We went there on a Friday night and had to order for four adults and two children. We told the cashier up front that it was a big order. She looked at us and gave us a big sigh like we were bothering her. When we got home, we were missing an order. That eventually turned out ok because the drumsticks were bland and flavorless. The drumsticks had feathers all over it under the breading. Each order had two drumsticks. We all barely finished just one drumstick each. The donuts were ok and nothing special about them.

Awesome spicy chicken! Their corn is great, their chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy are yum yum! They should expand for more seating because it’s awesome!

This review is pretty late. I came here in 2015 within the first month of it opening. It was a really cool concept and always caught my attention when it was going up. The food however, was a little disappointing. We got fried chicken, sour cream mashed potatoes, potato salad, bacon jam and a Mexican chocolate donut. The only standout item was the sour cream mashed potatoes which was insanely good. Other than for the novelty of it, I can’t recommend coming here when the food is mediocre and the price hike is absolutely ridiculous when compared to Popeye’s.

Our 4 piece chicken combo($ 16 for wing, breast, thigh, drumstick w/2 sides) came out fresh, hot, and crispy. The portions are generous and were enough for my friend and I to share. I thought the breading was really good albeit on the thicker and crunchier side, so if you like thin and crispy skin, this may not be your favorite. The meat was juicy and tender, even the breast meat. I wish there was some kind of dipping sauce for the chicken to go along with it, but it was still good without sauce. The two sides were smaller than I was expecting(4 oz) but we liked the creamed corn. My friend got the chicken sandwich($ 7) and enjoyed it as well. The donuts were nothing outstanding but weren’t bad either. I would go back to try more of the flavors! Service is fast – you order at the counter and get your meal almost immediately after via pickup at the counter. The seating inside is small with a few booths, tables, and a bar by the window. There are also several tables outside which can seat 2 – 3 people each, so definitely an option for a day with good weather. Overall, really enjoyed my experience at Lee’s. The donut chicken sandwich looked good but my arteries told me no… maybe next time…

We went here during dinner time. The chicken was just okay, not enough season and really large pieces. They promote natural chicken, but no natural chicken has pieces that big, I’m thinking more along the line of steroids. The donuts were not fresh, and they only had what was left from earlier in the day. If you are going serve donuts all day, you should have fresh donuts all day. The sides were decent, we had the potato and gravy and creamed corn. Very pricey for what they serve. Overall I did not enjoy this, won’t return. Good concept, not so good execution.

I ate here a week or so ago. My experience was enjoyable and I would definitely come back. Service– was good! No complaints. Everyone was polite. Food– definitely good! I didn’t get to try the glazed donuts because they were out, but I did try the chicken, corn, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. All was really good! The chicken had a thicker crust on it. Almost as if the battered it in cornflakes. Kinda how a grandma would make it. Really felt nostalgic for it being an eating experience.

OMG, this place!(insert heart here). This stuff was so tasty! I cant even tell you. However eating a chicken sandwich with two glazed donuts for buns(and the sauce made out of bacon) is not something I can do more than once a year! I just cant. I do recommend them though! Service was great, the guys behind the counter were super sweet. The red velvet donut was also delicious. They have a little bit of outdoor seating, which we took advantage of. I am a fan and will probably go back NEXTYEAR! lol

Their donuts are very creative with the various flavors, but overall there isn’t a wow factor and this place is over rated.

I’ll be back… after 11am. I’ve been so excited to try this place after hearing so many great things about the double donut fried chicken sandwich and the bacon, onion, and jalapeño marmalade. Turns out they don’t serve chicken until after 11am(though they do sell«icebox chicken» for a reduced price, which is the chicken from the previous day). The donuts and kolache we tried were good(favorite and most unusual of the group was the praline bacon and maple icing) but the sadness of not being able to try the whole menu, especially on a Saturday morning, brought it down a star for me. At least until I can come back!

I tried this place a few months ago, then we took the kiddos with us to try and get a donut on Easter sunday. They just so happened to have donuts with cadbury eggs and coconut grass icing for Easter. THECHICKENTENDERSWITHBACONJAM/JALAPENO GRAVYAREOUTOFTHISWORLD!!! If you haven’t tried it, try it.

