Great food and friendly service. Only thing is the wait can be very long sometimes especially for lunch hrs

I decided to try some local flavor while I was here on business. Read the previous good to great teviews, and stopped in for a breakfast taco. Their sign says«now serving breakfast tacos», so I am assuming this is a new thing. I had the chorizo and egg tacos, and they were delicious. Add the green sauce, and they have just the right kick! This place is clean, the service is friendly, and the food is inexpensive but fantastic. Also, they accept all major credit cards. I will stop by here again the next time I am in town.

Tacos La Bala is our go to taco joint. The only drawback here is the location. It is small and parking is very limited. So when it’s busy, and it often is, you find yourself parking in the street and waiting at the door in a line. That being said there is a reason for the line. Love all of their tacos, and tired the burrito. It’s ok but the tacos are why you’re here. I will say I love the nachos because they are a complete sell out. I mean mission chips and canned cheese. But I also respect the fact that when you come to best taco joint around and order nachos… you get store chips and canned cheese!!! So i always have tacos with mine!

This place is so good and VERY authentic. My husband and I went for breakfast and their huevos con papas y chorizo are delicious… I could eat like 12 of those. The only reason I’m giving it 4 and not 5 stars is because we had to wait 20 minutes for our food and we were two of maybe 10 guess in there. I understand it’s because everything is probably made as it’s ordered… But it was a long time to wait when the place is pretty empty. But definitely the best breakfast tacos on this side of town.

If you come here during lunch time(12:00−1:00 M-F) be prepared to wait a while. It’s okay though, the food is worth the wait! Tacos is what they are known for, but they have a good variety of food to choose from. They serve breakfast plates all day that ranges from potato & egg to Menudo(served daily). For lunch they have Tortas, Burritos, Tostadas, Sopes, Gorditas, Flautas, and Quesadillas. Aguas Frescas & Mexican cokes are available to wash it all down. Back to the tacos, if you came here because they told you the corn tortillas are made fresh, that’s correct, but you HAVE to make sure you ask for«homemade» corn tortillas. They will charge a bit more but you get what you pay for. If you forget to ask for homemade they will give you the regular store bought tortillas but will double it for each taco since they are a bit thinner than the homemade ones. They food here is very fresh, made to order. Lately my favorite tacos have been the pork skin sautéed in red salsa(chicharron) crispy tripe(tripas) and avocado(aguacate) all topped with fresh cilantro and onions. Try the green salsas on the table, they are good! Heads up, the one in the black salsa bowl is spicier.

I had one fajita taco on flour, one barbacoa on flour taco and one chicken on corn taco. All with cilentro and onions. I noticed the bottled in Mexico cokes and grabbed one of those too. Wow, these were good. I took my first bite of the beef fajita and was yummy. Just as I was about to ask about sauces the lady brought over a bottle of green sauce from the frig. This stuff had some heat and took these tacos up another notch! All three tacos were great with the chicken on corn being my favorite. I look forward to eating here again.

We stopped by there due to the reviews on here. There were no other customers there when we arrived so I was a bit concerned, but it was 2pm. I’m glad we tried it. It was fabulous! I had one chicken taco and one beef taco. Hubby had two tacos too, and our total bill was 10 bucks. Very reasonable for what we got and the flavors were really good.

The BOMB!!! I had their fajatia meat tacos and it was super fresh. They had this sour cream /jalepenos sauce that was oh so good! The wife and I both had 2 tacos each and we got out of their for right at 10 bucks! Its in a lil strip complex so its out of the way but well worth the trip.

The last time I had tacos al pastor, I was in veracruz veracruz, and they were darn good over there. Tried this place out based on the reviews and I gotta say, best tacos al pastor ever. Good stuff! Will definitely be coming back again!

I can’t say this place was amazing, but it wasn’t the worst either. I was disappointed because I had seen on their Unilocal page a picture of tortillas made from scratch so I started off with that as an expectation, only to find out they use plain store bought tasting tortillas. Their Cochinita Pivil is nothing like what I’ve had in Monterrey. I was pretty annoyed with their sopes because they weren’t fried. Mine tasted like a over burnt gordita with stuff on top of it. I also wasn’t a fan of their salsas. One thing that kind of grossed us out is that they gave us this medium sized bowl full of a cilantro/onionlike green salsa. But the thought of how many people have dipped into that same bowl was kind of disgusting. I will say that my husband said their Tripa tacos were the best Tripa tacos he’s ever had. Their Horchata was also very delicious.

I have one thing to say about this place and that is Yummy!!! This has to be one of the best taco places, I ever tried. The meat is very moist, tacos are homemade. This place is easy on the Wallet. Overall best taco place, I tried in a while.

They make delicious tacos! Everything is made fresh. The crunchy tripe mixed with beef fajita is delicious. Not a fan of any lingua but it is delicious here. The de trompo will make your taste buds wonder where you have been taking them all this time! They make than just tacos and the large quesadilla will need to be split with your friend. I come here every Tuesday but any day can be a Taco Tuesday if that is what you want. So basically, delicious tacos, friendly staff, and bottled Mexican cokes make this my favorite stop for Taco Tuesday or any day I want the deliciousness served up by Tacos La Bala!

As a native Mexican and only loving in the US for less than a decade, I’m at the point on which i still hate TexMex and really miss some authentic tacos. This were close enough for me to shed some tears of melancholy. I tried 4: Steak(aka Asada in Mexico) good tender meet. Great flavor 5 stars Cochinita: meet tender, flavor good 5 stars Lengua: soft as it should be lacked a bit of flavor though Trompo:(aka pastor in Mexico) adobo only they don’t even come a little close to the real thing. No pineapple. 1 Star Tortillas(corn) are good and fresh, love them! For a good taco, you also need good salsas, they only had two, the avocado which was way to water down and the green, it was good. You need more salsas! Tatemada, with Chile de Arbol, de molcajete! C’mon! Salsas are simple to make and this is still were most fail. For you gringos they have flower tortilla option with lettuce and tomatoes.

After watching CNN’s Parts Unknown featuring Mexico City and the street tacos, my craving for authentic tacos grew enormous. I’ve been to many Tacos La Bala restaurants. There is something in common — flavorful meats and affordable tacos. This restaurant is exceptionally good because of its location — near Carverdale Community Center and Johnson Park(my favorite neighborhood park in Spring Branch). I had a minor hiccup with its closing time on Sundays and few mistakes on my orders. Otherwise, I frequent here as an alternative to burgers.
