So we were told to try a kolache which in essence is a hotdog in a thick bun. The bread was good but the hotdog was nothing special. Boiled hotdog. As for their donuts, their display didn’t seem impressive. I got a glazed donut. I like my donuts light and fluffy. I love krispy kreme glazed donuts so I’m using that as reference. The donut was average. If you are from NY then I’m going to quote my husband and say ‘Peter Pan donuts drops kick these donuts in the face.‘the donuts are average but the kolaches are not worth it.

I woke up craving sugar and pastry. So I drove down the street to Shipley’s. They have donuts. And chocolate milk. And donut holes. No beignets. The texture is correct and the amount of icing is proportionate. I personally dig the cake donuts and chocolate glazed donut holes. The staff is nice. My hangry reign of terror ended after a few donuts holes in the car and sips of chocolate moo. About an hour alter, the realization that my body needed real food hit. I really wish they served beignets. That’s what I really wanted, but the sugar/fried pastry combo of a donut kept me from losing my mind. Credit card purchases only have to be over $ 2.

Had donuts at a couple area places and like this Shipleys the best. People are friendly and donuts are good. I wish they had later hours on the weekends in case I sleep in. Haven’t found anywhere that I like the kolaches though… way to much dough. Coffee is ok, I often get it elsewhere. But donuts are great! Get in early for best selection.

Kolaches are almost all bread and hardly any meat. I guess everyone loves there donuts though but their kolaches suck

Literally the best doughnut I have ever had in my life. Perfect texture, perfect amount of glaze, and served by cheerful ladies behind the counter. Wish I was in Houston more often, because I would be eating doughnuts from here all day every day. Bearclaws are great too. And the apple fritter. Just come here. It’s great. Also, the coffee is super cheap and pretty drinkable.

I agree with Brandy… this donut shop could have later hours and do amazingly well! I love the donuts and jalapeño/cheese kolaches-they are total sugar goodness! I made the commitment to their hideous brown coffee cup and they always refill it cheap– cheap coffee makes any cup look beautiful! The staff has been there a while and they are all very sweet.

One of the easiest way I can give my kid the moon is to offer to bring him here. They are great donuts(though they are so sweet they make even me sick). The workers are nice, the prices are fair, the food is good. Only bummer here is that this one is not 24 hours(shocker, being off of Washington — I would think someone’s great post-bar idea would be donuts). I couldn’t find bearclaws last time either, but maybe they were just out. They were for someone else anyway, so no worries. Quick, easy, awesome!

Good: Right around the corner at the W.O.W. We have«Shipley Saturday’s» — pick up donut holes and a coffee — great weekend treat. Boston cream is the best — rivals the best bakeries in Michigan! Bad: Kolaches — I don’t eat them, but I hear they aren’t the best ;-(

Shipley’s is the best franchised donut chain in Houston and quite possibly anywhere. Went in Saturday morning to buy half a dozen donuts and was out in less than 5 min. Addicted to their glazed and chocolate icing donuts.

They have the friendliest workers at this Shipley’s! If you lived in Houston, then you know what to expect here. Ask for the«hot» glazed donuts from the back. When you get home the icing will glue your donut to the bag, but it’s worth it! Watch out for the round-about. Some people don’t stay in their designated turning lanes.