Double Donut Fried Chicken Sandwich. I can definitely mark this off my foodie Bucket List. It was everything and more. Two WHOLE glazed donuts sandwiching two juicy, plump, crispy chicken tenders. I had to take a good minute or two to just stare at it in amazement when I set the tray down in front of me. That first bite, SMH, something I’ve never tasted before and every bite after that, until I cleaned my plate. To make things even better, I added some of that incredible bacon, onion and jalapeño marmalade to the sandwich. Took it to the next level. That stuff is Heaven sent. I added it to my Southern Potato Salad, in the words of Emeril, «kicked it up a notch». I’m all about sauces, I can never have too many sauces to dip into. Lee’s knows their sauces. The Creole Honey Mustard and the Hot Sauce Mayonnaise. Bottle it up, I’ll take one of each! The staff was super friendly, greeted everyone, made sure that every order was right and every customer was happy. I’m sorry, but not really, if there was one in Dallas, I would be there every weekend!

Chicken and donuts? Do away with that question mark. There’s no doubting the combination. And yes, you SHOULD buy both and eat them at the same time. I went with the chicken tenders so as to avoid the bones. Very tender. The breading isn’t too hard, it wasn’t soggy, and it had a soft flavor profile. This meant that it went amazingly well with the bacon jam that I decided to dip into. My donut of choice was the bacon praline because it was the stand out in the display case. It was looking at me. I smiled back. Love at first sight. I took a bite of chicken, I took a bite of donut. My brain was like«whaaa» but my mouth was like«yea buddy.» The catch is that the donuts are ready at 7am but the chicken starts at 11am. Get there about noon and indulge in both.

so this was definitely a random gem I found out about awhile back while driving through the Heights. The whole concept of donut and chicken together was intriguing enough for me to pull in and see what they were creating in there. what would be the 1st thing you think of when you hear those two things together? a chicken donut sandwich, right? well that definitely what was on the menu and what I ordered. The Double Donut Fried Chicken Sandwich. Now let me tell you, this sandwich will cut some years off your life. I wouldn’t suggest eating this more than once a month but its definitely a guilty pleasure to endure. The donuts really aren’t too sweet to where they take away from the sandwich aspect of the DDFCS. What’s dope is that you can pick a sauce to pour through your sandwich as well. I picked the Hot Sauce Syrup only because it made sense but there are other sauces you can try as well. The chicken was so good within the sandwich that I had to come back and try the chicken again to just confirm if this place is legit or not and they are. The chicken is extra crispy and seasoned appropriately. You can peel the skin off and eat it as if it was it’s own. They actually give you Cholula sauce that blends perfectly with the skin and tastes wonderful on the chicken. I also tried the spicy mayo and creole honey mustard with my chicken tenders and both were legit. I lowkey think I might have the itis now. The chicken isn’t really greasy either. I can wipe my hands with only one napkin and be cleansed from the grease as a result. I believe its all white meat too. the only thing I would complain about is the potato salad. I know I kinda reached a little bit to see if they would be the perfect restaurant by having a bomb ass potato salad but a man can dream, right? Everybody’s potato salad can’t be good and I’m coming to terms with that. Overall, Ive been satisfied on both visits here. You should come and check it out for yourself. Just know that DJ AudiTory put you on.

Oh man. Fried chicken heaven. It was fresh, crispy, and flavorful. The creamed corn was amazing. The mashed potatoes were excellent. Our entire party was licking our fingers and eating more than we should’ve because it was just too good to stop. I was also impressed with the reasonable pricing. Dinner for 4 adults was less than $ 30? Awesome. We took a couple of donuts to go for dessert and they were good too but it’s the fried chicken that will have is returning for more.

I went to sample the donuts which were amazing. We had a blueberry donut which is topped with a blueberry frosting. And we had a vanilla donut topped with cherry frosting. They tasted fresh and the frosting had excellent flavor. They have both cake donuts, which we tried, and yeast donuts. Donuts are about $ 2/each. There is plenty of parking in the attached lot. They have indoor and outdoor dining.

