That have a new chef. It’s not as good as it used to be. I’ll go back and give them another try and update then.

This food truck has a new owner. The food use to be the bomb it was great. The new owners are rude and the taste of the food is bad. They don’t know how to make Indian food. I was a loyal customer for the last 4 years. After giving the new owner three chances I have stopped going there. If you want Indian/Pakistan food don’t go here.

For it being a food truck, it looked very clean. Immaculate! Now, my partner, my warehouse crew and I ordered food here and at another truck down the block as they are a stones throw away from my warehouse. Ordered chicken Boti, naan, fried rice and chicken seekh kabab. Naan and Chicken Boti were flavorful and very good. However, none of us liked the fried rice, it was too spicy for non Pakistani pallete. Also, the chicken seekh Kabab was a little dry for our taste. Overall, its a lot of food for a little bit of money.

New owners as the old owner opened a restaurant in sw Houston. But this place is still great Pakistani food! I love curries so I definitely suggest butter chicken with garlic naan that combo is a beast. I had their BBQ also which is on point.

I have been to this place several times more recently. I believe that on their main course you cannot go wrong with Butter Chicken and Butter Paneer. I also liked the Chicken Charga(Chicken Tandoori). The garlic naan is out of the world. Prefer to get the food for takeout and get in a bit early in the evening to avoid the rush closer to 9PM. The quality of the Chicken Biryani has been quite spotty from very good to not so good.

Here’s a tip: don’t go to this place close to closing time. It’s all very well that they may be one of the very few places close to you open past 11pm, however the food they serve around that time is pretty bad. I ordered the chicken biryani and clearly got what seemed to be the last dregs of the rice– it was all mushed up together and definitely not appetizing. The saving grace was that the chicken seemed to be cooked pretty decently. We also ordered the paneer makhni which turned out to be basically nothing but tomato with a few cubes of paneer thrown in. The naan was perfect though. I don’t really care about service too much unless it’s pathetic(looking at you Himalaya on Hillcroft) so I wasn’t bothered by the lack of it here, it’s a food truck after all. The food may be good during lunch, but I probably won’t visit again given my bad experience.

The host were very friendly and they did not even ask for money! Apart from the warmth(could be because I am Indian), the food was not that great! I have heard of Houston having great places like these. This was certainly not one of those. And the Gas station attendant was very rude! I ordered a Paneer Butter Masala and Naan. Maybe their non veg is better :)

So I started off going to desi bun kabob down the street, and then this place popped up. All I really have to say is wow. These guys truly love to cook, and they always remember what you’ve had and what you haven’t, because if you haven’t had it, they let you try it. Every time I go, the younger chef tends to treat me with a special or a favorite of his for nothing. These people are sweet, the food is fantastic, and the vibes are good there. Home cooked Indian that’s actually cheaper than a buffet. If you haven’t tried it, you should because chances are, you’ll be back. I’ve had Indian from California to Florida and this is my favorite by far. If I could give ten stars, I definitely would.

Finally tried this place for the first time and I was not disappointed! The guy has bee there for 8 years he recently upgraded his trailer. The food is full of flavor the naan is made fresh and they are friendly. Had the paneer butter masala and chicken biryani. The paneer is awesome love that cheese man. The biryani was full of flavor can’t go wrong!

First time I had stopped by this place after hearing about it for a long time. I got lucky and apparently it was their first night open after being closed for a month and a half due to purchasing a new/bigger trailer. The owner was very nice and helped me to order because my experience with Indian food is very limited. I ended up getting and order of chicken masal and chicken curry and four orders of bread. It was plenty to feed four people and still have leftovers. Everything was really good. I liked the chicken curry especially. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

Well, I went there for my first time. The naan was good(liked that). Gave 2 stars because the Chicken Tikka Masala(my favorite dish) tasted more like Campbells Tomato soup with spices in it. There was no rice either(I was told that if rice were included, it would be $ 4.99 extra). The Tikka Masala + Naan was $ 9 on its own. So — the total cost(if rice were included) would have been something like $ 14 — $ 16. They only accept cash. In Austin, they have a fast food restaurant chain called Tarkaj(or something like that). The Chicken Tikka Masal there was much better and at a lower price as well(rice and naan were also included) — which is surprising since Tarka has overhead and Desi Grill does not. The bits of chicken in the meal were good. That much I can say — but — I doubt I will go back(in order to try other places) though.

Picked up food on the way home from work once. I am definitely a fan. Tikka masala, Tandoori Chicken etc. Terrific. Naan was awesome too! Going back there as soon as I can.

Second time we have been here. We think it’s the best Indian food in Houston. We have tried the goat curry, chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, and reshmani? Kabobs, and paneer naan. Everything was excellent quality, very tasty, and plenty for us. People are very friendly. It is located in a Valero parking lot. Plenty of seating.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for months now, ever since pulling over to the Valero next door for some gas, and finally got to this past weekend. First thing’s first: the location does seem really weird at first, and makes this place look really sketchy. But once you walk around to the other side of the bus, you can see that there’s an actual covered seating area with enough room for a few groups. Great for getting to eat the food while it’s fresh and hot without having to worry too much about weather conditions! The menu can be a little confusing if you’re not used to ordering and eating Indian food, especially since a few of the items we were wanting to order weren’t available. My boyfriend is Indian, so I just had him order everything for the both of us(like I always do, lol). We ordered: tandoori charga: good! karahi chicken: good! paneer masala: really liked the paneer they used, but the curry was pretty spicy naan and rice: the naan was pretty standard, I think. and the rice wasn’t just plain basmatti, it had some kind of seasoning/flavoring(tomato, maybe?), but not very much of it — not as flavorful as it looks, but still good. I’d definitely come back here again, because I really want to try that goat curry!

