Only worth it after a win on game day unless you’re reaaaaaalllly craving ice cream. I don’t even know what brand ice cream their using anymore. Service is whatever.

Went to get a cup of coffee and was greeted by a staff of 3 idle workers sitting on the counter chatting. The hours of operation say that they are open until 10PM and when I get there and ask for coffee they informed me that they are not serving coffee because it is after 8 and who drinks coffee after 8. The menu clearly stated that there was coffee offered, the espresso machine was there, the drip coffee maker was there, and there was no reason why they should’ve refused service to a customer. Never coming back.

I normally love this place put with the use of Ashley’s ice cream the quality has gone down :(normally I get a cookies and cream smoothly since their quality is better then Blue bell’s. However today, I tried it with Ashley’s and it tastes horrible. McDonald’s can do a thousand times better. It tastes watered down, and like the nutrient shakes you drink when you skip a meal. However, the staff was pleasant so this review is only about the ice cream shake which I wasn’t please with.

So they just opened the new store in the updated UC on campus. They were having their $ 1.00 cones day so I decided to stop by and give it a try. Last time I was there, in the old UC, the workers were very nice and gave large portions of ice cream. Not this time. As I was waiting in line I noticed that they had all of the workers steadily rotating and helping customer after customer in an efficient way. After I got to the front of the line I saw 6 of the workers were watching one guy make a sundae. I looked back and saw the line steadily getting longer and longer. Not very good management going on. Speaking on management, there was no clear manager to be found to voice my complaint which I will get to later. When I was waiting in line I saw several people ahead of me get a cup with the scoop of ice cream and the put the cone inside the cup. I thought this was a great idea, until I got to the cash register. The girl told me that that it was a dollar for the ice cream/cone and another 15 cents for the cup! I was completely outraged and told her that this was not advertised anywhere. Before I could ask to speak to the manager she said she would let it slide(hopefully she won’t get in trouble for it) and didn’t charge me. When they have 2 cash registers and over 20 people in line don’t you think it would be the smart thing to utilize both of them. Nope, this is UH remember… nothing sensible or efficient goes on here. On portion size consistency… there is none. One worker was giving MASSIVE scoops, almost looked like a double I was praying to get him serve me. Unfortunately that guy was the one showing everyone how to make the sundae. I got the guy who was giving half scoops. Please ensure that all customers will be servered the same amount of ice cream so no one feels cheated, like me. It’s a dollar, give me my moneys worth. I don’t like UH to start off with, this just added to the frustration of the whole situation. They take enough of my money for a garbage teacher who cares more about his research than teaching me, have a decent ice cream shop where students work. Make sure you get your dollars worth of ice cream if you roll the dice and go here. You are better off going somewhere else on the way home.

Double scoop is given when the UH cougars win a game. Which is awesome. Other than that, it is a pretty nice shop where you can get an arrangement of differenct ice creams. There is also a wall of candy. Yum

I recently attended an event at UH and we were hungry. We looked around and sadly there were very few options for a university this size for food. It was this or Wendy’s. I opted just to get an ice cream cone for now and after the event go get some real food. Shasta’s is your old school ice cream shop, with new age pricing. I had a single scoop cone, the ice cream is your basic blue bell but it was like almost 4 bucks. I should have just went to Wendy’s and gotten a frosty.
