Shisha Darbar

Let me start off this review by saying how happy I am to have a hookah bar on this side of town. This place only opened recently and when it popped up on Unilocal I was super excited.
People give reviews for hookah bars based on different things. Some people really care for the décor or the environment, some people care about the food, but for me at the end of the day if you go to a hookah bar its for the hookah. At Shisha Darbar, the hookah and the service you get here is top-​notch, and it’s why I keep coming back and will continue to come back in the future.
The service here is excellent. Never have to worry about your hookah going unattended for too long. They keep your beer cold for you (did I mention it’s BYOB? Yep.) and will even bring it to you when you ask. The hookah flavors are excellent and Shisha Darbar is the first place I’ve been to in a LONG time that has ICE TIPS. They have a wide variety of hookah flavors that are excellent from my experience and when in doubt of what to try, ask them to hook you up, and they’ll take care of you.
That being said there are a few things that could be improved. The menu isnt that great so far, it doesn’t bother me much because the Pita and Hummus are great, but if your’e looking for a meal, you’re looking in the wrong place. I don’t know if this is something people would want, or they plan on improving here but I do know many other hookah places do serve food as well, so it’s something to consider.
The décor is comfortable but it’s not quite like most places I’ve been. I would like to see them add a little bit more furniture and make the place look a little bit more relaxed and less stiff.
Other than that I have no complaints. Shisha Darbar is a much needed addition to the area and I hope they are here to stay. I wish I could give them 5 stars but I am firmly at 4.5 and maybe as they grow it’ll become a definite 5 star place.

Great environment and décor. Good place to do my college homework and relax. I really enjoyed the music selection and hookah flavors. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If there was a 6 star I’d definitely give one !

Byob, comfortable, simple, with great service. I haven’t seen the ice tip since my trip to Dubai so fantastic impression bringing that to set themselves apart from other lounges further away in downtown or the southwest Houston area. The décor is comfortable and homey. The place is near potatoe patch right by a Barber Shop, 3 leaf smoke shop, and a old pub. Very close to the international airport. The hookah is the proper size with mystique iced tips which is a very popular lounge in Queens, New York. I’m glad to have a proper comfortable lounge with good appetizers, drinks (American, middle eastern, and pakistani in origin). It has a BYOB policy so feel free to bring your drinks in. The area was long overdo for a proper hookah lounge. Great service as soon as you walk in. The staff and owner is very open and friendly to help you find the place or any other general directions. This is not café Layal so don’t expect platters and foodie Ventures for gyros and sharwma. Expect great hookah, drinks, dessert, service and setup for your drinks.
