My first time here today and wasn’t to satisfied. I came with the intentions to try there sub sandwich with some zesty wedge fries but I guess I should of read some of the other reviews because they don’t serve subs no more. So I ordered a burger and fries and a beef quesadilla. Burger was ok fries were plain and soft not good at all and quesadilla was extremely greasy. The best thing I had was the can orange Fanta. I will Def not be returning.

Good sandwiches at a reasonable price. I couldn’t ask for more. Don’t let the«subs» in the name make you think that they only serve subs, they serve other delicious dishes, such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and a variety of other dishes. With all the delicious meats available, it is difficult to eat here as a vegetarian. It is definitely worth checking out.

Very grateful to have a quick service lunch choice that isn’t a chain. Very fast and friendly service. Food is authentic Mexican, yet cleverly prepared such as the El Gyro or the sautéed onions on the street tacos.

I am forced to downgrade my score here. Looking at my previous review you can tell I really liked this place. It started out as a restaurant to get quality ‘Mexican style’ subs at low prices. The bread they used for the subs was always sooooo fresh. An unique aspect of this place was where they let you put your veggies, condiments, etc. on the sandwich after they put the meat and cheese and toasted it if you wanted. And all of this at a low price. Later they added things like big hamburgers, quesadillas, etc. that were good too. However the ‘Mexican style’ subs they offered is what caused me to eat here often and give a 5 rating. Last night I went by for one and was told that the new owner has decided to delete the subs from the menu and only offer the other items on the menu. I left with out getting anything else. I guess he has his reasons but for me this place now becomes average. I am not saying you shouldn’t come here it’s just the subs were my reason for coming. For that reason I am lowering my score to a 3 which I think is fair. If I come back to eat it will be a rare event. By the way this location has been renovated since my last visit and I like the changes however would much rather have my subs back. FYI: there are 3 other Piquin’s in the greater Houston area under the old ownership and they still serve subs. This one doesn’t anymore.

I come here sometimes for lunch and saw they renovated it. I think they have new owners and they changed it up. There is more seating but no more free refills and no free water. The prices and menu still seems the same. The size of my el Gallo looks the same but now they have regular fries instead of the wedges and way less btw. My side of fries seemed like it was for a kids meal. I would have taken a picture but I was starving. I’ll come back because I love the chicken burger but it seems they are skimping on a lot of things…

The service was great. The cashier really me and she explained every burger to me. The décor of the restaurant was a nice sight to see while you’re waiting for your food. When I opened the box, the burger was HUGE. The meat was a mix of American meat and Mexican meat. It was good. The patty also had a nice seasoning. I also purchased the horchata. That was good as well. I was hesitant about getting fries because I’m very picky when it comes to fries. But after seeing the reviews, I cannot wait to try their fries!

There subs may be good but the tortas have much to be desired. They put very little meat which was cold and bland. They tried making me another with same results.

Awesome place with a fresh do it yourself salad bar. Try the gyro and won’t be disappointed. One of the best things this place has are the fries, be sure to have them.

Looking for a place to eat on Unilocal and this came highly recommended. My coworker and I decided to go as it is really close to my job. Once we went through the doors we noticed that the place was really homie. On the side of the doors was this piano and a lot of pictures. It was the coolest thing we had seen. The lady who helped was really nice and she offered us a great service. I ordered a fajita half combo sub and it was the most delicious thing. My coworker ordered the special burger and it was«so hot but so good» in her words. We can both agree that the fries were really tasty. If you come around this place make sure to stop by.

Excellent burgers. Salsa was to die for – extra picoso! You’ll want everything that comes on the burger(which had awesome buns btw). The fries were super tasty and everything was affordable. An excellent father’s day outing!

Came here with high expectations due to the awesome reviews on Unilocal. We tried their regular patty burger(not the double) and it was HUGE! The bread looked very appetizing. I liked the fact that it had different kinds of cheese, avocado, and ham. I was just disappointed in the taste of the burger patty itself. I just wasn’t a fan of the seasoning they use. Their wedges were delicious. Their drink selection is awesome. We had the Horchata. Not sure if it’s homemade or from powder, but either way it was delicious. This place offers free wifi which is AWESOME! I mainly gave this place a 3⁄5 because although the burger looked amazing, it just didn’t feel like it justified the calorie intake. If I’m going to eat a mega burger like that, I really want it to be awesome and worth eating. This one just didn’t do it for me. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either.

Pretty good hamburgers. Got the Hamburger Real Grande as a combo and was thrilled that I could pick out Mexican soft drinks or Mexican flavored waters. Got myself a mandarin Jarrito and was loving it. The hamburger came with a side of pickled jalapenos and was happy because I love spicy chiles with my food. The hamburger comes with ham and melted chihuahua cheese and that was a nice change. Didn’t care for the jam but it’s a nice change from a regular hamburger. The wedges — for fries — were nice and crispy and also a good change from regular fries. Overall, impressed and the price isn’t bad($ 9) for what I got.

