One of the first and still one of the best phở places in Houston. Remember eating here when I was still in elementary school.

Having eaten at many phở restaurants in Houston and in a few other cities around the nation, I can say that the best I’ve had is here at Tau Bay. The price is very reasonable, and the flavor and quality is unmatched. I always have to have their cà phê sa đá with my meal too.

Phở Tau Bay may not have the best phở in town. But I can always ALWAYS count on their friendly service. This is a rare thing to find in most Asian restaurants. It’s very mom and pop despite being a large restaurant. They always ask how we are doing when we come in like we are old friends. Tell us you’re welcome when we say thanks. Even tell us goodbye as we are leaving! Seriously. Where else can you find such friendly service from an Asian restaurant??? So far I’ve only had phở and the egg rolls here. The egg rolls aren’t really egg rolls because they’re made out of rice paper and not egg. But that’s what I like anyways! It’s soooo good! You must try! That phở is consistently good. Not the best I’ve ever had. But good! I’ll come back here anyways because they treat me like humans and not like $$ that need to just leave to get more $$. Thanks Phở Tau Bay!

This place is one of my favorite spots that I frequent about once a week. Laid back(seat yourself), and friendly staff. Fast service and cheap dishes. I second the other reviews about the place itself and Club Tequila next door, but would say the area is fine, just has a bad reputation. I always order Phở Tom and Thai Iced Tea. One time they ran out of beef broth for phở so I had Mei Tom(rice noodles and chicken/pork broth). I prefer the Phở. So good I crave the stuff.

Very good food the location is bit sketchy but what a place for good phở! Living in Houston you become a sort of a snob but this place is great. The wait staff is good and we had a good time.

Com bo luc lac tastes great here. Never tried anything else but I recommend this place if you like the com bo luc lac. The garlic is tasty, the rice is tasty.

Sketchy ass plaza but serves good and cheap vietnamese food, this place is massive inside and looks like it is beside a Latino nightclub so hey if ur down for some reggaton and phở then this is the place to be… there is no ac inside but they keep it cool with the fans on the ceiling… waited a bit long for my bun but it was worth it, I caution people to hide their belongings when parking here and park in the lighted area

This is one of those places you would never know is good, unless you were referred there by a friend. Thankfully, one of our friends who is from Vietnam took us there and recommended the bun bo hue and the #22/23(red rice with chicken chunk steak /red rice with beef chunk steak). They said the phở was OK. I ordered the #22(chicken) and the chicken was delicious. The plate was huge. I tried a bite of the steak, and it was tender and seasoned well. If I had not passed my beef«quota» I would have ordered it. The bun bo hue did not disappoint. This is the dish our friend gets every time. They come with special round noodle, which had a very distinct texture. You can use lime to dilute the red soup. Overall, one of their best dishes. I also had the Thai Iced Tea, which was so strong it actually kept me up until 3am that night. Great authentic Vietnamese hangout in an unlikely place. Look for the Club Tequila.

Been going here since I was a kid and it’s glad to see that they are still just as good. The phở isn’t the best, but it is to my mom. To each their own, but I do enjoy their bo loc lac. I think their version is the best and most flavorful. I’ve also tried their spring rolls, egg rolls, hu thieu, bun bo hue, and fried rice. All great.

Probably one of the largest phở restaurants in Houston, with tall ceilings. I only tried their Bun Suong, so I can’t comment on their regular phở but I thought it had pretty good flavor. The service is alright here. The strawberry shakes are pretty decent too. My colleague ordered bun bo hue and pinneaple shake and enjoyed both. During lunch, it seems to be mainly visited by nearby office workers and Asian/Hispanic customers.

I was really excited to come here because of such good reviews… but it was just alright. Nothing bad happened, but something just felt off the whole time I was there. First, the place is way too big. The ceilings are like 50 feet high, and it just has this weird dirty vibe to it. The service was pretty good though because they got me ordered right away(just like pretty much all Viet restaurants). I ordered the spring rolls and the beef vermicelli, and they were just average. Everyone is saying it’s so cheap, but every single Viet restaurant in the area is in the same price range. Add on the fact that they don’t take credit for anything below $ 10, I really don’t understand all the hype to this place.

I order the phở carry-out here all the time. I think their phở broth is flavorful compared to other places. The quality of their phở is consistent, their portions are generous, and their staff is friendly. This place is my Top 5 in Houston for phở. I’ll have to try the clear rice noodle dish sometime that fellow Unilocaler Tammy T. mentioned. I like that this place has vegetarian options such as tofu phở too.

I only ordered spring rolls. Although I was happy that they come in fours, they weren’t all that great. They were good, but not great. The rice paper was actually kind of hard to bite into, and wasn’t put together neatly. If you’re having a hard time finding the place, it’s in a shopping center. Look for«Club Tequila» & you’ll see it! Watch out. It’s kinda sketch.

Just as my food arrived a roach crawled across my table. I immediately got up, went to the front to pay my bill, and two more were crawling on the register. Th lady didn’t even flinch. And she charged me for the food and I didn’t touch it. I kinda want to throw up the spring rolls I just ate there. I have never been so grossed out in my life. I think I should report them to the health dept.

Bun Bo Hue! I love hard working Houston and their many ethnic eateries. This spot is next to a chain wing place and pretty much not much else is in this shopping center. I’m guessing the rent is cheap. Parking — plenty of it Getting there — right off US59 Service — Good Now up until this point, I’d had Bun Bo Hue 4 times. Bun Bo Hue is like Phở’s spicy big brother with the added feature of coagulated pig’s blood. I had always assumed that i’d been served the real deal, until my waiter clarified if I wanted the Pig’s blood. Of course I do. And this was the first time I would actually get to try it out. Like mineral rich jello, I think the idea of it is much better than actual experience. The experience isn’t the great gastronomical revelation that I thought it would be.(Blood Sausage is however Aka Anthony Bourdain is Right) I can’t claim an expert badge in Vietnamese culture, as I haven’t grown up with it, nor made it from scratch. So I can only judge it from a non-Viet p.o.v. I’ve had the phở and bun here many times before. Great food at a great price. In terms of the phở broth, my standard is Phở Binh, and it’s not to that standard, but it is good. The vermicelli dishes are also good. The Café Sue Da comes with the filter, and isn’t the pre-mix that is so popular nowadays. Great lunch time spot

I don’t know too much about Vietnamese food(I’m more a Japanese kinda person) but I like coming here. I used to have an office near here & I’ve been coming here for years. I personally get shrimp fried rice or a #23 lol. I really sky know much about Vietnamese food… But this place is nice. Clean, friendly, sorta too big. I recommend it.
