couple of ounces of tea. It’s not so much that I couldn’t afford it. I felt that it was more about the lack of information about my purchase that I saw no value in it. Barely a quarter of the canister was filled after she added«a little of this and some of that». I have to admit, I should have stood my ground but I felt pressured after she had mixed and packed and pushed the«Teavana canister» because of a discount on future purchases. Later I understood it’s just 10% and only if you fill up a pound of tea.(By the way, I couldn’t see the amount adding up displayed on the register as they added it to my order.) After doing some thinking and despite feeling embarrassed I returned 20 mins later and returned it. Yes, she was aggressively pushy while processing my return and perhaps I would have kept it and returned for more if she had listened to me in the first place when I told her what I wanted«repeatedly» while she was too busy upselling and packing up add-ons. In the end it’s about feeling happy and informed about my purchase(and every charge totaling my purchase!) to be motivated to return. That’s not going to happen because I’m wondering why a company with good, unique product would have to push so hard if they are confident about the quality and value of what they offer. It’s simple, if it’s delicious and the experience is good, we’ll keep coming back… often times despite the price.

I don’t appreciate being stalked. A sales associate followed me around the tiny Memorial Mall store as if he thought I were a thief. If he wanted to play low wage rent-a-cop, the store is small enough that he could have just eyeballed me from where he was originally standing. I tell you what, if I am going to risk going to jail it d. sure won’t be for an overpriced tea pot or pack of tea. I left without spending a cent, and I won’t be back. I’ll stick to Ranch 99(the Asian grocer). They have a huge selection, reasonable prices, and they don’t stalk their customers.

How can anyone pass up the opportunity to try steaming tea on a cold winter’s day? Certainly not me! We were lured in with a strawberry tea mixed with something else that sounded fancy. $ 32 bucks later we walked out with tea in hand… the sticker price is a bit steep but I love the option of buying tea other than the grocery store. And this isn’t your standard tea in a box. You can smell anything(they have champagne tea!) and you will be given all sorts of flavor and mixing suggestions. Something curious were the little black rocks. These are sugar rocks and I’ll be buying the next time I go. It’s a fun store to indulge in and treat yourself!

Stop pushing the cans. The tea is good, but every time I stop in I have to argue with one of the girls about buying a single cup or purchasing a can to take home. Even after I tell them I order the cans online they persist that I should by more. The store is also small and crowded making the wait times longer as no one can seem to remember who ordered what. Hopefully the acquisition by Starbucks can make this place more fluent for on the go shoppers, because the tea is awesome!

Frightening. Everything I had read about this place was done to us. They kept pushing cast iron pots on us as the best as they supposedly heat up the fastest and most evenly? Well, according to thermodynamics, if it heats easily it probably loses said heat easily as well. So I looked this up and found I was right! Most sites dedicated to brewing loose teas say you should use glass pots to brew in. Now why would they push cast iron as the«best» if no other tea site confirms this? Because cast iron tea pots are VERYEXPENSIVE! My favorite part of the cast iron versus glass discussion with the sales person. I have a science degree so I just looked up the thermodynamic data for said pots on my smart phone! My husband decided to buy some tea though because he likes tea. Just as the article I read said, they push these metal containers on you and make you think you HAVE to buy this to get your tea. YOUDON“T! They won’t offer you a bag for your tea because then they won’t get more money from you, but they are there! Just ask for one! Unfortunately, I didn’t find this out until I went online after we had bought our container! And my last annoyance? There was a tea that interested me and I asked if they would brew a cup for me. Even though they do brew and sale cups of tea there, the sales girl didn’t want to because she said that it would be cheaper for me to buy a large amount and make it myself at home. I told her that no, it would be cheaper for me to buy a brewed cup than having a bunch of tea around that I would never drink! She still wasn’t interested. Once again, I found out why when I did my Teavana research after leaving the store. Quote: «When you sell a cup of tea, you satisfy the need to buy tea. We do not sell cups to go, we sell tea to take home. Do not offer if, and talk your way out of it whenever possible.» A $ 3 – 5 dollar cup of tea is generally less expensive than the minimum 2 ounces of tea, which is why its looked down on. This place is a major scam!
