Been here many times. Used to be a really good place to eat, expensive tacos but good. Tried it today and it has changed a lot. Flour Tortillas are no longer home made. Place is now dead half the time, I guess people know. Got my order really wrong but was home before I found out, called and lady said she couldn’t do anything and that I was wrong. Don’t order flour tortillas, they are the worst now.

A real, classic food truck. Don’t get me wrong, the whole food truck trend is cool and all, but sometimes, they can get a little ridiculous, probably because the more popular, newer food trucks post up in midtown/downtown/heights/village neighborhoods. Not El Regio. This is straight in the barrio and has never moved. Probably never will. It isn’t overpriced whatsoever. $ 7 for an order of 5 tacos al pastor. Kick ass sauces. AND, you can even call ahead. They do accept credit cards, thankfully. Just be warned, being on the eastside, this is pretty much El Barrio. Hipsters wouldn’t feel too comfortable here since this part of town won’t ever be gentrified. They can stick to their $ 5 tacos at other places.

Had Pork tacos on Corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. Very good! I’ll probably eat here again tomorrow night and try the carne asada.

Come sometime other than right after work or after the bars close or it’s gonna take a while. But honestly, it is worth it. I prefer the barbacoa, but everything is excellent and dirt cheap.

This is the taco truck on the corner of Market Street and Federal road, in the check cashing center parking lot with tons of cars in the parking lot. Why? These are some of the best tacos in Texas. Period. I have been eating here since they opened across the street in the tire repair parking lot in 1992. You will now notice that on Friday and Saturday nights there can be up to 100 cars in the parking lot and it can take up to an hour and a half to get your food. However, you can call your order in in advance via phone. Yet it can still take over an hour easily. Why so crazy? I know since I have eaten here about 1000 times(no joke!). They are grill searing the meats AND the tortillas with a lard /butter mixture that makes the most wickedly and sinfully delicious taco that it’s probably physically addicting. Note the new yellow paint job and the fact that the current truck has been totally restored. The original trucks were plain white. I on occasion will drive over an hour and a half just to visit here. The same people have worked here since they opened in 1992. It’s family owned and operated.