Awesome food at a reasonable price. The burgers almost remind me of a Mexican torta but with a hamburger beef. Interesting décor and the owner is very friendly along with the staff. It is better than subway in the sense you can pile all the toppings you want with their topings bar selection. I even got fresh cut avocado for free! :) Did I mention they also have aguas frescos too with lemonade! Amazing . I enjoyed the kids burger but don’t be fooled that thing was almost as but as a regular burger! All for around 5 bucks with fries and a soda. I definitely will be retuning here for lunch.

I actually checked this place out a couple of months ago. I hate that I’ve taken so long to give my review, but this gave me pause for a realty check. I don’t remember my experience here as neither bad nor extremely wonderful. The sandwich was good and I anticipate myself coming back in the near future, but I didn’t have a WOW factor experience that made me say, «I must come back here!» I do remember that I was not intrigued enough to pay almost $ 10.00 for a burger with no automatic fries. Will I check this place out again? Sure. Is it on my «Must Hit This Place Up Again»? Naw. But I wish the owners well and I truly believe they will succeed in their venture.

Piquin makes me a happy gringa. Where else can you get a chicken fajita sandwich on fresh Italian bread and top it with melted nacho cheese, jalepenos and cilantro and not get judgmental looks from the staff(or your husband)!? The burger was pretty dang good. The sub(ham and bacon) was pretty dang good. The fries(potato wedges) were definitely pre-frozen and not very good. The prices are right. Overall, it’s a Subway with a Mexican twist, which I dig. The BEST part about Piquin is the salad bar of toppings. There is spinach, lettuce, red onion, jalepenos, cilantro, avocado(most of the time), tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, nuts, croutons, plus a wide array of sauces like guacamole, melted nacho cheese, chipotle mayo, Italian dressing, ketchup, mustard and plain mayo. There are also self-serve agua frescas(horchata, Jamaica, lemonade) in addition to the usual fountain drinks. Try mixing the lemonade and Jamaica! The interior was really cute and the phone chargers at each table are a nice touch that will make guests want to stay and hang out. The service was friendly and quick. This is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Clean place, nice owners, cool atmosphere, and great food! Sorry this review is short but it’s simple. The Mexican burger is a masterpiece that I’m glad I have found in this NW strip center. Each table has chargers for your smartphone and there are two nice sized TV’s. To the right as you walk in is a small cool lounge type area with a piano, rustic furniture, and a couple of hats to wear if you’re not a lame stiff daddy. Anyways get your butt over here and try the Mexican burger combo for $ 9 if you like good food otherwise keep trucking to Carl’s Jr. goodnight.

I had the burger which was huge! It was like$ 9 and some change for the burger, fries, and drink combo! They have a topping bar with super fresh veggies(even mushrooms and dried cranberries!) Aguas frescos included: horchata, Jamaica, and lemonade. They also have gold peak tea available along with fountain drinks. The owner was super friendly and made us feel at home. I will definitely be returning! Seriously though, huge portions, cheap prices, friendly atmosphere! Can’t complain! Try it! You won’t regret it!

Some pals and I enjoyed lunch here for the first time this past week and it was good. Those other sandwich places don’t have the freshness of this place and the Mexican twist and nice departure from the norm. We all opted for fajita sandwiches and they came out hot, not microwaved or flash heated like some places. Oh, and they have Jarritos! Dzamn! My pals couldn’t help but be enamored by the nice and attractive lady at the counter(silly guys!). LOL. The seating is rather cramped, seeing as how the booths are definitely not full or even medium sized, so four people struggle for elbow room. Good food, great options, and a nice staff round out the 4 stars for me.

I saw this new store with a catchy name, but couldn’t say it. So, I asked someone to pronounce it for me. It sounds like«p-kin.» I was attracted by its window signs — free wifi, cell phone charging and make your own sandwich. Meanwhile, it’s a Mexican restaurant. My curiosity got stronger when I saw an organ with some old-fashioned chairs circled in a corner of dining room. According the manager Hilda, people loved to sit there and take a picture to share it with their friends on social media, like Facebook. She was so hospitable and gave me a tour of the restaurant. There is a charging cable at each table — 3 connector types. In the back of dining room, she showed me an old portrait of her family and the old country Mexican-style décor. The fajita was phenomenon. One of her brothers cooked the chicken and beef fajita from scratch, not frozen. Although, there is a surcharge for fajita meat. The breads are custom-sized torta bread — bigger than Subway’s foot long and more substance in texture. Here is how you do it: — Order your choice of meat, cheese and bread on a half or full sized bread. — Toasted or not toasted.(I liked it toasted) — Go to the fixing bar and put whatever topping or sauce you want on it. No extra charge for guacamole. — Grab a seat and enjoy! There are plenty of parking. It’s conveniently located next to Larry’s BBQ Buffet on the west end of strip mall. Great stop for people who travel down Highway 290.
