I go there at least once a week. Has decent buffet on Sunday. Not really authentic Chinese food, but cheap and friendly service. The soups are pretty good too.

This restaurant is tucked in the shopping center, so I decided to finally try it. The menu is all lunch specials. Every meal comes with Pork Fried Rice, soup, and an eggroll. The wonton soup had good broth. The eggroll was pasty, under-cooked. I got the pepper steak, and requested it be spicy. They did so, but it was still mild. The tea had no actual tea flavor, though it had the color. I have had better quality at a buffet. I will not go back.

The food is terrible, something about the viscosity of the different sauces is way off. It shouldn’t be gel-like. I gave it two stars instead of one because they give you a huge portion for the price, too bad it’s not good.

This place is great. It’s clean and the food is very good, the portion sizes are plentiful, and the staff is very friendly. This is definitely the restaurant to beat in value and food quality of the Chinese restaurants in this area.

Completely disgusted. This is unacceptable and the fact we ate this food before we saw that cigarette but is just gross. Will never order from them again.

3 Stars for Shaghai Inn, This place has been around for a long time. I decided to finally try it out today. They were a two dozen lunch options, all reasonably priced, at most $ 8. Lunch specials include pork fried rice, soup and an egg roll. I ordered the Orange Chicken lunch special, which is my go-to dish at a Chinese restaurant. Not to enticed by «pork fried rice», so I opted for the steamed white rice. No option for chicken or shrimp-fried rice. The wonton soup was okay, nothing special about it. Lunch arrived a few minutes later, perfect timing. The orange chicken serving was very generous and a large scoop of steam rice. The chicken was covered in a glaze of orange sauce. The sauce was okay, tangy and reminded me of sweet and sour. I am used to a little spice in my orange chicken. The waitress happily brought me hot sauce aka chili sauce upon request. The orange chicken was okay, most of the pieces were«fork tender», the others were cut with some moderate effort. The egg roll was crispy, but a little below par. The steamed white rice was done just right. Overall, I am satisfied. The generous portions overcame«okay» quality. $ 8(with tip) was a good value for the variety and quantity. I am very full at the moment. The staff were attentive and polite. I noticed they cleaned the tables promptly. In the end, generous portions, lunch specials at a decent price. If you have a craving for generous portions and a variety for $ 8, this is the place to go.

Had this for dinner just a minute ago. Won’t be ordering again. I had the shrimp fried rice u wouldn’t think could be messed up but there were no peas or carrots & only a few shrimp :(I was very sad. The egg rolls were blah nothing special taste like all the others I’ve tasted here w/no meat either. Pretty pricy also.

I have been trying to try a good Chinese place around my office for years. I remembered Shanghai from the early 80’s when I used to eat there and on a whim decided to look to see if they were still there and they were. I don’t know if they are still owned by the same people but they are still very good. Very clean restaurant and very fresh food. I was amazed and highly recommend

Their lunch special is great– choice of soup, entrée, egg roll. I tried their crab puff and it was awesome. Our waitress was Sandy who was very accommodating and provided great service for our large table. I recommend their General Tso Chicken– you can sub the fried rice for white rice if you’d like. I don’t think this place has the BEST food but for american chinese food, it hits the spot.

This is honestly the best place in houston. Food is fresh and very hot. Waiters are nice and are always watching to see if you need more drinks. I’ve ebeen to many Chinese places but this place tops it off as the best. The general tso’s chicken is so delicious it makes you want more! Thank God my dad suggested this place. Definitely worth the long drive!

The crab puffs actually contains real cream cheese and crab unlike most Chinese places that finds cheaper alternatives. The egg rolls are good also. They really do load up on the portions here, the togo fried rice will feed 2 sumo wrestlers or a family of three. The shrimp and chicken is pretty delicious and they use good size shrimp and chunks of chicken. Location is right off 290 Fairbanks and can be hard to see with all the construction. I’ll definitely be back for their lunch specials.

Ordered food to go and when I opened up my little Styrofoam box, there was plastic wrap melted into a wad in my food… which led me to believe they have these preportioned and nuke it in the microwave when you order it. G R O S S.

Suitable for human consumption This is a fairly good Chinese restaurant. The service was good, and the food was high quality. The egg drop soup was fair, and boring. They could’ve put some noodles or onions or something in it besides just plain soup. The egg rolls were Home made, not bought from a supplier. My entrée was Lemon chicken. It was cooked crisper than any other place I’ve eaten it, but it was good and of high quality. The prices were very reasonable. This restaurant is worthy of a second visit.

Absolutely terrible service. Worst experience I have ever had with ordering delivery Chinese food. Took 2 hours to get the food, we called 4 times. No one would communicate with us, the food was Ice cold when we got it so I called the owner and asked for a discount or a coupon or a refund, but he just proceeded to cuss me out an interrupt me the whole time. Never. Ever again. And the food wasn’t even that good anyways. The seafood wasn’t cooked properly and tasted old, didn’t give us any soy sauce or forks. And way over priced.

I actually set up a Unilocal account just so I could warn potential customers. Don’t expect to get your sweet & sour sauce with your sweet & sour chicken. It would make too much sense to do so. Don’t order Hot & Sour soup and Sweet & Sour anything in the same order… he says they sound the same and that is why I didn’t get my sauce or soup in my order. Also if you want delivery, no one in the building can do it before 5pm because they are too busy sitting in the front of the restaurant hanging out. I saw 3 to 4 people sitting there and my order for 3 couldn’t be completed or packed correctly. The food is so-so but I personally have a hard time with stupidity and laziness, so I will take my business elsewhere.

This place is decent, their fish scented shrimp is pretty good. I had no complaints about it after my order. Seems like your run of the mill Chinese place, good for take out.