Everyone is right when they say it’s hidden. It’s a small food truck hidden on the side of the gas station. The area doesn’t seem to be that safe either, so don’t bring your kids. Was here a couple of days ago and there were mosquitoes everywhere. My gf and I were bit all over our legs and arms. It can’t be helped I suppose. When you walk up, there looks to be plenty of seating. We ordered our food to-go and my gf couldn’t sit outside for too long so she waited in the car. Like I said about the area, there seems to be a lot of folks looking for money or cigarettes walking by. So we bring our food home and it was delicous. My gf can’t eat too spicy and in the menu it wasn’t noted that the food would be spicy. She still thought it was good, but just too spicy for her. I pretty much ate two meals.(was that good) We paid 8 bucks each; $ 8 for my meal, $ 8 my gf’s meal and $ 2 something for each naan we ordered(we ordered 3). No rice was included with our meals. So it’s kind of pricey.

Fortunately, the only place to eat around here that’s open this late happens to be an(extremely) hidden gem with fresh, fantastic, and authentic Indian food. As others have said, it’s on the north side of the convenience store that’s part of the Valero. You can pull through the pumps to get to it. Don’t let the truck throw you. Some of the best stuff in town is served from a truck — we should all know that by now(Bernie’s? Coreaños? Corkscrew?). They’ve been here for EIGHTYEARS, so they must be doing something right. The gentlemen who cook here are extremely friendly — if you have a question about your meal, they’ll make sure you’re satisfied, even if that means making you something else to try. As to the authenticity of the food, it’s right up there with the best Indian I’ve had in London. If you’re in a rush, call ahead — everything is prepared to order, and you’ll taste the difference. It’s obviously not a buffet, so nothing has been sitting under a heat lamp all afternoon. In fact, they buy their meat fresh each day and they stand by its quality. The curry goat was recommended, so I went for it tonight. I guess you could say that goat is to beef as duck is to chicken. It’s got a deep, rich flavor. Most of the meat is still on the bone, and it’s very, very tender. The curry is obviously very different from West Indian or Thai curry, and it doesn’t smell like the curry powder in your pantry, either. It’s a thick, savory sauce with vegetables and spices, and it’s got the perfect amount of heat. Usually the idea is to eat curry using roti or naan, and so I tried the paneer(cheese) naan. Don’t think quesadilla — there isn’t a ton of cheese in the naan, but it was hot and fresh(frozen? You’re joking, right?). Break off a piece of your naan, then pinch your meat with the bread, making a sort of tiny, bite-sized taco. Your fingers might get some of the sauce on them, but you won’t mind a bit. This is seriously tasty stuff, and I was surprised how *not* heavy it was — no food coma tonight. They sell canned drinks, so with a coke the whole meal came out to $ 13. If that sounds like too much, think of it this way: you’d pay the same price for six-hour-old tikka masala just about anywhere else, so you might as well come support your local Indian food truck. Shukriya!

Still the best grilled Indian food in town. Where else can you see your food cooked and delivered hot off a flaming tandoor grill? Nothing like it. N The novelty of the place is the main draw — a food truck that resembles the«dhabbas»(roadside stands) of India and Pakistan. The best food doesn’t come from fancy restaurants, but freshly grilled on the roadside with a few chairs and tables strewn about. They are places to pass the time and have hot tea and long philosophical conversations. Atmosphere: This place is in the lot of a Valero gas station but is very accommodating. You either buy specialized drinks from them or get sodas from the gas station which is owned by their friends. They have 8 tables under a tent with a classic hammock relic from India as well. Plenty of room and very fun to sit outside in great weather and enjoy fresh food. Sometimes they even play music. Food: The selection is great. The best thing on the menu is the chargha chicken, which is like the red tandoori chicken but much tastier. The dish is exploding with flavor and is absolutely delicious. It will feed three people(8pc), so don’t sweat the $ 13 price tag, it is well worth it. The other dishes are $ 7 – 8. The next best is the chicken boti(boneless chicken breast chunks). Very tender and juicy. Other things to try are the kabob, daal makani, and karahi. Like I said, the food is fresh, generously seasoned and of the highest quality. You can’t go wrong. Their naan is fresh and their garlic naan is mouth watering. It is loaded with garlic chunks and seasoning. Heavenly with the charga. The prices are reasonable. They could be cheaper given the lack of overhead, but once you try it, you will understand why. It is also open until midnight seven days a week, which is also a plus. Great hangout.

You wouldn’t think that the white school bus right beside a Valero gas station could pack a punch full of Indian flavor, but Desi Grill and More does! I think its one of the best Chicken Tikka Masalas I’ve had. Seriously. They make it fresh when you order so it takes around 15 minutes for your dish to come out. The curry dishes are roughly around $ 8 – 10. The naan is $ 1 and rice is $ 5 per order. The cook was very nice and he looked like he was enjoying himself cooking which showed through the food. Bonus: Desi Grill is 3 minutes away from my boyfriend’s neighborhood. So if you’re ever up north looking to feed your craving for Indian food. Stop by Desi Grill. Hopefully, you’ll get the same experience I did.