I love the fact that Lee’s Fried Chicken & Donuts uses Springer Mountain Farms chicken with no antibiotics, growth stimulants or hormones and that its hand battered and fried crispy. I was rather surprise at the size of the pieces, while the Colonel, Popeyes, and Church’s have down-sized their chicken portions in an attempt to maintain a price point that caters to the majority, Lee’s premium chicken parts are huge, I guess quality and quantity can come in the same package for the right price, because this ain’t no cheap chicken. By the Piece: Breast — $ 5 Thigh — $ 3.25 Drumstick — $ 2.5 Wing — $ 2.5 This cute this chicken and donut shack located in the Heights is staffed by an extremely friendly owner and employees. This place was very clean and organized and the customer service was outstanding but I found the chicken to be somewhat stale from sitting around, I do agree with one of the reviews stating they have too much chicken staged, I arrived right at 2PM and there were(2) huge pans of previous fried chicken sitting under the heat lamp I understand chicken fried properly takes time so it’s a «catch-22», most customers don’t want to wait, but I almost prefer waiting than getting chicken that been sun bathing for an hour or more. I ordered 4 wings no sides, the wings were were warm and it seems that they have stepped up the spice some, the cayenne pepper was visible in the crust and although I love spicy it was a lot spicier that even I expected, the former reviews must have gotten Lee’s attention and he kicked it up a few notches. Over all a good experience.

This is a bit of a hard review to write as I like my food to be HOT. The food here is really really good but the thing that was disappointing to me was that there was so much chicken in their rack under the heat lamp/warmer waiting to be served that it wasn’t «HOT» to me. The flavoring in their breading is perfect. It’s not spicy at all. In the words of Michael Kors it is «so underwhelming.» After all, in the end it is fried chicken. $ 10 for two piece chicken and two 4 oz. sides just does not justify the pricing point for me. Granted it is in a prime location in the Heights, it still just does not justify the pricing for me. And its an additional $ 2 if you want to get the chicken breast. The price for donuts — I can justify that because these donuts transport you through the experience that a donut at this price point should. Another negative for me was that if you are going to be charging me this much for the chicken I would at least want this to be served in an actual plate rather than a steel tray with a sheet of wax paper on top. This caused the chicken to keep slipping because of the oily nature of the fried product. If you want to have a «fabulous» chicken experience, I would recommend you go to Max’s Wine Dive. Or if you just want to get your chicken fix and it’s not for a picnic, I would steer clear of this place and go to KFC or Church’s where I know my chicken will be hot!

I was craving some fried chicken and Lee’s DELIVERED! Well, on satisfying the craving, it didn’t actually deliver, we picked it up. The chicken was super crispy and super moist. A nice and spicy batter that I wasn’t expecting… pleasantly surprised! The chicken breast is pretty huge, and literally you probably dont need more than that and any other piece to be full(although my fat-ass decided to eat 4 pieces, but whatever, dont judge.) Coleslaw was good. Mashed potatoes were good, but the gravy for it was weird and I wouldn’t recommend it. I get that it is supposed to be bacon infused but maybe dont use maple bacon… it was just sweet and weird. Give me some savory gravy please. And the jelly donut we had was lovely… but not necessary after 4 pieces of chicken. fatty. Food: 5 Drinks: n/a Atmosphere: 2(probably just best to pick up) Service: 4 Price: 3(ok, it is a little pricey, but its quality, so you get what you pay for… if you wanna pay $ 6 for dinner, go to popeyes) I’ll be back after I get my arteries checked…

If you’re in the mood for a sweet and savory heart clogging experience, then this is the place for you. Lee was a able to combine two deep fried American favorites and turn it into a meal! Although the menu offered sandwiches and even a salad, we chose what we were initially attracted to — chicken and donuts! We ordered two drum sticks and a bacon topped donut to share. I’m glad we did share because I wouldn’t have been able to finish the donut myself. The bacon pieces and caramel icing was an interesting touch, but I found the overall combination too sweet and savory. I was only able to eat a quarter of the donut before tapping out. The chicken was good, but not the best. I found it to be a bit greasy. I don’t think I would come back, but DONUT be CHICKEN and give this place a try for yourself!

I really hate writing non favorable reviews. The chicken was nice size pieces and the crust was light and slightly flavorful but the chicken itself is not. A marinade for the chicken would help. I love the fact that the chicken is hormone-free but the price. PROS — –Nice size chicken pieces –Private lot parking –Fluffy donuts –Pleasant customer service CONS — –Cost of food is to expensive 4 piece w/2 –4 oz sides $ 15 –Flavor of chicken is only in the crust that is light –Imitation bacon on the do-nut(the do-nut itself was good) –Cole Slaw is a mass produce mix from a carton –No rolls with dinner(cost extra for rolls) Again the PRICE for what you get is not worth a second visit.
