The Dunkin Donuts of Texas. Get the apple fritter, or try a kolache. Definitely worth a visit!

This location is gone. There is no longer a Shipley’s at IAH airport. Whoever made that decision should be fired.

The most touching experience I’ve ever had! I went at 8:20 this morning in between connecting flights. They had 2 kolaches left. Went and grabbed breakfast with my 2 boys and came back…3 kolaches left. I asked them how long it’d be for a 12 and I let them know I have 3 soldiers waiting for me in Hawaii and threatened that they wouldn’t let us in the car unless we had the goods. Lol They got someone to bring more up. Hurried and hit us our kolaches. All while having computer problems. They made sure to tell me to thank my sister and her husband for defending our country! And when I tried to thank them with a tip, he refused and told me to spend it on a drink for the kids for the trip This gentleman and the other young woman working between 8:30am and 10am are truly amazing people. And I thank you for touching my heart and giving me faith in humanity again!

I decided to stop by here and grab a donut or 2 when I was between flights and wanted something sweet. This location is in the airport next to the food court. There is nothing fancy about the set up, just a glass display of all their donuts and pastries. This isn’t a fancy donut place, but you can definitely tell that it’s homemade. I decided to go for 2 glazed donuts and a cinnamon twist donut. When I took my first bite of the glazed donut, I felt like I was back in my hometown and eating a local donut. It was so fresh, and wonderful. I couldn’t wait to try the cinnamon twist, but was disappointed that it was dry and didn’t have much flavor. I will definitely go back for the donuts, but not the cinnamon twists.

By far the best donuts I have EVER had, and believe me, i’ve had my fair share of donuts. We arrived at Houston Airport early in the morning and needed something to eat before our next flight out to Louisville. I honestly didn’t want anything super heavy, so we passed by this tiny donut shop and decided to stop and try it. I was only thinking i’d want one… until I saw the selection… then I ordered 3!!! Apple fritter, coconut, and chocolate glazed. I don’t know if it was because it was early and it was fresh, but they were absolutely amazing! I could have eaten a dozen. The apple fritter was my favorite. It was in the shape of a ball, which I thought was weird and was concerned the center might be raw, but it was moist and cooked perfectly! I would almost consider seeking out Houston for layovers just for their donuts.

First time I have ever seen this donut shop. Pretty popular place as there was a line forming almost constantly. Only 1 person manning the register so I felt bad for him but he was super efficient and pleasant. The prices are good with a dozen specialty donuts costing $ 7.25. The price was the same for their specialty glazed donuts or filled ones so I asked if I could get 6 of each which was great. The variety was very nice with more than 12 glazed varieties, same for filled ones and then they also have the muffins, crullers, and breakfast combos. Pastries look fresh with plenty of glaze or filling. Haven’t tried them yet as heading off to meet done coworkers in Kentucky and thought I would share when I arrive. Hope they taste as good as they look and as good as the customer service I got. I will let you know!

My favorite Houston Donut Shop and it is awesome that you can grab a glazed right in the airport.
